HTML colors
I haven't seen this since the first mud I ever joined and it's something I've longed for every since I came across it. I would love to see HTML colors introduced. I know it isn't a huge thing, but just from the crafters side (and the buyers side) having html colors to work with for restringing would allow so much more variation and precision. For instance, right now you can't do a decent orange to save your life in the current color scheme. I would love to be able to have it. I know this isn't a high priority thing, but it is that sort of quality of life thing that would be really nice and also set us apart.

This would be great, even if it just uses the 3-digit colors instead of 6-digits, e.g. {#abc. That still gives over 4k colors to use, and less work rounding to fall back for users who turn the feature off (because their clients don't show it, or they don't like it, or whatever).
The full {#abcdef would be like 16.7mil colors, which could make for some awesome full outfit shading but is maybe overkill.

Yeah I don't think we need like 4k colors, but having 256 colors would be -so- amazing for those who love color with their restringing and being able to color outfits. Plus with the 16 colors we have right now, I have found (and others have mentioned it as well) that my blue may not be your blue may not be the other guys blue because sometimes people adjust it client side in order to find the colors they want. 256 colors might be a way to erase the need for doing that!

256 colors would only be two dimensions, e.g. #ab. The shorthand #abc gives you 16x16x16=4096 colors.
I agree that 256 is more than enough colors, hell 32 would probably fill in all of the gaps we really need. But then it's not HTML/CSS colors, you would need a new way to define it that doesn't require the RGB type of input.

I also agree 32 is probably perferable to 256, the idea number of colors being somewhere in the 20-30s range, imho. Still, I'm not terribly worried about that so much as about giving Az the necessary info to know how to set it up and make it work.
Along with this, I'd love to see things like underlining, italics and bold.

If you force restrict the values to multiples of 3, you get 216 colors. Full chart here:

Not sure there's an easy way to to 32 colors, at least not with CSS style color strings. We could just add random letters and keep the existing one-character system, like add {f {F {h {H {j {J etc. until we hit 32, but those won't be as easy to remember as "{g for green, {r for red".
I just tested and they still both work, but they were removed from the helpfile some years back because I think the imms were afraid of some kind of misuse (descriptions with bell sounds or something, dunno). So just in case, I won't mention what they are here >.>
