A cooking and brewing competition is being held featuring the unique flavors
of Lothos honey.  The competition features four categories: sweet dish,
savory dish, sweet drink, savory drink.  It will be run in conjunction with
the Hunting Festivities.

Raylene von Kazakov and Theodora op Arcenant invite any and all to
participate by seeking them out to get some jars of honey to practice with
and make their final brews or dishes.

On Augustus 04, SC 400 the Grand Magnate announced publicly to the patrons of
Saint Thea Chocolaterie the appointment of Elisabetta dul Vanatu to the
position of Magnate of the Lithmore Merchants Guild.  Chocolate was enjoyed

SC 400 Hunting Festival and Cooking Contest
 
Ladies Raylene ab Kazakov and Theodora op Arcenant in combination with Bard Aurele op Beaumont
welcome all to participate in the festival of summer and fellowship on the grounds of the King's 
Forest.
 
Visitors are invited to come participate as hunters, viewers, or chefs and brewers seeking to show
off their talent to utilize the noted honey of Lothos to best creativity.
 
Two free jars provided for participants, write to the household or either Lady or Grand Magnate
Dalton Donnod for details. Entries for official consideration should be submitted ahead of the 
contest.

New rumors circling around speak of a new Sapiente amongst the Grey Cloaks,
in the middle of the introduction of new council members.  Stories abound of

In conjunction with the Hunting Festival and her Sword Dedication, Valora,
First Daughter of Wren, was named Grand Master of the Knights Lithmorran by
Lord Earl Marshall Mathieu Bouchard.  None seemed more surprised than the new
Grand Master herself.

News has leaked from the Synod that the Cardinal, Emmierich ab Braye, has
taken to illness.  Despite diligent research and care from the Physicians, it
has been determined that he does not have a lot of time left.  In response
and as an attempt to allow the Cardinal to rest during his last days, the
Synod has declared that they will be seeking a replacement from amongst
Lithmore's established Grand Inquisitors, Inquisitors, Archbishops, and
Bishops.  They have promised an official announcement once the title has been
passed.

Funeral services for Cardinal Emmierich ab Braye were held today after a
multitude of clergy from throughout the duchy gathered to honor and remember
his service and dedication to the Order.  

Just before his passing, Akela le Kamaka, a Bishop from Avonna, was sworn in
as the new Cardinal of Lithmore.  There are curious murmurings throughout the
Order of what might happen with a Tubori leading, rather than a Lithmorran.

On 25 Novembris 400, Edison von Highpyke was brought out to the gallows in
River Square where he was hanged.  Lord Justiciar Symon von Usyk announced
this was a sentence culminating from numerous charges including sedition,
possession of poisons, and numerous threats against representatives of the
Crown.  Directing attention to the Holy Inquisition, he further relayed their
own determination that von Highpyke had involved himself with heretical
matters of his own will, and that this sentence (plus his notable stripping
of title as both Earl Marshall and Knight Lithmorran) was satisfactory for
his penance for such an affront.

In a closing statement before dismissal, the Lord Justiciar advised that
information on those declaring themselves members of Highpyke's unlicensed
and illicit mercenary company dubbed the "Fox Dragoons" should be reported to
the Reeves.  He finally reminded the people that those born beneath the
nobility being granted power are receiving it as an act of trust, and to
abuse that trust or making the assumption you are deserving of more than you
have is an insult to the very title you reach for.  "One who makes a claim
for the mantle of a Great Lord only for the benefits they imagine such a
mantle gives is not fit for the duty required of the title, and as such gives
offense to the Crown."

Very soon after the Cardinal Akela le Kamaka took his position, he stepped
forward to bring the concept of marriage to the Synod.  Being from Tubor, he
brought forth that he felt strongly about following the Erra Pater as closely
as possible, and states quite passionately that there is nothing written
within the sacred text that forbids marriage between same sexes, and wishes
for Lithmorran clergymen to be permitted to perform the wedding ceremony
whether those being wed are both male, both female, or male and female.

Clergymen originally from Tubor were enthusiastically in favor of the change,
and took ownership of the conversation, answering any questions from the
other clergymen of other duchies.  Clergymen from Lithmore did also
eventually step forward with approval, though the conversation revolving
around any sort of carnal relations no matter the participants clearly gave
them some visible discomfort.  Those from Farin refrained from comment and
discussion, as it is a secular matter for their own duchy, but said that they
would not stop the unions within the borders of Lithmore.  The members from
Vandago maintained that as long as there is a suitably favorable match, they
would not interfere, just as with any other marriage.  

Out of respect for the monarchy, the church relayed this news to King Amir ab
Harmons before releasing to the public at large.  The official ruling of the
king follows: Any titled noble who petitions to partake in a marriage that is
unable to produce an heir is required to appoint one and include the name in
correspondence with the king for permission for the marriage.  The king
reserves the right to approve or deny both the marriage and the heir,
declining if those proposed are deemed unsuitable.

Appointed by Poet Laudate Padrika Laskin, Angiolo Verga, born south of
Lorandy has been appointed as Poet Knight.  While still a Journeyman, the
many duties of the troupe require more than two hands to fully manage.

In lieu to the appointment, Verga invites the City of Lithmore cordially to
the Spring Awakening celebrations of this Sun Cycle, which will be a dance
fete at the shores of Lake Harmon.  A mule train will be provided for ease of
travel to the location, while the honourable Knights Lithmorran offered
protection for the festivities against wild animals.

Upon much deliberation the March, now known as Samralier March, has been
formed in the glorious wake of the latest crusade.  In the name of His Royal
Majesty King Amir ab Harmons, the land under this new march shall consist of
Sand's Fortress, Queen's Landing, and a promise to the unclaimed Rassitown. 
In accordance to reestablishing goverance over the march we have chosen a
capable leader from within our own ranks, The Lord Earl Marshall Mathieu
Bouchard.  Being given the chance to prove himself as Castellan over the
reclaimed land we hope to see the glory of Lithmore exemplified and the
Lord's Light brought back to the land in the coming days.  Along with his
appointment, and as a son of Vavard, the land has been decidedly given as a
holding under Duke Loran dul Acris.  This decision comes hand in hand to
recognize the Navy's outstanding successs in reclaiming Queen's Landing.

Recognize this as an official proclamation from the Kings right hand, Lord
Seneschal Eloxotzi Phazatzin, Voice of the King, Keeper of the Royal Seals,
Head of the Royal Council of Lithmore, Shaper of Gold, Silver, and Steel,
Master of the Jeweler's art, Master of the Foundry's Flames, First Amongst
Nobles, and son of Farin.

After a harrowing time organizing and interviewing the new citizens in the
Edessan lands, it seems they have managed to gather information that will
help them better understand how the people consider themselves and their

Happy Yule Lithmore!

We at the Merchants' Guild are excited to spend the next few years walking
the Holy City through the different realms of the kingdom, starting off with
the Charali Plains!  Please join us in celebration with various thematic
pieces made available in the Merchant's Trade Hall Gallery for purchase; and
to conclude the year and holiday season we will be finishing this Yuletide
with a feast featuring food from the Charalin Plains, located at The Crystal
Chamber in the Merchant's Trade Hall.

With an intent to address some of the more visible troubles often plaguing
the beauty of the King's capital, the Lord Seneschal and Lady op Arcenant set
their eyes next on sprucing up Paarin Park, long one of the more treasured
spots in the city.  Some rumors whisper it's a cheeky memorial to the man's
nuptials held recently within and others an advertisement for future business
as the end of his term looms.  

But the more straight-forward simply note the open call for lamplighters and
assistants to round up for work and see about replacing old lamp posts and
doing survey work for potential future efforts.

 The Royal Palace announces that, in celebration of the birthday of Her
Majesty on Maritus 25th, Queen Cristiana will play host to a small reception
for residents of Lithmore in good standing.  She will receive petitions in
the spirit of the day.  Though gifts are not expected, the queen notes that
should guests wish to humor her, she would be most pleased by clever
subtleties and other decorative food items.  She will, of course, accept
other appropriate gifts as would please her guests, should they feel so
inclined.

The reception will be held at the Royal Palace in the Great Hall on Maritus

sickness.  She's enlisted the backing of Lord Seneschal Eloxotzi Phazatzin to
get out the word and aid in the logistics as well as convincing other council
members and nobles.  The rest would be calling upon cooks, artisans, and
others willing to donate time and needed items to ensure the common folk have
the needed supplies to keep clean and healthy.  She'd offer the supplies to
all the Orders' alms houses and the physician clinics to be handed out to all
in need and coming for other services, ensuring they are spread far and
wide.

Merchants grumble in the streets, wondering if their shop will be the next to
smell like a heap of garbage.  Restaurant owners are sealing their windows
and doors hoping that whatever devoured the foods at other establishments
stays far from theirs.

Uncertainty is sealed as members of both the Order and the Reeves appear to
be asking questions and poking around, as well as some of the leadership of
the Merchants.  Some express merely wishing it was all done, but evidence
says that it is only just beginning.

Raylene von Kazakov, Countess of Lothos, in conjunction with the merchants
and the Roseren Orphanage, are appealing to the members of the city to
remember the Law of Charity, and consider opening their home to the adoption
of an orphan.

What better gift as we approach the time for Yule than the gift of a home? 
There are many orphans, especially older ones, that have been without a real
home other than the orphanage for many years.

For those orphans between the ages of fourteen to seventeen, in addition, the
Merchants will be offering apprenticeships to begin learning trades to both
help their adopted families, and to prepare for their own futures.  The
Merchants have made it clear they are offering this to all orphans in the age
range, not only those who are adopted.

Lord Justiciar von Usyk, fresh from the Madison, has called for a
restructuring within the ranks of the Reeves.  Old blood is being cycled out
while new blood is brought in, patrols and watches are being redrawn.  Front
and center however is a campaign of awareness for the citizens of Lithmore
about how one can stop the obstructions of thieves and robbers on the roads
nowadays.  The good people of Lithmore are reminded to report suspicious
people and activities to the Reeves, and are also informed of many ways they
can make the work of the guard far more expedient.

As part of this campaign, more public punishments are being put before the
people with an emphasis on the punishments for assault and robbery -
whippings and even hand chopping for all to see.  Along with this, notable
crooks and public nuisances are being put into the stocks with increased
frequency in what can be described as a firm reminder of the indignity one
earns from their mischief.

On Maritus 21 304, the royal palace released an announcement from the office
of King Amir:

In collaboration with the Holy Order and former Seneschal Eloxotzi Phazatzin,
His Majesty King Amir ab Harmons has decided to separate the secular and
religious duties of the position of the Earl Marshall.  

Going forward, the Earl Marshall position will be wholly encapsulated within
the Order and under its control to appoint suitable candidates.  It will no
longer be considered a Great Lord position, and, as such, will no longer come
with the expectations, restrictions or privileges of the nobility.  They will
continue to serve at his majesty's pleasure as subjects of his kingdom, but
without expectations of his intervention except in cases of serious breaches
of behavior.  He also notes that the role of Grand Master is also not
considered amongst the nobility.  In matters of precedence, both positions
will be considered at the same level as a baron, with obvious preference
given to each in their own domain.  The Earl Marshall will remain in direct
command of knight units, even ones deployed in war, but will coordinate with
a newly created position to do so.

This newly created position will be a new court role and replace the Earl
Marshall as one of the Great Lords.  They will hold the title of Lord General
and they will command the king's armies, along with coordinating between them
and knight and reeve forces, serving as the primary decision maker in matters
of war, as the Justiciar and Earl Marshall serve as the final arbiter of
legal or domestic magical matters respectively.  Despite the Daravi usage of
mages, the conflict with them falls under the purview of the Lord General as
a foreign conflict.  His Majesty reserves the right to leave the position
unfilled in times of peace, but he requests the advisement of new Seneschal
Elisabetta dul Beaumont as to a candidate with the necessary knowledge of war
and ability to coordinate effectively with both the knights and reeves and
the feudal lords fielding his armies.

Early in the morning on Februarius 20th, the bells of Saint Danijel began to
peel their sorrowful tone, filling the southside with the knowledge that
someone important, important enough to deserve mourning, had died.

Hushed whispers filled the dark corners of the gambling halls and drug dens
in the slums.  Addicts, prostitutes, thieves, and everyday freefolk all
allowed melancholy to seep into their conversations.  Even the servants who
ventured north began to talk, allowing gentry and nobles alike to hear the
terrible news: Tenebrae was dead.  

How he died, was a mystery as dark and the black as the smoke that filled the
air coming from the Blind Horse.  For five days, cloaks marked with the black
hand filtered in and out of that notorious tavern until on Februarius 25th
the smoke turned white.  

No further mention was made of the dark days.  Everyone returned to minding
their own business.  Something had changed, however.  A hint of light as the
city marched towards spring and the rebirth of a new year.

Early on Maius 8th, 403, Queen Cristiana released a statement that she wishes
to sponsor a revitalization of the Royal Association of Historians, believing
as she does in the worthiness of their role.  To that end, she will put forth
a bounty totaling 15 gold crowns to be awarded to members for a work or works
celebrating the heritage of the Harmons royal line, on top of any value to be
obtained for the sale of such works, so long as a copy is provided for the
royal libraries.  Along with this comes the confirmation that the Royal
Seneschal may appoint new members to the association.  The funds will be
provided to the Seneschal, either to disperse or designate someone else to do
so.

fully IC to simplify the set-up for everyone.)

Unseasonable weather in Farin has set the Ravidoroa butterflies - a
beautiful, iridescent blue butterfly, onto a different path for their
migration between Farin and Vandago, bringing them once again through the
area of Lithmore, where they haven't been seen for several years.  In their
wake come the human followers that make use of the butterflies, following
their migration.  While the butterflies are in the area, most of these folks
are camped in tents out the west gate of town - and often happy to receive
visitors who might help them in tracking down more butterflies.

(OOC: We'll leave the butterflies and mobs in place through the holidays. 
The event mobs will react to saying 'I need a net' or 'who are you?', and you
can give any of them butterflies you collect (one at a time) for their
promised rewards.  Once you have a net, hold net and use net in the presence
of a butterfly - though you may need to try several times.  The butterflies
will be fluttering all over the grid in the meantime.) 

Karrin: So, because I was asked!  There are five tents, five mobs.  All of
them will react to you asking about the net.  Ask who they are as seen above.
I bet they all have different goodies.  Have fun finding who gives what!  

Temi - The last of the butterflies have made their way further north, and
those who follow them are expected to be on their way soon (if you have
butterflies to turn in still, get them over to the mobs soon).

Castellan Kalana mal Dymond, charged with the running of the new March of
Samralier after Lithmore's armies captured it from the Daravi, has begun
drumming up interest in founding a new school for the Daravi of her domain to
teach them Lithmorran values and the Davite religion.  The school is to be
built onto the already successful hospital, continuing a sort of community
center.  Supporters have begun recruiting potential teachers and establishing
lesson plans, as well as collecting supplies - both for the building
expansion itself and the new classes to be held.

The Royal Yule Feast of 403 was tragically interrupted mid-way through with
word rushed to His Royal Majesty.  The feasting petered quickly out in
shocked horror as the gathered people overheard word that the southern
Vavardi city of Capua had been attacked by the Daravi: a huge, magical
explosion left half of the city in flames and ruin, countless casualties and
Vavardi left homeless.  Furious, King Amir has called the people of Lithmore
to rally for a swift strike back against the Daravi, who have not seemed
inclined to actually capture the city, but left it to burn.  Despite caution
by the King's half-sister, the Princess Alessandra, and calls from Queen
Cristiana for humanitarian aid, it seems it is only the challenge of
transporting soldiers in the dead of winter that is staying the King's hand -
temporarily.

A quick, impromptu meeting of the King's council - what of it was already
present at the feast - has the notables of the city with orders to make
plans, recruit whatever allies they can, and get things in motion, ready to
strike forth as soon as spring comes around.

OOC: Plot advances will be processed after every rollover at the end of
Sunday, starting February 16th.  Limit to one plot per week with the same
character as lead (the owner of the plot and the main one driving what is
happening in its actions).  Each player should only get involved in one
thread of the plot with one character on their account - e.g.  The
retaliatory strike would be one thread, the humanitarian aid would be
another, more to come as things develop.  No issues with alts getting

Following the crisis in Capua and a period of holding the Trade Master as the
de facto leader of the Merchants, the guild has named Ambre dul Azadar as its
new Grand Magnate.  Though the widow comes out from a period of mourning and
having been expelled from the guild years ago by Daphne von Bravadi, the
entrance comes with no contest from current members and even support as the
appointment is seen as a foregone conclusion.  Some speculate that most
merchants would rather leave the burden of managing supplying the upcoming
crusade to someone else, and wonder if the woman will be up to the task.

As she's come to settle into being Earl Marshall, Valora, First Daughter of
Wren, has decided to put a renewed emphasis on the belt as the symbol of
station for a Knight Lithmorran.  Effective immediately all knights will
begin donning the newly designed belt and belting will receive greater focus
as part of Knight accepting their duty.  The new design is to prominently
bear chalice and crossed swords emblem of the knights so that it is
unmistakable who has taken the oath.  

(OOC: Spurs will no longer give the K symbol - if you come across one in game
that does, please report it on the typo board and staff will fix it.  Spurs
always have been acceptable for all people to wear - especially makes sense
if they are those who work with horses in medieval times - but did get
associated with knights prominently for a good while.  This offically changes
the knight symbol from the spur to the belt.)

As spring quickly approaches, the king has raised armies to face the Daravi
who destroyed much of the Vavardi city of Capua, pressing many nobles to feed
their ranks from across their domains, while others are put in place in the
capital to maintain the kingdom while he himself plans to head off to Capua
at their head.  With plans in place to leave soon after Spring Awakening, the
troops are starting to be gathered in Eastgale, readying to cross the sea. 


Word comes from across the sea in Vavard, reporting that the rebuilding of
Capua is underway, but slow going, and many Capuans have set forth to other
Vavardi cities, now overwhelmed with refugees and, in many cases, turning
them away, leaving the unfortunate people with little choice but to continue
on to the next.

OOC: Plot advances will be processed after every rollover at the end of
Sunday, starting February 16th.  Limit to one plot per week with the same
character as lead (the owner of the plot and the main one driving what is
happening in its actions).  Each player should only get involved in one
thread of the plot with one character on their account - e.g.  The

With the declaration of His Royal Majesty and the intent on gathering in
Capua in strength, the Baroness of Dusollini begins to gather and hire work
crews and supplies for a two-pronged effort at easing some of the burden on
the upcoming military actions.

Working with the Lady Seneschal dul Beaumont, they seek properties within the
city of Lithmore presently in arrears to the Crown that might require some
repair and attention to be able to host refugees and immigrants, allowing
them a home as they find their footing again.  Following this, with the
spring winds changed on the Kirulean, an effort is made to gather supplies to
bolster the rebuilding efforts in Capua.

Aprilis 404 and the King and his armies have reportedly made it to the ruined
city of Capua amid rebuilding efforts and refugees seeking passage to
anywhere not quite as over-extended.  Pigeons come racing ahead of the
portion of the ships headed home, bringing word that the ships are laden with
refugees who will be seeking a new life.  Onboard them are a few more Capuans
than had intended to try their luck in the capital.  Apparently, the king
commandeered several newly built structures as barracks for his armies,
putting out those who had expected to live in them.  Resentment threads
through the messages that they send, none feeling as if they can do anything.
The other ships remain at the king's disposal, sending scouting missions and
searching for signs of the Daravi responsible, but frustration underlies
those reports as well - the armies as yet have identified no targets.

With the combined efforts of many, supplies have been gathered for the
rebuilding efforts in Capua and housing prepared and prepped for the refugees
arriving to Lithmore proper.  While perhaps a small part of the effort needed
to return the bustling port to its former glory, it gives the hope that the

Across May and June 404, many Capuan refugees began to arrive in Lithmore,
brought up the Bren from Eastgale.  Housing had been prepared for them in
many households across the Vavardi Quarter and in public buildings, but they
quickly filled all of these spaces.  Once the available buildings had been
fully occupied, city leadership began to arrange for encampments of tents
outside the city gates.  Much is being done to assure they are taken care of
and that enough food is being procured, but there are already worries of
feeding all in the city come the winter.  Much has been done by the
leadership in the capital to make the refugees feel welcome and that the city
understands their plight, but not all have been so understanding.  Discontent
is high among the refugees about the reactions of the king and his
callousness for their suffering.  They whisper that Amir's greatest concerns
seem to be the fact that the Daravi continue to evade him and the insult to
himself caused by their attack on Capua.

In an attempt to assuage current residents of the Holy City with the influx
of Vavardi refugees from Capua, the Lady Seneschal Elisabetta dul Beaumont
and the Troubadours, led by Poet Laudate Aurele op Beaumont and Lady Theodora
op Arcenant, are hosting a cultural exchange between Lithmore and Vavard. 
Cooking and brewing classes, lectures on shared interests like trade and
finery, as well as dancing and sparring events can be found to unite the
refugee camp and it's host city.

After a few trials and errors, the Lady Seneschal and the Troubadours were
able to show the city of Lithmore, it's citizens, and the Capuan refugees
that came to it a new sense of kinship.  An appreciation for local and

as those of different races have found friendship, or at least camaraderie.

In Augustus 404, word comes again from Capua, but this time, the message is a
different one.  Rather than detailing the atrocities that they have suffered,
the order of the day is instead that the people there have had enough and are
now standing up for themselves.  King Amir has abandoned Capua, moving on to
Queen's Landing, leaving Commander Bellamy ab Thorpe with orders to muster
Capuans of fighting age and condition to join the main army for an assault
against Daravi.  However, the people of Capua have resisted, protesting the
leaving of their city uprotected and much of it still in ruins - and many of
their family members are already in Amir's army as volunteers.  Commander ab
Thorpe was sent ignominiously fleeing from the city in its state of
rebellion, the orders refused.  The sentiment is already said to be rippling
through the rest of Vavard with whispered echoes of it to be heard in other
domains as well: the refugees camped in the capital, of course, but also
among commoners in Vandago City and Montford with no direct attachment to
Vavard.
