OOC Meeting 1-11-2025
Posted: Sat Jan 11, 2025 5:18 pm
Karrin says, "Ok, here we go."
Valora examines a leaping, antlered stag molded from creamy white chocolate.
Effort seems to have gone into reducing the visibility of the mold lines on
the fist-sized chocolate stag, allowing the details from the mold to outshine
any artifacts from how it was made. The piece itself is very detailed, a
soft, startled look on the deer's face as he looks off to one side, his legs
spread mid-leap. Particular attention has been paid to the spread of
antlers, displaying several proud points despite the fragility of the medium
and their thin lines.
Karrin claims, "OOC Chat Rules:
- Approach each topic with the mindset that each person is doing the best they can with the
knowledge they have, staff and player alike.
- Please avoid topics around current events. Nothing should be revealed in an OOC meeting that
others would prefer to find out in game ICly.
- This is not the correct forum for criticism of a specific player or a topic centered around one
player. If there are concerns about a specific player, please address that with staff privately.
- This is not the correct forum for bringing up policy violations. If there are instances of
perceived policy violations, please address that with staff privately."
Karrin has transferred Capitalism. [OOC]
Temi gives a leaping, antlered stag molded from creamy white chocolate to Capitalism.
Capitalism nibbles on the stag.
Karrin questions, "Ok! Sorry, in other conversations too. I know the server pop has been pretty low,
and I know I have been swamped by work this week. But how has RP been?"
InvestSouthside says, ""Okay sparse but always pretty good.""
Pippa says, "I've been wondering about running something to get folks together, but no specific
ideas yet"
Valora says, "It's been good when I've been on. Been a bit out of it and drained from work but
always enjoy getting to hop on and chat people up or go hunting."
Karrin claims to Valora, "I feel that hugely. Drained from work is an understatement, honestly."
Meiari says, "I've been dealing with pain all week so I apologize for being even less around >_>"
Temi comforts Meiari.
Meiari sobs into the emotional support chocolate stag. "Feeling better though! I'll try to be around
more."
Valora states, "Hopefully we can get some folks on and do some holidays and stuff in game here
soon."
Temi states, "Yeah, I think a lot of rough RLs for folks lately, unfortunately"
Karrin says to Meiari, "Oh, I am so sorry to hear about the pain."
Karrin claims, "There has been an unfair amount of crappy things happening to people. I think it's
because we're all getting old."
Valora shakes her head. "I'll never be old. Forever young."
Meiari states, "Definitely getting old over here, Old, cranky, and stubbornly still here lol."
Temi grins.
Temi states to Valora, "Good luck with that."
Karrin asks, "Haha. Alright, do we have any player topics this week?"
Valora shakes her head.
Temi says, "If not, I have a question."
Karrin listens to Temi.
Meiari claims, "I have a quick note that is less topic, more passing musing: can we dye leather and
suede? That is all. Focusing on Temi now."
Karrin has transferred Rambling. [OOC]
Temi gives a leaping, antlered stag molded from creamy white chocolate to Rambling.
Karrin claims to Rambling, "I am so sorry, I missed your response. You haven't missed anything
except us griping about being old."
Rambling states, "Ha, old."
Temi claims, "So, I've been making all sorts of big plans for next plots, and I did want to check in
on how to approach it some"
Temi claims, "If I throw everything in, it could definitely be a lot for folks, especially with a
few active, but if suddenly having a lot would be good for the folks we do have here, and you think
it would draw more people back, I could certainly do that"
Temi says, "Or I could try a slower ramp up"
Temi has transferred Sparkles. [OOC]
Temi gives a leaping, antlered stag molded from creamy white chocolate to Sparkles.
Temi says, "I'll repeat quick for Theo"
Temi says, "So, I've been making all sorts of big plans for next plots, and I did want to check in
on how to approach it some"
Temi states, "If I throw everything in, it could definitely be a lot for folks, especially with a
few active, but if suddenly having a lot would be good for the folks we do have here, and you think
it would draw more people back, I could certainly do that"
Temi says, "Or I could try a slower ramp up"
Temi asks, "Thoughts?"
Meiari states, "I think that depends more or less on if it's something we should be treating as time
sensitive or not. If it's something that we should be treating as urgent, I feel like a ramp-up
might be better so we aren't overwhelmed and feeling like there's too much for too few hands. If
it's more of a approach as you feel necessary kind of plot then having a lot to do might very well
lure people back into the swing of RP."
Valora says, "I'm hopefully mellowing out so I should be around more. I think I'm good with a faster
ramp up but I guess it depends. If its going to be a lot of time sensitive stuff idk how many folks
will get the memo when. If it's more long term or player paced I think dropping a lot is good for
the folks here and the folks who are trying to get back into things."
Temi nods.
Sparkles wonders, "Hmm, I think a balance might be if there are only a few hands in the pot (so to
speak), that responding quickly be rewarded but not being able to do so not as punishing? "
Valora claims, "I think Meiari beat me too it."
Temi says, "Even if the stuff might be time sensitive, I think I'm definitely going to build in an
ooc schedule to tell folks about when I expect to be able to respond or need more stuff"
Temi states, "I can certainly gear towards a non time-sensitive start at least, whether it's slower
or not."
Temi questions, "So that's a preference towards starting big, as long as it's not time sensitive?"
Meiari says, "An ooc schedule will absolutely help balance things, I feel, and give people
expectations when it comes to getting active and responding. I'd appreciate that a lot... And yeah,
I think so."
Temi queries, "Any other thoughts on that?"
Sparkles pontificates, "Looking forward to it!"
Valora exclaims, "That works for me! Can't wait"
Karrin says, "I think the 'plots will be processed each sunday' did pretty well last time,
personally. People knew when they had to have that stuff in there. But, then the server instability
stabbed me in the heart. And it lasted SO LONG."
Meiari states, "Yeah - I liked that, even if I wasn't terribly active in the plots themselves, I
feel like it gave everyone something to look forward to and plan around."
Temi nods in agreement.
Temi questions, "Do you guys want stuff for as many types of RP as possible at once, or spread those
out some?"
Sparkles questions, "You mean like Guild by Guild or what are we looking at for different types?"
Temi states, "Guild by guild to some extent, yeah. Though also the political things, and the crafty
things, and the sneaky things, etc."
Valora claims, "Personally I like the idea of different flavours all at once. Let people slot in and
find folks fitting the RP/event."
Sparkles nods.
Meiari claims, "Yeah, I think that'll help enable partnerships and communication across the
different players/factions."
Temi nods.
Temi claims, "Okay, I think that helps with some planning. No promises of everything at once, but
I'll try to have at least a couple options at once"
Karrin claims, "Temi will be better at it than I am. I get frustrated and my brain mushes when
overwhelmed. Temi is much more even-tempered and things don't get to her the same way they get to
me."
Meiari wibbles excitedly.
Valora declares, "Woodle!"
Temi grins.
Temi muses, "So, dyed leather then?"
Meiari pontificates, "Yes please!"
Valora says, "Would be cool."
Temi questions, "I'd expect that dye should be something you can embellish with and your leather
things you should be able to dye if nothing else?"
Meiari states, "Could you imagine an inquisitor in Cardinal red leather armor? I can. And it's
beautiful."
Rambling claims, "Waste of leather"
Temi asks, "Is that not the case now? Or is there something you're hoping to capture from not using
embellish for it?"
Meiari queries, "I haven't done that... I don't think. But I have embellished leather goods with
dyed fabric; but for those with high enough appraisal it might seem a bit odd to have a bottle of
dye embellished onto a completed leather good?"
Temi claims, "That makes good sense to me, though you could also tool the bottle to be not a bottle"
Temi claims, "And have it be some exquisite Cardinal red dye, or something"
Valora states, "True could retool. Though def going to make the end product more expensive for your
poor buyers I'm sure."
Temi nods.
Meiari states, "Yeah I was about to say I'd be passing the retooling cost onto others lol"
Temi grins.
Temi queries, "But does that seem functional for what you want, or problematic? The dyed cloths all
came in before we even had embellish as a system"
Meiari states, "I'd have to see... I don't think I can embellish an individual piece of leather...
which means if I wanted to do a suit of leather, for example, I'd need dye for every piece. Though
that and tack are the only multi-piece crafts iirc."
Meiari states, "But like, for the iridescent suede from the butterfly event, I can use just one
piece of that to make two-piece tack."
Temi claims, "Should be able to use just one for the finished product. I don't know that I'm keen
on the idea of one thing of dye for a full suit of armor, though it hasn't been something we've felt
the need to prevent"
Meiari claims, "Well it would be one vial of dye per finished piece, if I use the current
embellishment method... it gets costly/convoluted for a suit (6 pieces), but everything else it's
fine? In the end I think I can use embellishment... It'll just feel a bit jenky to me."
Temi nods.
Temi claims, "That's fair."
Temi asks, "Anything else then?"
Meiari claims, "Not for me :3"
Valora shakes her head.
Temi states, "Well, I think we're about at time anyway, if no one had anything else"
Temi pontificates, "Alrighty! Back to grid with you then, I think!"
Temi waves.
Meiari declaims, "And all the prairie dogs around Lithmore jump-yip! Wa-hoo!"
Valora examines a leaping, antlered stag molded from creamy white chocolate.
