GL IP and City Metrics

This came from a discussion we were having in Court chat about influence points and GL's. The idea was that GL's as well as their guild functions are often a political role and at very least they have some support if they are GL. I know in the past there has been concern about it being too easy to oust a guildleader, so why not attach a minor IP boost to guild leaders?
But why not go further than that? I know Staff has been wanting to incorporate city metrics into things, so you could tie city metrics into how much IP the guild leaders get. If things are doing poorly, they get a smaller portion, but if they are active and their guild gets things done and the metrics go up, it will give them a greater IP boost. For the court GL's you could base it on race relations to represent the dukes and their own individual degree of relation to the court.
I am not saying make it a big giant boost, but a small bit of one to represent the native political power being a GL grants you. We could then also make IP further useable by perhaps tieing it in to some types of plot advances? The ones that are more political where you are trying to influence people as opposed to other forms of currency?
