Karrin claims, "OOC Chat Rules:

- Approach each topic with the mindset that each person is doing the best they can with the
knowledge they have, staff and player alike.
- Please avoid topics around current events. Nothing should be revealed in an OOC meeting that
others would prefer to find out in game ICly.
- This is not the correct forum for criticism of a specific player or a topic centered around one
player. If there are concerns about a specific player, please address that with staff privately.
- This is not the correct forum for bringing up policy violations. If there are instances of
perceived policy violations, please address that with staff privately."

Karrin questions, "So! How was RP this week?"

Magdalena claims, "I also come from a very different database so I'm having to relearn this system
of building compared to the system that I'm familiar with. So thank you for your patience as I
learn. And I'll stop interrupting now."

Karrin says to Magdalena, "You aren't interrupting a single thing, I promise."

InvestSouthside states, "Rp was good lots of sitting around gambling lol"

Karrin claims, "Magdalena built this in about 45 minutes. Which for a first ever build is.. not bad.
(For those who remember their first ever tooling experiences.)"

Meiari states, "I appreciate everyone who has been teaching me new gambling games <3"

Karrin says, "And we have found out how the economy is working in this game. LOTS OF GAMBLING."

Meiari hides coin purse.

Kalana grins.

Rambling says, "I was involved in some things out of the game so by all accounts I've been absent
from RP this week, sorry about that its been one of my least active times."

Karrin claims to Rambling, "All good, just come on back! We like when you're here."

Capitalism claims, "Rp has been interesting "

Capitalism claims, "Where I can pop on"

Kalana states, "Good good, though I have been a bit scarce, trying to get things moving though"

Karrin asks, "Ok, any topics for this meeting that you would like me to register for discussion?"

Magdalena just listens.

Karrin states, "I... will take that as a no. If you come up with anything in the meantime, feel free
to just send me a quick tell and we'll get you on the books."

Karrin says, "Haha, ok, one topic. Please pre-type, we'll get there after our staff updates."

Karrin has transferred Sparkles. [OOC]

Magdalena gives a fine, cedar jewelry box carved with a festive Yule wreath to Sparkles.

Karrin states to Magdalena, "Ok, you first."

Magdalena casually waves her hand at everyone "Hi everyone. I know that you have only met me a
couple of times. I come from a different game to build for you, where I used to act as a builder.
Most of what I did over there was food or jewelry or clothes, but I am learning to build all kinds
of things over here. So far I've been able to build a house, including a fancy key to go with it and
a lock, and I'm learning how to quickly build objects like that jewelry box that you're holding.
Also - having color in the titles is a bit new for me so bear with me as I get used to that because
the coding on the backend for it makes my eyes bleed.

Karrin patches Magdalena's eyes.

Magdalena claims, "Also - I have a mean sense of humor so don't be surprised if I actually do make
voodoo dolls of people who are particular cantakerous. For funsies."

Karrin says, "She would legit do it. Faith will like her."

Meiari states, "I approve so long as I'm not voodoo-ed x3"

InvestSouthside says, "Bring it"

Kalana wonders, "Another punny one?"

Magdalena states, "Nooo. I actually hiss at puns."

Karrin states, "Hehe."

InvestSouthside states, "Ah a magey cat got it"

Kalana states, "Okay, Faith may be getting a voodoo doll, then."

Meiari nods in agreement with Southside.

Karrin says, "Ok, so daylight savings murdered me, but I am alive again. I've been tredging through
the plots, and I know I have more to do. I also have been making our end-game mob for when we get
there."

Scarry claims, "Ploooots. *groan*"

InvestSouthside claims, "More plotties"

Karrin claims, "Ok! Player topic."

Karrin states to Scarry, "Your floor."

Scarry says, "Hi there! Many skills do not really have a master craft, which is sad, but I think we
can fix this. We should brainstorm about this, especially since very flavourful skills are otherwise
somewhat disincentivized. Like, for mine, I have forage and fishing in mind. Grandmaster Foragers
should be able to produce logs that decay into rare mushrooms - truffles for example. I think the
cooks in the cities would eat that up.

Fishers should be able to produce Crawfish traps and dig up oysters! I think this would incentivize
people to have a cool grandmaster thing into not the usual suspects of their guild skills and combat
skills."

Karrin muses, "Do forage and fishing... have a craftset?"

Scarry states, "Probably not. But they should have."

Sparkles says, "No, which ... is kind of odd because butchering fish doesn't rely on Fishing or even
Cooking, it pools off Husbandry."

InvestSouthside queries, "Or matbe rare 75 finds they can get? "

Kalana states, "I thought there was some of those"

Karrin says, "I think Master Crafts are limited to crafting skillsets, really. Though, as far as I
understand, grandmastering things like fishing and foraging do have some special privileges that go
with them. I'd be more keen on things that only people with that rank or higher could find, than
creating an entire craftset for a single master craft."

Karrin states to Kalana, "I think there very much are."

Faith states, "I don't know if there neeeeds to be special features for master/grandmaster in every
skill. "

Sparkles claims, "In the past, having Master or above fishing used to let you designate what you
fished for, but to my understanding that got removed. I think it just increases your chance of
getting the 'higher quality' fish."

Scarry states, "My previous char was a gm forager and I had no real benefit from it."

Valora says, "This was an... issue with husbandry until I brought it up. I super support these less
taken skills getting unique Master and GM items. Craft or pulled from their command would fit. I do
think every skill should have advantage for GM and Mastering. tbh. Not giving them it is why they
don't exist. I want a challenge for Champ Husbandry but it wouldn't have happened before cause there
was no reason to GM it"

Karrin states, "It's something we can look into, but admittedly, not a super high priority in
relation to the rest of the stuff going on."

Karrin says, "Which reminds me that I do need to let you know about something, and I forgot during
my update thingie."

Karrin states, "But it can wait."

Faith says, "There is an (amittedly minor) benefit in using the contest command, or just exhibit to
show off how talented your character is in RP. Aksi the opportunity to be the champ."

Faith claims, "*and"

Karrin says, "Alright, we can consider and research it. I have a feeling there is a benefit, and I'm
just not well versed on what they are. So, I imagine others may not know, either. But, if there
isn't, we can look into it."

Capitalism states, "Theres the ability to add some crafts to some things like craft_ and make it
require different skills"

Scarry says, "I think it's just worth thinking about. I just think these skills kind of fall to the
wayside for players, because they give you no real benefit beyond adept. So it kind of gives the
drift of omnidisciplinarian merchants and absolute combat monsters who are like, idk, a cook."

Meiari states, "I do think incentivizing people to diversify their skillsets helps promote rp
outside of just 'champion'"

Karrin says to Scarry, "Honestly think that's on purpose. There are ones that have true benefits to
get to 75, and some that are just fine at 60."

Karrin states, "So looking at foraging, there are DEFINITEly a few things that are only available at
75."

Scarry declares, "It just makes same-y skillsets. And nice!"

Karrin claims, "So my guess is that the issue in a lot of these is not that they don't exist, but
that maybe it will take some time to find them."

Capitalism says, "Like the *redacted* and also *redacted*"

Karrin claims, "I'm not going to say WHAT they are."

Capitalism nods.

Taxius states, "But shouldn't there be something for the people that do go through the effort to
raise an unusual skill to Grandmaster. It's doesn't need to be much, but something that rewards the
effort."

Valora says, "I think providing no incentive to go beyond Adept or maybe master in edge cases is why
some skills don't exist on grid at all and are an implicit way of telling people "Your character and
contribution to the grid is less valuable that someone who is 'A tailor' because they get to add
more and provide a real show of skill where you do not."

Karrin says, "What I'm saying is that there ARE benefits to them. I just checked foraging, and found
several that are available only at 75. You guys will have to find where they are. I'll look at the
others and make sure they also have benefits."

Karrin states to Valora, "I think that's stretching it QUITE far, to be blatantly honest. No
character is centered around one skill, and their skill is not what makes them valuable to the grid.
If it's skill alone, there'd be no need for RP. We could just morph into a skill grinding MUD."

Taxius says, "To be clear I was not complaining about foraging. Ride or fishing are the ones.
Arguably even stuff like teach."

Sparkles claims, "In fairness, some people already do that."

Scarry states, "Grandmaster teach should allow people to teach Teach."

Karrin says to Sparkles, "Doesn't mean that's what we're built around."

Valora claims, "I'm not saying that it is... pointless to add a gm skill for pure RP attempts I have
a few skills at Master and GM for pure RP. I just think that if thats the approach then you're going
to lead to them being rare on grid. "

Faith states, "I don't think so. Think about it in terms of quantified XP instead of ranks. If you
spend the same amount of 'xp' (read as time/practice/effort) on some skills, there's gonna be a
limit to what can be gained. If you spend the 10,000 hours a master musician does towards learning
something more mundane, the benefits will fall off much sooner than someone still practicing
something like arts, crafts, etc. "

Karrin questions, "Ok, since we're being accused of telling people their characters are less
valuable to the grid because their skills somehow 'mean less', I think we're going to move on for
the sake of my own sanity. We can talk about it later once I'm not peeved about that particular
comment. Any other topics?"

Karrin states, "Alright. The part I forgot to mention earlier, then."

Karrin claims, "We are working on moving the server. The server we are on was already sunsetting,
even after having pre-paid several years, so a server move was going to come anyway. I was intending
to do it next summer, but... with the recent crashes and issues, I want to move it sooner. More
space will only benefit us in the long run. As it is, that is one reason our bugs aren't being
touched at the moment - OUTSIDE of the fact that Lochan's life has been hella busy and he simply
hasn't been able to be around much. I don't want them to put in fixes that might just be reverted on
crash due to space or other issues."

Karrin claims, "We will warn you before it happens, it shouldn't change a single thing about the way
you log in. It'd just be a little bit of downtime, hopefully for a great reward."

Scarry declaims, "Nice!"

Meiari claims, "Hopefully transition is smooth~"

Kalana queries, "Less of those repeated disk full crashes?"

Karrin claims, "For those of you who aren't on our official Discord, I will put things in game to
warn, as well. But, there's always the chance you'll miss it that way."

Karrin says to Kalana, "That's the hope."

Meiari wonders, "Does this mean I can eventually smoke the server-seeing dope?"

Karrin states, "As mentioned previously, that was only ONE of the problems. You actually should be
fine smoking it now. That was the command that broke it, but it wasn't the reason it broke."

Karrin states, "If it was, I would have put out something telling everyone to quit smoking things."

Meiari states, "Yeah I know it wasn't the only, it just seemed to start the cascade of events lol. I
have been holding onto it until approved to try again"

Faith queries, "Like annoying commercials?"

Karrin states, "It didn't. The events actually started the night before."

Meiari claims, "Oooof"

Karrin states, "That's why it was just one thing. There had been previous crashes throughout the day
and night, and that just took it over the edge."

Scarry wonders, "Oh so we can toke up just fine?"

Karrin claims, "I would have told you if you couldn't."

Scarry claims, "Based"

Karrin asks, "Any other topics before we go?"

Faith muses, "This is your Mud Server. This is your Mud Server on drugs -404- any questions?"

Karrin claims, "Alrighty, I'll send you all back to the grid. Enjoy your RP."

InvestSouthside states, "Reminder the yule festival is tomorrow."

Karrin nods.
