----------------------------------------------

Kinaed muses, "Today's Agenda is:

- Staff Updates
- Player Heartbeat
- Player Topics

Is there anything anyone would like to add to the agenda to make certain we discuss it today?"

Rimilde plucks some of the skeleton's bones off the thread that holds them together before putting them in her mouth.

Kinaed pontificates, "I hear crickets chirping, so onward!"

You do not see that here.

Kinaed states, "I'll kick off Staff Updates."

Kinaed has transferred Thanael. [OOC]

Temi gives a little skeleton with small bones carved from candied nuts to Thanael.

Kinaed states to Thanael, "This is an OOC room."

Thanael states, "Cool."

Kinaed claims, "This week, I cleared some boards, took a look at the statistical reasons people die most - noted that we tend to actually have concentrations of PKillers."

Azarial puts a dusty leather tome etched with crude symbols in pico, a text editor.

Fianna questions, "Like they emerge in bursts?"

Kinaed says, "That means that, yes, there are certain actual players who are more inclined to kill people than others, across their alts. Primary cause of death is usually the Order, but probably more like 2/3 rather than 90%. The highest rated PKer on TI has 15 kills to their name, the 2nd highest 14, but the average is significantly lower."

Fianna trails off, "Huh. Interesting..."

Kinaed says to Fianna, "Sort of, but mostly because a given character seems to be murderous."

Fianna wonders, "Galen, right?"

Leofrick laughs.

Kinaed exclaims to Fianna, "How did you guess?!"

Fianna pontificates, "Psychic!"

Thanael says, "I would assume that the Order killing off people is business as usual. I don't know about any specific players though, I've yet to run into one."

Kinaed says, "This week, there wasn't much policy - thank you all for being generally congenial towards one another and not fighting OOCly too muh."

Kinaed nods at Thanael.

Drueta says, "I think that people who do antagonism tend to not be on much of a sliding scale; it's hard to be the bad guy. Some players excel, some don't."

Temi says, "And I think it's also less that we have certain players that are bloodthirsty, and more that a lot of others might shy away from it more."

Kinaed claims, "My main focuses are still automating the jail experience to reduce jail time and roles."

Drueta says, "+1, Temi."

Kinaed nods.

Kinaed says, "Definitely."

Kinaed claims, "People who tend to be bloodthirsty tend to be across alts."

Kinaed says, "That's it for me. Azarial, you're up."

Kinaed claims, "Oh yeah, started working on diseases. Check the forums for polls and topical posts about how we might approach diseases (sorry, Az)."

Azarial claims, "An assortment of smaller bugs this week in and around some of the last pieces of the city metric mods I can do now without further specs. those tools are in the hands of the builders, so progs will be shifting some."

Kinaed has transferred Silrie. [OOC]

Temi gives a little skeleton with small bones carved from candied nuts to Silrie.

Azarial says, "And putting back mobs, becuase I managed to snag a copy of the entire static world right after it barfed so i can find where they went."

Azarial claims, "But I am not going to comb the entire thing looking for missing mobs; i don;t hvae the time for that.,"

Azarial says, "I'm looking on a room by room bsais, or mob vnum when somehting is placed wrong"

Kinaed nods at Azarial.

Kinaed says, "Looking at the Changes Board, the only thing interesting - mages, if you haven't tried vision of leagues lately, you may want to test it, we've "bug fixed" it."

Kinaed claims to Temi, "You're up :)"

Temi says, "Bit more on rat plot - that should be about ready to wrap up depending on the actions at the event today."

Silrie pontificates, "Rat bridage!"

Silrie states, "I can't spell."

Silrie cries.

Kinaed comforts Silrie.

Kinaed says to Silrie, "Me neither."

Temi pontificates, "Also did some more work on preparation for the coronation. You should have another week if you want to submit designs for the competition to be the designer that Caitrin wears!"

Kinaed has transferred Corey. [OOC]

Temi gives a little skeleton with small bones carved from candied nuts to Corey.

Temi says, "I haven't received any submissions yet, but I'm assuming it will take a little bit of prep time for those interested."

Temi claims, "And I put together an initial proposal for a simple traits system, which I think still needs some discussion up in staffland."

Kinaed nods at Temi.

Fianna muses, "Traits system?"

Temi says, "But we may have that to show you guys for comment soon."

Kinaed says, "I saw it, liked it, need to comment."

Kinaed states to Fianna, "We want to move away from using intros to describe people in code because we feel they're too exact and give out OOC info."

Temi says, "Hair color, eye color, etc, to help in systems that will anonymize people more than their intros"

Thanael makes the sign of the chalice.

Fianna nods.

Corey states, "Interesting."

Temi claims, "And that's about me for this week, I think."

Riannan claims, "Would this then, generate a person's desc for them as well? I mean muds where I've had that where you choose your traits, tend to make your desc for you as well."

Kinaed says, "Yeah, so that RPA or guild alerts might say 'a brown-eyed woman' rather than 'a statuesque woman with hazelnut eyes'"

Kinaed claims to Riannan, "Nope."

Fianna questions, "Could you still be able to set your intro to something specific, but the alerts would pick up the traits you have set instead?"

Temi claims, "You'd still do your own intro and desc and all that. You'd be unique when people sell you, but if you get reportd for a crime or something, they won't be able to describe you uniquely."

Fianna states, "Oh awesome. Perfect."

Kinaed states to Riannan, "Just some traits that should align to your desc, and can be covered over with objects, like hair dye."

Temi claims, "AHem, see you, not sell you."

Temi states, "Not that we're working a secret slave trade or anything. Cough."

Fianna eyes Temi warily.

Kinaed trails off, "I do have that black market spec around here somewhere..."

Riannan states, "Hmm sounds... interesting? My head is too small to wrap around it, but I'm sure it will eventually."

Kinaed rummages.

Fianna panics.

Silrie states, "Oooh"

Silrie hugs Fianna.

Kinaed claims, "Joking! Well, not, I do have one of those somewhere."

Temi claims to Kinaed, "But you didn't put people in it, I think. Maybe you forgot. Anyway, that's me."

Kinaed has transferred Alyce. [OOC]

Silrie hides behind Fianna. "No more slaveryyyy!"

Temi gives a little skeleton with small bones carved from candied nuts to Alyce.

Kinaed grins.

Kinaed nods at Temi.

Thanael holds a thick book labeled 'Erra Pater' in his hand.

Riannan exclaims to Alyce, "You made it!"

Kinaed asks, "I think that's all for staff updates today. Any questions before we move on?"

Fianna claims, "Just a huge +1 to the traits system. That will be so nice."

Kinaed smiles at Fianna.

Kinaed says, "Temi's idea."

Fianna slow-motion high-fives Temi!

Alyce asks trait system? I've missed something big havent i?

Corey claims, "Agreed. Addresses my main completes with order and reeve batphone npcs"

Kinaed questions, "Okay, Player Heartbeat - how has the game been this week, folks? Anything shitting you that you want to raise to staff?"

Leofrick claims, "Interesting.. terrifying, I loved it."

Riannan claims, "Nothing shitty, but rp has just been... meh. Hard to find honestly. I've now taken to bothering cyans over tells, see if they want to do scenes. Nothing to be done about it, but yeah. It's just been meh."

Fianna states, "I was curious if there were any more thoughts on progressing with masonry, but beyond that nope."

Alyce I have noticed more bar public room rp this week. I am much happier for it D Since I had the problem before of noone doing them. I mean it's still not hugely common but at least it's happening.

Temi declares to Alyce, "We'll explain in more detail before anything happens with it! It's only in initial idea state"

Kinaed has transferred Fyurii. [OOC]

Rimilde says, "A nice mix of action and dialogue. "

Temi gives a little skeleton with small bones carved from candied nuts to Fyurii.

Corey claims, "RP's been great here for me. Good mix of everything."

Silrie states, "Mine's been... pretty slow, but I've had a lot of meaningful scenes that really make up for it."

Azarial peers about intently, then chases her tails once, twice, thrice--she's gone! [OOC]

Fianna mauls Silrie.

Thanael claims, "I don't know my way around the city. Not sure what to do or where to find people. Mostly I just go about reading descriptions on things."

Kinaed claims, "Nothing on masonry. I think that was recently discussed and generally disliked on the forums, so it's been pushed down the priority queue (though I still like it, so we're likely to see it one day eventually)."

Silrie states to Fianna, "Oo baby."

Fianna nodnods.

Elizabethany says, "Some craziness in RL, but I'm excited about the event today"

Silrie grins.

Riannan claims, "Yeah, it's been better this week, than it has been in the previous two weeks, but still it falls in the meh catagory not the phenominal category."

Fianna states to Thanael, "Make ample use of "where" to track folks down, and then "travel <room name>"! Helps a ton."

Silrie pontificates to Kinaed, "I like masonry!"

Silrie shoves masonry back up the roster.

Alyce nods to Riannan "Lets hope next week there's even more! Hopefully it is on a steady climb etc."

Fianna states, "I still keenly remember finding out about "travel" a month after joining. Bestday."

Kinaed wonders, "I find it hard to imagine that you're having problems finding RP. Our activity has been up, well over 30 players at peak times. Is it that no one is showing on whererp?"

Riannan claims, "Yes, or they're all in their homes where players can't go."

Thanael states, "Travel is the only way I can find anything. Even with the Help City Map on my second screen."

"I'm pretty bad about where personally." Corey says with a shrug [Corey]

Silrie has noticed all the little newblings darting around who.

Alyce says "It's often hard to find where scenes are going on. We've found a lot of times there have been people but nothing on 'where' which sucks."

Kinaed states, "I think we might take some time as staff (when Elzenn is back from holidays) to enact that discussion we had about phomes being off whereRP by default, unless otherwise requested by their owners."

Kinaed nods at Alyce.

Alyce adds "My problem could also be having a GMT timezone, I usually miss peak times. Even though Riannan has been doing her best to keep me up when I should be sleeping."

Kinaed states, "Well, people - please do come out of your homes and turn on whereRP, help one another find a play partner. :)"

Riannan states, "No no, it's not just your time zone. it happens regardless of what time, because I'm on all the time."

Kinaed grins.

Thanael states, "There's only ever a handful of people showing for the 'where' thing. The time I travelled to one where it said there was a person there, it was empty but it now said '2'. Not sure what to make of it."

Kinaed nods at Alyce.

Fyurii nods at Thanael.

Riannan claims, "It happens, hopefully it'll get better, it's just been glacial. I'm sure it'll get better."

Kinaed trails off, "That's pretty weird..."

Fianna muses to Kinaed, "Maybe astral people?"

Alyce claps approvingly "I for one will do my best to be in public rooms with where on to show others that someone is somewhere awaiting rp. I have also been tempted to ask on ooc if anyone wants a scene when I cannot find anything."

Kinaed nods at Fianna.

Silrie has a trigger set when she logs in that turns where off, but if I'm up for rp, I do turn it on. Or it automatically goes on if I"m in a hotspot.

Kinaed says, "It's fine to ask on OOC if people want to scene."

Thanael claims, "Mostly I'm unsure of how to interact with NPCs."

Riannan states, "Yeah, I've taken to poking at cyans, because if I'm having trouble, they would too."

Alyce adds "Good to hear. I shall make sure to use that ;) Also pestering newbies sounds fun, be good to help out newer folk if they're feeling lost."

Kinaed claims to Thanael, "You don't really, unless you contact a staff member and are willing to pay for puppeting (HELP RPA and HELP VNPC)."

Kinaed nods at Alyce.

Thanael muses, "What about shopkeepers and the like?"

Temi states, "Ah, there's special commands to deal with them, like list and buy"

You do not see that here.

Kinaed claims, "Exactly the same - you can buy their goods or use general automated commands, but if you want to RP with a VNPC, you'll need a staff member to puppet them, and we charge for our services."

Kinaed nods at Temi.

Silrie grins at Kinaed.

Kinaed says, "List, buy, I think you can 'shop appraise' or 'browse' also."

Alyce casually pays qp for puppets so I don't have to be alone.

Silrie states, "Awwws."

Silrie hugs Alyce.

Kinaed states, "We charge because there's only, like, 5 staff and we have heaps of work."

Kinaed wonders, "Okay, let's see. That's Player Heartbeat - anyone have anything further to add before we move to topics?"

Thanael claims, "Ah, okay. I just wanted to know how to possibly buy things, in case I need light or a weapon."

Fianna states to Thanael, "Alms house chest is good for lights, too. Lots of candles in there."

Alyce thinks before saying "nothing off the top of my head."

Temi claims, "Yep! There's commands for that. Feel free to ask on visnet if you ever don't know how to do something it seems like you should be able to do"

Kinaed claims, "Oh, try 'list' at a mob to see what they sell. 'Buy #' will purchase an item, and check out shop appraise to get a good idea of what the object's statistics are like."

Alyce adds "Ooh I love the recent spike in magery too! I got to fight and arrest a mage on one of my chars. It was really fun D Nice to see folks doing the conflicty and against the law shit. I feel we don't have enough of that."

Kinaed nods at Temi.

Silrie donates candles just cause she's got like over a hundred hunks of wax...

Kinaed says, "Please remember to recommend our people putting their necks out there with that kind of RP."

Fyurii exclaims to Alyce, "A pleasant segue into my own topic, which is... What Kin just said. XD And that we need some helps!"

Kinaed has transferred Aios. [OOC]

Drueta is idle.

Fianna states, "IT'S AIOS."

Temi gives a little skeleton with small bones carved from candied nuts to Aios.

Aios adjusts his sunglasses.

Kinaed muses to Fyurii, "Did you want to talk about your topic?"

Drueta is no longer idle.
Drueta has returned from AFK.

Fyurii states, "It's just the same old PSA if we wanted to touch on it."

Kinaed nods at Fyurii.

Alyce says "I feel I'd like to try doing some of the criminal sort of stuff as some of my chars but unfortunately I'm bad at knowing where to start or how to plan these things really. If anyone knows any good guides for generating and coming up with conflict stuff they can send me then please do send in a tell or so. I'd appreciate it."

Kinaed wonders to Fyurii, "No harm in your saying it again. Please do?"

Kinaed has transferred Fendrel. [OOC]

Temi gives a little skeleton with small bones carved from candied nuts to Fendrel.

Thanael claims, "I was also thinking about going foraging or something but don't know if the wildlife would kill me or if I'd fall into a canyon and die."

Silrie plucks some of the skeleton's bones off the thread that holds them together before putting them in her mouth.

Fianna claims to Thanael, "The grid won't ever kill you."

Corey states, "Most wildlife isn't aggresive"

Riannan claims, "No, they won't. I learnt that like two and a half months in to my time here. The animals just leave you alone."

Kinaed trails off, "That's not entirely true..."

Corey says, "The grid can kill you. It's just REALLY REALLY hard."

Silrie exclaims, "Rats!"

Fyurii states, "So like Alyce just said - thank you, btw - it's exciting to have lawbreakers breaking the law. It gives purpose to a great deal of our lawmakers... And lets be honest - without mages and the like, we wouldn't have a MUD. As of the moment, we've got... Two? Three? Active Brotherhood members. I'm trying my derndest to drum up some support, but it certainly is hard to do."

Kinaed states, "There are mobs marked with an (L), they are lethal."

Fianna trails off, "Oh right! Those evil bastards..."

Kinaed claims, "If you die to anything other than RP, you will wake up in the hospital, however."

Riannan wonders, "Wait, there are mobs that just randomly attack and kill you?"

Riannan claims, "Minus the rat things which beats you up senseless."

Corey claims, "In southside yes. And possibly in the sewers."

Fyurii claims, "So just as my PSA, keep in mind that we're -very- few in number, we -very- often get people that sell us out because they think it's cool and exciting RP, and... Well, I'll be honest - we need the assistance. OOC, IC, whatever."

Fianna says, "In Southside. And the sewers, I think... not sure on the second one."

Kinaed says to Riannan, "Most lethal mobs are not aggressive, but there may be some in the sewers."

Riannan claims, "Oh... I... don't go there. Nice to know."

Thanael says, "That's pretty cool."

Fianna says, "It's stinky, Ria."

Corey claims, "If you have an IC reason for it the sewers are really really cool to explore though. Lots of fun stuff down there."

Alyce asks "You can't have a brotherhood char if other chars of yours are in the reeves can you? An inactive reeve of mine kind of stops me with the brotherhood I feel. Also they seem to just be theives. Would be nice to find folks to help supply shady lawbreaking stuff (or even just ideas) for the characters who are... less specialised."

Fendrel says to Fianna, "You're just saying that because of the gators."

Fianna says to Fendrel, "Quiet, you"

Silrie grins.

Temi states, "The bortherhood should be all matter of less than legitimate sorts."

Fianna queries, "Been a long time since I had a Brotherhood alt, but I'm fairly sure there are multiple ranks for lots of different specialties?"

Kinaed nods at Temi.

Silrie nods at Fianna.

Fyurii says to Alyce, "Yeah, the problem is that we've had so few members over the last... Forever... That we're running on fumes atm. There's absolutely no way we could be open about it, because we'd just be instantly arrested/killed, unfortunately. So we're kinda running on fumes - but atm I'm trying to drum up support for doing... Lots and lots of things."

Kinaed claims, "No rule that thievery needs to be their schtick. "

Temi claims, "The thieves may be most visible, because people notice their stuff go missing."

Temi grins.

Fyurii laughs.

Kinaed nods at Temi.

Aios states, "Hard to ask for a list of "Hey the Brotherhood is doing X, Y, and Z" because then everyone would know what to watch out for... probably you could mail Tenebrae and just say you're interested, get communication open."

Kinaed nods at Aios.

Fyurii nods at Aios.

Leofrick questions, "Is there even a tenebrae? O_O"

Fyurii declaims, "Yep!"

Alyce asks "But is it still a case of having a reeve char will stop me being allowed to have a separate char as a brotherhood? Because it seems to feel that way from one of the helfiles regarding guildalt combinations."

Fianna is the Tenebrae.

Kinaed says to Leofrick, "Yes, type guildleader"

Silrie snorts at Fianna.

Kinaed claims, "You can see all of the GL roles that are filled."

Fianna exclaims to Silrie, "It could happen!"

Aios wonders, "Yeah I think Reeve/Hood alt is a no-no. I think?"

Temi nods.

Temi states, "Yep"

Silrie grins at Fianna.

Kinaed nods at Aios.

Alyce suggests "It wouldn't be the same char in both. It would be one in one and one in another."

Silrie states to Fianna, "In the same way silrie marrying ariel will happen."

Fyurii remembers when every other Reeve was a Brotherhood agent, which was equally horrible as having no members.

Fianna chortles.

Silrie cackles.

Alyce says "My reeve alt is currently inactive though. So if I'm able to get them removed from the guild I suppose I guess I can follow up on brotherhood. As I'd liek to contribute to villain rp."

Kinaed says, "Right now, to limit the spread of highly sensitive OOC info, we don't allow alts in conflicting guilds."

Fianna claims, "The Brotherhood are the good guys."

Kinaed nods at Alyce.

Kinaed says, "We can remove an alt from a guild via a request board post."

Fyurii states to Alyce, "If your Reeve is inactive, you may leave a request board to have them deguilded, which opens up unlawful stuff? Regardless, we - I think it's pretty obvious I'm brohood - appreciate any interest or anything."

Thanael states, "Highly sensitive IC info I assume you mean."

Leofrick states to Fianna, "Always."

Kinaed nods at Thanael.

Kinaed says, "Sorry, I literally woke up at 7:50 am, it's 8:39 am."

Alyce nods "In that case I'll try and sort out the guilds and get in on my 'designed for criminal' alt. after the town hall meeting."

Kinaed states to Alyce, "Nice :)"

Silrie queries, "Town hall?"

Kinaed muses, "I have a few topics on my mind, if everyone's cool with it?"

Silrie nods.

Fianna claims, "Cool with it."

Kinaed states to Silrie, "That's what these meetings are."

Corey nods

Silrie says, "Oh duh."

Silrie really is awake, I swear.

Kinaed claims, "Staff are removing gnotes and inactive nobles today."

Kinaed says, "I will be opening noble applications later today."

Kinaed has transferred Tanim. [OOC]

Fyurii cheers. Now she's got purpose as a note-taker.

Alyce claps heartily "One day I may make a noble character... but for now I have enough XD"

Fianna muses, "Aaack. How inactive are we talking? If they just ticked over a couple days ago, still good?"

Temi gives a little skeleton with small bones carved from candied nuts to Tanim.

Tanim plucks some of the skeleton's bones off the thread that holds them together before putting them in his mouth.

Kinaed says, "Gaven, Rei, Danae, Farra, and Alessandra are about to make room for new nobles."

Alyce opens her eyes in shock "Oh wow... lotta places there."

Kinaed says, "I've contacted them via pboard."

Drueta queries, "What's required to apply?"

Kinaed claims, "I expect to have about 12 slots."

Fianna states, "Nice."

Fyurii states, "Jeeze."

Thanael states, "The Erra Pater book is so cool honestly."

Silrie pontificates, "Nooooo!"

Tanim states, "Exciting to see."

Kinaed states to Drueta, "Help application - just follow directions there."

Kinaed says, "I need to update who gets the mail though."

Leofrick exclaims, "More nobles to secretly plot with, I see!"

Alyce braces herself for the onslaught of new arrogant nobles. "Well as long as I can seduce them into my obediant minions I'll be happy ;)"

Riannan pontificates, "Nobleness!"

Fyurii laughs.

Kinaed claims, "All updated."

Kinaed claims, "Okay, the other items on my mind - if you haven't read the forums recently, we're programming diseases that will link to our city metrics in line with the City Council Spec."

Kinaed states, "Okay, the other items on my mind - if you haven't read the forums recently, we're programming diseases that will link to our city metrics in line with the City Council Spec."

Silrie sniffles at all the noble loss.

Kinaed claims, "Oops, hit enter twic."

Riannan states, "Oh yeah, I saw the poll for that."

Fianna trails off, "If has_STD, do_breed has a 25 percent chance of passing it on..."

Kinaed has created the City Council Spec[10].

Silrie declaims, "Ooomg fianna!"

Silrie gets the City Council Spec.

Riannan gets the City Council Spec.

Fianna claims, "I'm SO SORRY."

Tanim claims, "Pox for all."

Aios gets the City Council Spec.

Leofrick says to Tanim, "Too easy."

Tanim gets the City Council Spec.

Rimilde gets the City Council Spec.

Leofrick gets the City Council Spec.

Corey gets the City Council Spec.

Silrie just loves the hell outa Fi. Ahahahaha.

Thanael claims, "Kind of embarrasing, but I can't seem to figure out how to pick one up."

Kinaed states, "Please have a read and reply with any feedback. In the meantime, diseases. The vote is insanely split. No one doesn't want diseases, but it's about half and half between little consequences and serious consequences. Folks, please have a read of the forums and have your say - in text if you have time to swing it."

Silrie says, "Get city"

Leofrick wonders, "We going to see a few disease spells... I wonder?"

Thanael gets the City Council Spec.

Thanael states, "Thanks."

Kinaed nods at Leofrick.

Riannan claims, "Oh yeah, I just answered the poll and didn't put in my two cents. Which... considering my big mouth, is rare for me."

Silrie states to Thanael, "Anytime"

Kinaed grins.

Silrie says, "I so want diseases."

Leofrick is not excited at all.

Leofrick pontificates, "OH MY MY!"

Silrie claims, "In the game, Leo."

Riannan states, "Yeah, so do I, but I don't want people to be able to die from it. Mostly because... I'm a softy."

Silrie bops Leofrick with the City Council Spec.

Silrie needs to read up on that thread.

Leofrick trails off to Silrie, "I'm... sorry I got carried away..."

Thanael states, "This City Metrics stuff is great."

Corey says, "I'd love disease spells or magecrafting options"

Silrie claims, "Death diseases = scary."

Alyce suggests "If serious consequences they should be treatable and possibly removable (After treatment for say a long while or expensive treatment.) as being horrifically impaired permanently sucks. And treatment gives physician roleplay."

Tanim states, "It's an interesting deal. Can see why people are against lasting serious consequence diseases tho, yeah."

Corey states, "Nothing lethal but magical corpserot sounds fun from an rp standpoint"

Thanael muses, "Are magic items created by magecraft as illegal as mages themselves?"

Tanim nods with Alyce

Corey states, "Magic item=Burn the witch"

Fyurii states, "Yus."

Kinaed claims, "Yes, very much."

Temi claims, "If it's aware that they are magic, yes."

Temi says, "Some are more obvious than others."

Fianna says, "I'm not a fan of anything that forces me to have a repetitive scene. Sometimes might really want to go get treated for corpserot, sometimes just can't go do it again. Worried it might be a lot of that."

Corey states, "Some can also be tooled to look different than the original string as I recall."

Kinaed nods at Fianna.

Riannan claims, "I mean, if it's treatable it's different, but if it's not, then I'd rather it be something that effects your char, but not something that'll last five million years and could possibly kill my char. Not a big fan of death if you couldn't tell."

Kinaed says, "That's a good point, re-repetitive scenes."

Kinaed claims, "We have some notes about diseases in general though - sec."

Fianna says, "If remedies for diseases are for sale at much higher prices than it would cost to get treated by a Physician, no complaints from me at all."

Kinaed says, "Here's the notes thus far on the general framework: con prevents disaese, getting a disease makes you immune to diseases for 3 months, if a person is displayinng a disease, it's after the incubation period, so you can't catch it"

Leofrick states, "I would personally not mind one or two fatal, but rare diseases. Apply the same steps as some poisons for death."

Kinaed nods at Leofrick.

Thanael begins searching the area.

Corey states, "Purge the viper should have an affect on some diseases too imo."

Fianna says, "Ehh. I donno. Poisons are applied by other players and require a cnote."

Thanael wanders around, looking for something.

Kinaed states, "The idea is that incubation is normal irl and we don't want diseased people to be totally unable to find RP."

By foraging, Thanael locates a pinch of pollen.

Tanim states, "And losing years old characters to rng is the worst possible death"

Temi claims, "Also worth noting that diseases will be affected by city metrics."

Alyce nods to tanim

Thanael begins searching the area.

Thanael wanders around, looking for something.

Alyce says "I definitely feel they should be able to be got rid of somehow. Since permanently having boils or other penalties sucks. Especially since characters can last fucking long."

By foraging, Thanael locates a case for a deck of cards.

Kinaed states, "Just added "the way diseases are presented should not cause scenes to be extremely repetitive""

Riannan says, "Yeah, and I wouldn't object to diseases effecting chars. it'd be fun to role play out whatever disease it is that's effecting my char. But the fact that she may die? That's a huge stressor."

Thanael drops a case for a deck of cards.

Fianna states, "I like the idea of being able to get sick and having that be a part of the IC world. It's good realism. Just don't like a random selection process for pdeath, permanent debilitating affects, or being unable to spend a whole lot of money to buy a remedy."

Kinaed has transferred Margaux. [OOC]

Temi gives a little skeleton with small bones carved from candied nuts to Margaux.

Thanael plucks some of the skeleton's bones off the thread that holds them together before putting them in his mouth.

Silrie nods at Fianna.

Kinaed has transferred Galen. [OOC]

Temi gives a little skeleton with small bones carved from candied nuts to Galen.

Galen waves! Is at work, so will be slow.

Riannan nods to Fianna "I agree totally. I wouldn't mind being sick, even if it debilitated me, as long as it was cureable and not permanent."

Kinaed claims, "Personally, I like the stress of potentially scary outcomes."

Alyce says "I know in this time period lots of disease was untreatable but this is one of those circumstances realism should be backseated a little for enjoyment. But some kinda of crippling disease until treated could be fun. Like stuff that makes you cough up blood randomly or lowers stats etc."

Fianna says, "Kinda how you can buy a wardrobe from an NPC shop but it'll cost you an arm and a leg, whereas buying a wardrobe from a PC Merchant will cost you only an arm. That sort of cost situation with remedies."

Leofrick agrees with Kinaed.

Fendrel states, "I'm not a fan of a character dying because of a coded disease rather than through player conflict, myself."

Corey says, "I think potentially scary options are fine as long as there is a notifcation to the player"

Alyce says to Kinaed "And that's great. But not all players are like that, and those that don't like it can usually avoid it. But RNG disease death wouldn't be avoidable really."

Corey says, "Something like the L tag on mobs which -can- kill you."

Silrie nods.

Aios states, ""A speck of viral dust floats along here. (L)""

Silrie states, "I don't like permadeath diseases either, just cause it's like as not to kill everyone with low con like my char. lol"

Corey claims, "You have become infected with a disease OOC: This disease could potentially have long lasting affects on your character if untreated upto and including death, etc etc"

Galen claims, "If there's permadeath random diseases, then it's pretty much only a matter of time until a character dies of disease. Which, like, maybe that's what you want, I dunno."

Fianna muses, "Question, also: Are we handling it with the humors sort of technology, where the humors and keeping them balanced actually -will- keep you healthy?"

Kinaed claims, "Okay, that's diseases, I suppose. Please reply on the forums."

Rimilde questions, "Will constitution play into who gets what or it's severity in this then? "

Kinaed says to Galen, "I personally wouldn't mind it, nor would I mind it happening to one of my chars."

Thanael says, "I don't think I have enough experience here to comment on the matter."

Alyce says "Basically my opinion TLDR for dieseases: Yes to disease and possibly serious effects. No to permanent problems! I'll forum post it in a bit if I can find it."

Kinaed says to Rimilde, "Yes, that was at the top of the list of notes earlier."

Riannan states to Alyce, "I totally agree."

Rimilde trails off, "Oh! I need more coffee... "

Alyce says "I could live with death disease. If it can be treated so you don't have to die. But if you can't or don't get treatment. Goodbye jojo."

Tanim queries, "What does death disease meaningfully add to play. Ultimately, is ot providing a better/more immersive experience by existing?"

Kinaed states to Tanim, "Yes, and risk - and maybe less of a sense that a character life is extremely precious in 'game feel'."

Kinaed states, "TI isn't intended to be a rosy place. Life is cheap on a lot of levels, and we're a medieval game where things like disease were amongst the big bads that haunted the night."

Kinaed claims, "We have a complete absence of environmental threat at the moment."

Fyurii nods at Kinaed.

Kinaed claims, "It's very comfortable, but not particularly realistic."

Kinaed says, "Though those things are a matter of philosophy."

Alyce says "I still agree with the idea that it would suck balls to really enjoy a character and lose them to disease through no fault of your own. But risk of death is great, for those who want it. Perhaps is there's an option to turn off death disease for those less interested in RNG deat hthreat? And have it on for those who want the risk and fun of it?"

Kinaed claims, "There's nothing that makes my opinion on the matter necessarily 'better' than Alyce's, for example."

Thanael claims, "I like the S.T.A.L.K.E.R kind of huddling around a campfire, playing the guitarr and drinking vodka because you might not survive tomorrow kind of comfort. It's certainly not for everyone though."

Tanim claims, "Am not in a position to read spec atm - there are ways to mitigate character's chances of disease? Could be good, am for it if it is balanced in a way where it feels like there are options for players other than hoping that they don't randomly have a chance of dying."

Alyce says "Personally for myself I might not mind it. It could be good to have a terminal illness and then use that time left to just fucking get shit done before I kick it. But I know not everyone feels the same. And not all players would enjoy it, if there's a way to cater to both side that would be awesome as it leaves noone feeling bad."

Fyurii says, "CHEEKI BREEKI STALKER"

Kinaed states to Alyce, "I think I wouldn't implement that. I see where you're coming from from a 'this would be fun for me' perspective, but I personally do not like the idea that 'life must always be fair and we're going to give that to people'."

Kinaed states, "But saying all of that, I'm keen to look at the polls"

Temi says, "And I'd be on board with people always being able to die of diseases at their choice"

Kinaed states, "The reason is that we can have a subsection of people who feel really strongly about something in this room dominating the conversation when there's quieter people with equally valid opinions."

Leofrick asks of Temi, "SO it would work like the 'die' command?"

Fianna states, "Sidethought: Crippling, temporary diseases that don't cause death in and of themselves could still cause death by extension. If I were waiting to murder a big badass character I'd definitely make a move while they were ill."

Temi nods at Leofrick.

Fianna says, "Which would be cool."

Temi claims, "Maybe just as the die command."

Silrie becomes a hermet. XD

Kinaed claims, "Okay, we're at the top of the hour."

Thanael says, "Sounds good."

Fianna says to Silrie, "Definitely have characters who'd just never leave the house again. >.>"

Silrie waves hand.

Leofrick haunts Silrie.

Kinaed questions, "Is there anyone with a plug or reminder prior to my putting you all back to go about your regularly scheduled RP?"

Silrie exercises Leo.

Elizabethany declaims, "Rat Brigade!"

Riannan states, "Wait, one last thing."

Silrie bounces. Mee!

Fianna declares, "Rec people, they like it! /summary"

Kinaed nods at Fianna.

Alyce wonders 'what if death diseases can only be caught from wild rabid animals or if you go some time as unwashed etc. Food for thought I guess. Leave it to the polls though'.

Tanim states, "RECS ARE THE BEST"

Kinaed claims, "Please don't just recommend your friends - recommend the people who give you a headache. That's conflict and something to RP about. :)"

Silrie wonders to Kinaed, "Can I plug? lol"

Kinaed nods at Silrie.

Silrie declares, "Okay, so, we're a week away, but I just wanted to point out to those who haven't seen the gen and pboard posts about it that Silrie's being given a Tubori en passent party by Franco, her npc guard, next Saturday after ooc chat. It should be fun, with a bit of a surprise that should make it somewhat interesting. It's my first time running a story, so it won't be super Lithmore changing Ariel's 35th birthday party epic, but I'd love it if everyone who can shows up for the fun! And the xp, of course. And the free food and drink and the silliness that may ensue!"

Leofrick claims, "Leave moods after criminal things too.. sometimes I want to find someone before the reeves because they are cool. >_>"

Riannan pontificates to Silrie, "Hope to be there!"

Kinaed nods at Leofrick.

Riannan says, "I change my mind, don't wait."

Alyce nods to Silrie "Silliness eh? Count one of my alts in!"

Fyurii grins and laughs. "Lithmorran crime rate is lower then any city on the planet atm."

Galen probably can't make it because he's at work every Saturday.

Riannan pontificates to Galen, "Sad!"

Silrie claims, "Awwws."

Kinaed comforts Galen.

Galen claims, "I miss so many events because it's so common to hold them right after the meeting :x"

Leofrick claims to Fyurii, "Really? I will come teach you guys how to do things."

Kinaed claims, "Aww"
