A few suggested changes to the cover scent:
Remove the decay, but make it an apply, 2 charges, with a 6 OOC hour washable affect. Tacking on the message when looking in the room: $e reeks of smelly animals.

Make city NPCs react to people wearing it with various disgusted taunts, similar to B&G, and have gentry-type shops refuse service to anyone wearing it.

The idea of making it an apply was mentioned to Niamh when cover scent was first added and she mentioned codedly it couldn't be done currently because the wildlife use scripts that don't recognize affects like that. The item essentially works because it's a coded item held in your inventory.

I rather like the idea of NPCs reacting to you smelling like a fool though, and gentry or above shopkeepers turning their nose up at you.
