Re: Age Disability
Players are not immediately turned into a pile of goo at 45. Impacts from aging are most prominent in lower learn slots. My character is mid to late fifties, but I don't remember my maxed master and my grandmaster skills dropping to a lower rank immediately. The character is mid/late fifties now and...

Re: Age Disability
Slightly off topic, but my characters, without fail, end up dying before coded age sets in. I'm a little jealous of the tenured legacies all of you have managed to acquire. To be fair, I took a break from the game and popped back in with Safir in her forties, so there were some missed opportunities...

Re: Age Disability
I don't have a problem with age disability. As long as a character has some grand mastered combat skills, they are not going to be useless. If combat was really that character's focus, then they should have some grand mastered and those do not get nerfed the same way as other skills do (though that'...

Re: Use it or lose it
Age decay doesn't impact teaching, so no worries for you there.

Re: [Poll] Invite command
Poll ended before I could respond, but I used invite a lot and very rarely now. The policy changes around it don't really have anything to do with it - those sort of risks aren't things I'm uncomfortable with for my character. If invite only works in public places, though, and the idea is to draw a ...

Re: Low lawfulness and redlist idea
That being said while I love this idea I do wonder if it's going to encourage against RP rather than add to it. Redlisting makes mobs lethal and if you are someone who can randomly encounter lethal random NPCs on grid any time you walk around, that's likely going to encourage towards reclusive beha...

Re: Use it or lose it
I did not intend my post to be a complaint about age and combat. I'm fine with it, because I should not be a combat monster at 55+. Being a combat monster at 55+ should be work. My post was mostly to show that combat already has restrictions on it in game for long-time combat characters and addition...

Re: Use it or lose it
My experience as an aging combat player: challenges to combat characters are already integrated with the code surrounding aging and have a more severe block. There is nothing I can do to maintain an edge on any combat skills that are limited by their maxed learn pool. Mastered skills at 74 are actua...

Re: Rewarding Public Room Idling
I think a bonus to activity is better than XP per tick, unless that checks for activity as well. Otherwise we'll just have people going to public spaces to literally idle out. I think more furniture in the public rooms would allow for more public RP. It's come up before that people can just use join...
