Right now you have to be in a shop room to set prices on things. Could this be changed so you can price from anywhere? It's not an urgent change but I am hoping it is also not difficult to adjust. I like to take crafting work with me when I'm RPing, or even when I'm crafting solo I'm usually not in the backroom, so this would be a change that just generally increases convenience thus, also increases my overall contentedness as a crafter player.

I agree only being able to use the price command in certain rooms is rather inconvenient.

I'm not sure of the reason it was implemented like that though, there could be a good reason I'm unaware of.

Add on to Pricing stuff: Seeing how much something would be to retool for you via appraise.

It already does at higher levels of appraise. - Oh, you mean specifically for you? Like if you've made an item so would only cost 1s to retool?
Maybe useful. But there's already a workaround. If you put all your silver in a container and try to retool, it'll tell you the price. Unfortunately, that doesn't work for the scribe command, so there's no way to know for sure how much something will cost to scribe.
