Re: Why use magic?

One way to make healing more interesting would be to borrow a page from contemporary vampire lore: healing involves consuming the blood of the healer, and results in a permanent bond between the healed and the healer... perhaps with some disturbing implications for said bond. Makes the spell less go...

Re: Ahalin Tower Check-In - Evidence Bins?

I really like this proposal, and I think it could *probably* be implemented primarily through the mobscripting system. The only thing I don't know about for certain would be the guild channel echoes, but maybe one of the buildstaff can weigh in on this?

Re: New spell: Facedance

Wait, I just realized that you said that it can hide equipment as well, which makes it somewhat more useful than a mask. Certainly, it might mitigate the need to have completely separate kit for when you moonlight as a mage... though I reckon any serious practitioner of the dark arts is going to wan...

Re: New spell: Facedance

This is a neat enough idea for a spell, I suppose, but it's nothing that a mask couldn't accomplish easily enough. What might be more interesting (in terms of strange RP) and also less possible with mundane items might be being able to take on the face of another player, although I recognize that ge...

Re: TI Books - Permission for Character Usage Requested

The Daravi War plot -- the events leading up to, during, and after. Was a lot going on politically.

The Flood -- was a pretty great mage event, has a lot of epic potential.

The Civil War - Thinking Richael here, but I recognize that is not possible, given the current cast list.

Re: Herbalism Feedback Requested

I also agree with BingoX that we really ought to avoid the current DnD style effects of herbs. As written presently, herbalism is at least as potent as magic, -without- all of the hubub of getting killed over it.

Re: Herbalism Feedback Requested

I would emphasize the part of herbalism that made the herbalist the medieval chemist. I think equal attention should be given to the preparation of the herbs as is given to the herbs themselves. Chiefly, I would emphasize that different preparations -- tinctures vs. infusions vs. salves vs teas vs. ...

Re: Debrief - Invasion Finale & Palace Battle

I think you raise a good point there, Kinaed. RP will be a very different flavor in a melee, and that's to be expected. I still think there was a quite a bit of stuff that was... anti-RP, but that's going to be more a matter of taste and hard to articulate, so I'll just acknowledge that people will ...
