There should be a way to set your pshop to purchase a some items that you decide, at a price you decide. Like if you're a blacksmith, maybe you set it up so you purchase horseshoes, to be melted down for iron bars, etc.

My understanding is mobprogs have that capability. You just have to ask for it (and communicate it to players somehow).

Also I'd absolutely love to see people make use of this.
