Thoughts on Medicine: Humoural Theory
Urth, as our helpfile on medicine states, does not have the comfort of modern medicine. Though it is difficult to approximate pain, suffering and trauma associated with the humoural system through a game, I wanted to provide some perspective on the subject as one of the few doctor characters that we...

Re: Charali Camp
I think I only ever took people to the Break in the Fence and treated that as the encampment. Directly south is the Hillman area.

Re: The Big Mysteries
Favorite mystery will continue to be the limits of technology and science in this environment and how this interacts with religious views and morality. Medieval philosophy was never an exact science, nor should it be. It is a mess of philosophy, theology and the power of reasonable observation. It h...

Mundane Weapons & Tactics of the Desertmen
This is a draft pending imm review before in-game publishing. This is what happens when I read a lore-related book over the weekend. As those of my acquaintance will recall, I cut my teeth in medical philosophy through the hard and varied school of the Marchs. Physic and its practice has been my ca...

Later veins of thought turn...

Re: Thoughts on the Charali
Naming: Where do Charali names come from? As a rule, due to their matriarchal lineage, the family name is often the name of their birth mother. In Antione’s case, his last name is Yagmur, the name of his mother. In the middle ages it was rare for the peasant class to have a family name aside from a ...

Thoughts on the Charali
The following is an attempt to compile and summarize my understanding of Charalin culture. As one of the groups in our lore that is far removed from the influence of the Davite religion, they are open to a lot more interpretation than most. However, it is impossible to remove the influence of the Da...

University Curriculum
As some of you know, I've been working on a few IC texts to flesh out aspects of the game. I'm also the GL of the Scholars, so the general state of knowledge in the game is important to me. What do you, the players, think should be taught at the university? I've got a short list of potential classes...
