Last week, I was fairly absent due to massive amounts of work. I settled a few policy disputes (thank you, players, for having excellent cnotes) and reviewed a lot of requests. I've written some things up for the request boards, nothing major though - mostly stuff like making gnotes searchable without color code interference."

Kinaed states, "Please note: One of the reasons we're preparing and cycling up nobles atm is that there is a regency quest scheduled for August."


Carmen claims, "Ohhh, I forgot we would be doing that again, somehow."

Kinaed says Samantha, "Not exactly, but pretty close. I think it's a discussion for closer to the event, however, as that's not precisely nailed down."

Kinaed says, "Everyone, please let me introduce Nedyra, a new staffer. I can't remember if he was in last meeting, but he's taken on a building role."

Temi states, "We have gotten an introduction in for him, but you might have missed that one a couple weeks ago."

Carmen asks, "We can still only own one house a person, right? ;)"

Nedyra says, "Some of these places have some pretty nifty IC history. It'd be a wicked shame to have to toast them, so we're giving them a chance to live another life in new, hopefully relatively wealthy hands."


Beronica claims, "I'm just bummed that I put in a bid for one of the places and it won't go through."

Aios states Kinaed, "That would be awesome, just knowing the amount so we know if we stand a chance at collecting enough. If it says like 3750 but someone's already bid 8k, etc."

Nedyra claims Kinaed, "It's definitely something we're tracking already on the staff side. We could probably do something up for the IC side, sure."

Kinaed states a rangy, darkly tanned fellow with backswept hair, "In large part because we control noble to normal player populations, and we saw a lot of new players coming in and had several "dead but could be re-awakened" nobles. Their participating in the regency quest wasn't really much of a concern because most didn't the previous one, but that too is something I wouldn't want - them only becoming active for a short period and preventing existing players from being able to move up."


Maxwell claims, "RP has been alright for me, though I find I'm always looking for it, constantly."


A tall, muscular male with red hair and green eyes claims, "I have been RPing about across the place, despite the game being relatively empty when I have a lot of spare time I quite enjoy it. I seem to just park up in a location and wait for someone to find me."


Lando claims, "Very busy with life and upcoming changes. RP's been so-so. Lately it's been feast and famine - a ton of people in a room, so I avoid that, or time where I suppose people are off doing surreptitious things."


Kinaed says, "What is a concern is that we couldn't create NEW nobles for the regency quest without clearing out the old."

Kinaed says, "We have 3 more slots, albeit one of our approved applicants isn't in play yet."


Samantha asks, "Alright now this is not exactly forgery but new skills that are added in general. Well given that staff may add new skills do you plan on allowing people to have a chance to purchase some ranks in said skill if icly appropiate since it is a new skill? For example if you had a brotherhood member would they be given the option to purchase some ranks in forgery?"


Maxwell declaims, "Maxwell le Wattkil for Noble, 362!"


Maxwell states, "Eheheh."


Lando says, "My recommendation is that you only play a noble if you have a character idea beyond "I'm a noble," mind you. Trust me when I say that, unless you're good at self-generating ideas, they can get old."

Kinaed states Samantha, "Usually yes, but it depends on the skill, and I haven't considered that for forgery."

Samantha muses, "Alrighty the whole auctioning bit has brought to mind something that has irked me for a while now. I personally have a character who would love to sell there home but... well when we hand it over to staff for the real estate board it's like.. we don't get anything in return do we? I would like to see perhaps getting half of what you spent back as a reasonable amount"


"If it could be so kind," Maxwell's assassin asks politely, "Would you mind it if I happened to spill your various organs out upon the ground in a few moments?" [Maxwell]


Samantha states, "I mean i am sure selling it back to the crown would make sense"


Temi states, "When you give it to us to put on the real estate board, I believe we pay you when someone buys it."


Kinaed questions, "I don't have an issue with people selling their house to the Crown, but I don't see why you wouldn't get anything for putting it on the market at the Real Estate office either?"


Kinaed says, "We haven't done it before, but mostly because we haven't been asked to my knowledge."

Nedyra says, "There's nothing official in place for doing that yet, but we can talk that over after the chat, since it would most likely end up on my desk."


Temi claims, "We don't want to make it too easy to just turn in houses and get money back, though. There's a lot of staff time that goes into making and handling houses and they aren't just liquid assets."

Kinaed nods at Nedyra.


Kinaed says, "Let's add selling phomes to a help file somewhere and make this stuff clear."

Kinaed nods at Temi.


Kinaed states, "I agree with that."


Beronica claims, "Sometimes though, the character is gone before someone decides to buy the house, but their widow or something is still alive that could benefit from the sale."


Kinaed states, "So we'll facilitate a sale, but won't create an auto-sale function."


Nedyra claims, "We already have documentation up here on property transfers (again, thanks Hera), so working out the rest of it shouldn't be too tricky."


Samantha states, "True... but when you have sunk over 10000 silver into a home and you see Nothing in return when you decide to perhaps want to move into a fancier place.. well it is a bit discouraging.. I mean unless of course you icly wrecked the place it should still have some market value"


Lando muses, "What's stopping you from posting a note somewhere and exchanging the key for money?"


Samantha trails off, "And waiting for someone to buy your old home... well most characters don't live that long"


Kinaed says, "If a person has a will, and the house is transferred, I'd give over the silver. If it's unofficial because no on lodged a will with the Reeves, I'd say they'd be SOL."

Nedyra claims Samantha, "The thing we're seeing now is there are a bunch of properties who's owners are inactive or dead."


Herazade says, "Just an interjecting reminder (don't need to interrupt), everyone go vote for TI now/after the meeting. Ber is giving free hugs for votes. See 'help vote'"

Kinaed claims Lando, "Nothing at all."

Kinaed states Lando, "And if people do that, and alert the staff, we'll move the taxes."


Nedyra says, "I have no problem if someone decides they want to sell their place to the real estate office. Just let me work out the specifics first."

Lando states Kinaed, "That's just what I'm confused about, and I wonder if this is just resulting from a misunderstanding."


Temi claims, "I think the issue comes from people not being able to sell it, and they want to have another house instad, but one house limit."


Samantha shrugs "The thing that is stopping me is who would buy it... most of your richer characters who could afford it already have a fancy mansion of their own... why give up theirs for a new one

Lando says Samantha, "Get the Reeves and/or the Merchants to execute a note, and have someone on the hook for payments. You might not get a ton of money, but you'd get some, and then you can break kneecaps."

Kinaed wonders, "We have 15 minutes left for our meetings - is it okay if I raise something?"

Nedyra clears his throat. "All the specifics will be worked out for selling properties. This isn't something we've delt with, so we'll need to establish boundaries." Then, kicks the floor at Kinaed.

Kinaed says, "I want to raise that I intend to change how influence points and GL approval barometers work."

Kinaed claims, "With the success of the IC Events board during the Regency Quest, I intend to pull the GL barometers out of the rumor system and use the IC_Event posts for Barometer hits, etc, with two points of addition: 1. People should be able to give one another IP, and 2. IP can't accumulate the way it is now - I intend to reset it to 0 every week and re-calculate what people receive each week based on their standing that week."


Carmen says, "Hmmm."


Kinaed says, "This will allow people to pool IP to, for example, ICly instigate a GL vote of no confidence, etc, and remove it from just being a catty chat behind someone's back."

Aios asks Kinaed, "Would you still be able to convert QP to IP before a hit (for or against someone)?"

Kinaed nods at Aios.


Carmen states, "That rate might have to change, though."

Beronica queries, "Are you aiming for a more political game?"

Temi claims, "I'm still a bit concerned with a complete reset every week, encouraging things having to move over a short time span of a week. And not even over a whole weekend."


Herazade claims, "That will keep people needing to be much more proactive about support."

Aios says, "Maybe if it's for ousting vs not ousting a GL, there should also be more weight given to IP spent by members of that same guild. Not sure how that would be incorporated into the new way, but."

Aios claims, "As far as spreading two rumors, in theory you could just get 5 people to all start one rumor apiece, and have them all going simultaneously. So the one per person isn't so much an issue."

Carmen claims Kinaed, "The rumor would have never disappeared after all the comments, so I never would have been able to disapprove again without a 2nd rumor."


Temi states, "We really love the rumor system still. It's not going anywhere. It just had the approval system tied into it, and we'r finding some issues with that."

Kinaed says Carmen, "Probably a bit subtle for a discussion point on the matter. You're not in any policy strife."

Kinaed claims, "It's not that a GL can be ousted, it's that the default mode for it is rumors, and rumors are something a lot of people hate to participate in."


Carmen says, "I've had a lot of people acting like I'm doing something untoward or wrong because it's rumors."

Temi says, "People are acting in ways they don't want to because of how the system works."


Kinaed states, "It's different of an influence event like Chloe staging a massacre in a rival's name, for example, which is far more reasonable for an IC Event that might oust a GL."

Kinaed claims, "A lot of poeple don't like rumors or want to gossip because of how it affects their character and their perception of their character, but it's the only way for them to participate."
