Your personal roleplaying tricks and tropes for a good scene
Let's share some RP "tricks and tropes" you as a Player use or notices others using - to bring life to your character, realism to a scene and/or to get things rolling. A more individual expansion on How to RP on an RP MUD if you will. Scene starters Allow me to begin. First some basic scene-starter ...

Re: New Player Survey pt. 2
@Corolinth You make some very good points. I must admit that as a newbie to TI (not that long ago), I did not at all react in the same way to reading the help files, but maybe that's just me being lax about rules or something ... :) I can see that reading all those files as tabletop-style game rules...

Re: New Player Survey pt. 2
As one not playing a noble, I've never had any issues with the "ask leave to leave" thing. 1) If I'm travelling somewhere and happen to meet a noble mid-way, it's OOC assumed I'm just passing through (I as a player might not even notice the passing). 2) If I'm in the same large room/area and is not ...

Re: Players Extending the Theme
This is a textbook example from freeform roleplay in other media. It's godmodding on Briat's part. The cardinal rule here must be OOC communication. Briat must be aware that Annae is ad-libbing that the stick gave her itches. She is in charge of the stick's story. The stick is an extension of Annae'...

Re: Add ranks to seek public list
That extra info is is not visible to guild members running that very same command (just tried it). Is there some other way of listing the (public) members of a guild along with their rank - at least for other non-GL members of that same guild? If not such a command ought to be added - or, easier the...

Re: The Ballad of the Cave behind the Waterfall
Fun all around. :)
Should probably point out that just before this episode, Edvard had remarked about being hit in the head by a hammer during the quest (or was it some strange mushrooms?) and that he was still a bit dizzy from that - hence the dizzied interpretation of him on stage.

Add ranks to seek public list
As far as I can discern, "seek public list" is the only way for a non-GL to figure out who are actually in a given guild. Either way, I suggest adding the rank to the listing, to make this more useful. Will also act as a guide for seekers on how they should address people (also since they will proba...

Re: Storytellers - First Cut
Thanks for the clarification! Being primarily a tabletop GM since a long time, I find this concept all kinds of fascinating. Since my impression of GM:ing an online game is often more similar to GM:ing a LARP than GM:ing a tabletop roleplaying game, I would suggest you give multiple players the opti...

Re: Storytelling
Ah, this answered some of my questions from the storytelling suggestion thread. I think this is a great idea. Will be even better once more "temporary-GM" powers can be implemented, but also the rather limited version of simply being "in charge" of a scene could come to much use I think. I can see u...

Re: Storytellers - First Cut
Conceptually I love this. As far as I understand, this is a sort of "temporary GM role", am I right? I have no real comment on the command definition itself (the code field is a bit hard to read, but it looks okay). I get that the "temp-GM" can create a story ("adventure/scene?") that staff needs to...
