Re: Exile and its Implementation
At the time of the "enactment" it's entirely possible that the PC is already in hiding, in the wilderness or in an otherwise private/secret/secure area -- they might even be in the middle of a scene with someone they trust. So this would still feel REALLY inappropriate and unfair. That's why we can...

Re: Exile and its Implementation
I wonder if maybe it should be mostly not code-forced. When enacted, transfer them to the off-grid room (maybe with access to mail to plead their case back to the seneschal) but allow them to go right back on grid with an accept that they are defying their banishment and their life is forfeit if cau...

Re: Inquisition Art?!
Not sure if there is a thread... this one could be it, sure! I only have one. This is the Lady Marisa dul Damassande le Orban. http://tinyurl.com/gn6ov9x The player of Florense did it ages ago, but I don't think she's played TI in ages. I haven't heard of active commission-taking artists lately, but...

Re: [Poll] City Metric, City Report, City Forecast, and Seneschal
I am currently feeling a bit down on the system, especially as it turns out I am lumped in with a shared court GL vote, as I have bank access, which means I apparently forfeit my right to my own vote as a noble. If I vote, I'm overwriting whatever Emma or Margaux has done, which is not what I want t...

Re: Languages, Accents, and Dialects
I don't have a lot of input, given I haven't put too much thought into how most languages should sound outside of the garbling. However, as a long term Vavardi player, I thought I'd add in how I handle it in text: I just replace the "ih" sound in words with "ee". Not all instances of i but also othe...

Re: Color Stringer Website
Hey, I wrote this an age and a half ago. I'm afraid it is very outdated. I think I searched for the code to update it and couldn't find it or something like that. I meant to write it new to have something more updated, but never got around to it, I'm afraid. I'll try to prioritize it again.

Re: RPI = No OOC
In my time on MUDs without OOC communications or when TI didn't have it, I felt very isolated. It felt like the OOC communication was still going on, but it was relegated only to those people who already had other methods of communication, IMs, email, whatnot.

Re: Latent Detection
What about some sort of command that you can use on someone by touching them? It would be inobvious to everyone else that either they or you were a mage, and if they were a non-mage they would be none the wiser. But if they were a mage or a latent, they would feel something weird. You would feel the...

Re: Dual Guilding
I worry that an xp cost would exacerbate the issue, rather than helping it. It makes it into an OOC minmaxing choice rather than an IC one for the character, and gives a sense of entitlement that the guild benefits are deserved whether it is being RPed or not because they have been purchased. I do l...

Re: Dual Guilding
Even the idea of a Grand Inquisitor learning blacksmithing? I could make that work: in fact, I had a Grand Inquisitor who had knight experience and who could shoe his own horses. So, I can honestly that I -- and many others! -- could do it in a way that doesn't devalue the role. Besides, making my ...
