I suggested this a while back in an OOC conversation. Think it got shot down because it didn't have enough pros compared to cons? Bringing it back up again because it's been a bit of an annoyance to me for two plots now that the Brotherhood could have done, but that I won't do because it will draw attention to who I play through the current storyteller code.
Basically, I'd like the option to have your name show up as 'Anonymous' or 'Covert' in 'story list' when running a story plot. I realize that it is OOC information, but speaking from the perspective of a covert GL, I've become really paranoid and would rather not give people the chance to abuse information in the first place, rather than trusting them.
Yes, that's probably the most cynical thing to say, but I know I'm not alone in thinking it. There are probably a lot of good plots that people would like to run, but which would OOCly tell everyone 'Hey, I'm evil/mage/you should find a way to kill me eventually'.
On a side note, after seeing the storyteller code in action, the main thing stopping me from joining actively in other stories is the lack of information before I hit that 'join' button. Now, I don't know what happens after you hit it. Maybe it gives you a little bit about the story and asks if you're sure you want to join it, that'd be great. But if a little small blurb could be attached to the stories on 'story list' that'd be a great way to get people in. It could be optional, too.
Anonymous Story Plots
There is a small blurb about the stories if you type... I think it's 'story review #' to see?
As for the anonymous option, it'd be hard to program given how it was originally programmed, which is the main reason the first time you raised it, we vetoed it.
