Priests can give you public penance as well. If a Priest believes that you are not reforming, they can let an Inquisitor know about that as well (if memory serves; I tried looking for the relevant helpfile here, but out of the staggering three files I checked, didn't find the reference I remember). ...

A priest that wrestles with the need to adhere to Confession and the need to alert the Inquisition has certainly been given an interesting problem to deal with! I am agreeing with Deadhandsome on the desastrous side effect of IC blackballing on the Order's population, and the motivation of seekers. We could have racist priests/knights, alcoholic ones, or simply characters who do not make consensus on the player base. We absolutely could. Perhaps said racis...

The amount of time is not really the heart of the problem. I don't think in other guilds your RP outside of guild stuff is constantly being measured against player and character views of Davite morality in the grand public scale the way the Order is. For me, I typically use thoughts to express my characters opinion on current matters in the scene. Snide comments they wouldn't say out loud, how they truly feel about someone who is talking, etc etc. I've also had a character think out of boredom, either they didn't follow the topics being express...
