A troupe of bards, calling themselves the Sparrows, has begun
travellingthe countryside around Lithmore city, making stops at taverns and
innsabout the area, as well as several noble courts. Witnesses of
theirperformances speak of the excellent music and the recitation of
rivettingepic poetry coupled with declarations of admiration of Lady
Herazade abChevalier and her bid for the throne. As the group's sightings
become more frequent, the Lady's regard amongstsome of the lesser nobility
and gentry, as well as the common man, slowlybegins to rise.

It started in Mont Innes, the home county of House Chevalier and
thenquickly began to spread to nearby domains and soon to the city of
Lithmoreitself. It was a simple practice, taken up by the poor and the
rich alike; tying a yellow ribbon around their arm, to their clothing or
attached tothe hilt of a weapon. It wasn't mentioned outright, but any of
them thatwere asked about it soon answered what it meant. To wear the
yellow ribbonwas to support the regent candidacy of Herazade ab Chevalier,
the Queen'saunt. Before long it was seen amongst the Knights Lithmorran
and on many atravelling troubadour, as well as a small but growing
smattering of thenobility.

The hot seat position of Justiciar appears to be switching hands yet
again with the announced resignation of Katarina de Winter. In the late
morning of Arendas, Maritus 26 a new and ambitious Justiciar by the name of
October ab Peacecraft came to Lithmore personally to fulfill the role, and
keep the Reeves from a long period of an absence of leadership. The new
Justiciar spoke assuredly to a small crowd that the safety of Lithmore
along with the stability of the Reeves will continue to rise in the coming
months. There will also be new internal and external procedures which will
be in effect after meeting with her colleagues, something she refers to as
the Rise of the Reeves.

As of late caravans of wagons have been seen moving out of Lothos.
Among these caravans one was headed through Lithmore and made a stop in the
southside bringing newly made blankets and preserved food for those in the
southside. Along with the blankets and food loads of split firewood
washanded out to the southsiders and northsiders alike. When the caravan
managers were asked they said that all of Lothos is working to support
Countess ab Vortina in her candidacy for Regent. The caravans were paid
and provided for by the countess along with the food prepared by the
Vortina estate cooks. It is notable that the caravan workers were seen
wearing small steel pins in the shape of the Vortina house seal, A rapier
wrapped in vines, along their cuffs in support of the countess.

Her Holiness Carmen de Medina issued the following statement:

"After examination of the pertinent facts of the case, the Holy Order of
Dav has decreed that the marriage of Tharin ab Rhius and Brienne Catan was
entirely legal and in force when initially entered upon, but was dissolved
when Sir ab Rhius was declared dead by the Reeves.
As such, the marriage of Brienne Catan to Sir Haidar de Abn'zahi is
entirely correct and does not offend the precepts of the faith, as widows
and widowers are allowed to remarry freely. All children born to both
unions are fully legitimate and recognized.
Sir Tharin ab Rhius is also free, in the Order's eyes, to remarry if he so
chooses."
It is thought this statement may have been prompted by gossip throughout
the city, but the Order is so far mum on the impetus behind the
announcement.

It would seem that 'Lady' Merlia ab Trenica is quite as pure as she
would like us all to believe. Word has been spreading like wildfire, that
she was caught in the Private Dining room at Bluebirds in a rather
'precarious' position. With a member of her guard, actually. I've heard
of love between soldiers, but I think this might have been going just a
little past a family sort of affection, if you know what I mean... I do
remember hearing something about how she believe in marriage being all
about a contract, how there was no such thing as love between nobles. I
guess she's been busy having a little fling on the side. I certainly don't
want someone who ignores the words of the Erra Pater looking after the
interests of the young Princess Royal, or Lithmore as a whole. We are a
Davite Kingdom, after all.

In the wake of the public debate at the Wine Festival, Lord Ariel le
Orban dul Damassande - former Keeper of the Seal under Queen Cellan ab
Samael - has at last broken his silence. "I wished to give the other
candidates a fair chance to present their cases, but in the end, the Lady
ab Chevalier has clearly distinguished herself. Her vested interest in
supporting the young Queen, her political experience and her shrewd
intelligence strongly recommend her to the position of the regency. I
would urge all who have remained undecided in this contest to consider the
case of the Lady ab Chevalier, whose storied name, personal history and
impeccable behavior cannot be denied." In the wake of this statement's
release, some courtiers of the previous regime do seem to be flocking to
the Lady ab Chevalier's side - though others, perhaps wary of the
notoriously eccentric nobleman's opinions, remain undecided.

Count Arynon von Eclen, formerly Baron von Eclen, announced his support
of Lady ab Chevalier. " The Lady ab Chevalier has my full support in the
candidacy for Regent. She knows what she is doing, and has the support of
the former Queen herself. She also knows that this is only temporary until
the Queen takes the throne."

Flat-bottomed trade-cogs flying flags of green and blue arrived at
Lithmore's eastern docks, sitting deep with cargo. When the local
dockworkers began unloading the ships, they found special treasures
destined for the countless commonfolk in all parts of the city: strongly
hopped beer, well-preserved meats and vegetables, and medical supplies to
treat the many afflictions of the unwashed and underfed masses. "Strong
wind and calm seas!" Arose a cry, starting at the docks near Southside but
spreading quickly to commoners throughout the city. "Strong wind and calm
seas," the motto of House Valareaux now being chanted between pleasant
greetings and daily prayers.
