Kinaed claims, "Okay, today's Agenda:

- Staff Updates
- Player Heartbeat
- Player Topics"

Kinaed nods at Carmen.

A young, stoic Lithmorran woman with sea-blue eyes frowns a bit to herself. "Though now that I think about I never did get anything about any recommends afterwards even after I spoke with Temi."

Kinaed states, "We'll start with me - I don't think I was terribly active this last week. The only thing I did was get the spec to Az for transfering us off the rumor system to GL disapprove and onto the event board postings."

Carmen states, "I have a player topic"

Nedyra states, "Which works like a charm, by the way."

Kinaed claims Carmen, "Oh, thanks for reminding me."

Kinaed queries, "Anyone have an agenda item to add to ensure that we talk about it? And Carmen, what's yours?"

Carmen claims, "Some stuff about Daravi (not what I posted on before)"

Kinaed questions, "Noted, Carmen. We'll get to that. Temi has some HD issues, so would like to go next and drop out to take care of her computer problems. Temi?"

Temi states, "So, I'm having some computer troubles. Need to get a new harddrive it seems, since it keeps bluescreening and chkdsk freezes at 12% every time. So.. I didn't get much done this week. Some more progress on tailoring patterns, and a bunch of computer troubles. But I'm going to take off to go get a new drive now."

Kinaed smiles.

Kinaed hugs Temi.

Temi hugs Kinaed.

Temi waves.

Kinaed states, "Drive safely, see you soon."

Temi has left the game.

Samantha pats temi on the back and offers a cookie

Kinaed claims Azarial, "You're up for your update."

Azarial claims, "Still dealing with the eyestrain. yay evil daystar. finished the conversion as kin said; i put in the weekly reset of IP on wednesday, so everyone would hvae a week to use existing caches before it was reset."

Azarial claims, "Also found by accident the old weather fluff, so added that back in, and lightning becuase i saw the nite while looking for all notes related to rumor targetting issues."

Aios has gone IAW.

Azarial states, "Assorted under the hood fixes and tweaks that won;t be that noticable; covnersions to buffers and that sort of thing."

Azarial says, "Poking mail with a stick again."

Kinaed says, "Yes, that's an explicit warning - anyone who has a great deal of IP accumulated, IP accumulation is going to shift to a weekly re-calc rather than long term accumulation, so please use it before you use it - if you care to."

Nedyra will sharpen Azarial's mail poking stick for next time.

A slim man with short black hair states, "Use it before you use it. Quite hard, that"

A slim man with short black hair grins.

Samantha raises a hand regarding this ip matter "I have a question."

Azarial states, "Also, you can convert silver to IP, and you can bulk someone up with IP (which also resets to 0 tuesday night) for a large slam on a GL or whatever else Ip is used for."

Kinaed states Samantha, "Sure."

Azarial is drawing a blank

An unremarkable man claims, "I like slamming GLs."

Kinaed grins at an unremarkable man.

Azarial claims an unremarkable man, "Have at. it should be easier and more streamlined."

Kinaed claims, "Poor GLs."

Samantha questions, "Now if i remember correctly IP use to be calculated by certain factors, if you were gentry ya-da etc... is that still the situation?"

Kinaed states, "Just note that ousting is going to shift a bit to give them response time."

Kinaed nods at Samantha.

A young, stoic Lithmorran woman with sea-blue eyes claims Nedyra, "You should bring Reid in. We need another Inquisitor."

Azarial says, "Yup. same calc, just a reset instead of a pooling. the calculation maybe adjusted as we fo."

Kinaed claims Samantha, "The actual calculation is not changing - if you got 8 IP a week before, you'll get 8 IP a week again."

A young, stoic Lithmorran woman with sea-blue eyes says Nedyra, "You should bring Reid in. We need another Inquisitor."

Kinaed claims, "But rather than getting 8, 16, 24, etc IP, every week, you'll be topped up to 8."

Carmen asks, "How many IP will it cost to actually hit GLs?"

A young, stoic Lithmorran woman with sea-blue eyes growls. "Supposed to go to Leech."

Kinaed states, "This may necessitate that we change the pricing on other commands - but note that you can now pool IP with people to achieve outcomes, so long as you act within the week."

Azarial says, "Base cost is five. but you can increase it. if it;s anonymous, another five."

Lakali eats an intricately decorated sugar cookie in a chain lightning pattern.

Kinaed claims, "How much it costs is a sliding scale on how much damage you want to do. And as mentioned before, you can also buy IP with silver."

Azarial states, "The impact is how much it affects them; if youa re not in the guild and no one in the guild supports you, you don;t have much impact. you;ll have to throw IP at it."

Samantha nods "Wow... I'm never going to see 90 ip ever.." proceeds to bury that dream while smirking "I actually think this will be a nice change.. and what do you mean hit gls? like affect their supportranking right?

Kinaed nods at Samantha.

Nedyra nods at Samantha.

Kinaed says, "Affecting their GL barometer as in the "Guildleader" command."

A fragile brunette lass with wide, honey-gold eyes eats an intricately decorated sugar cookie in a chain lightning pattern.

Samantha claims, "Just wanting to make sure i understood"

Azarial says, "Should mkae it a bit more accessible than rumors appeared to be."

Nedyra claims, "It really is a neat system. And it comes with IC event postings automatically, as some folks who were on when it was being tested would have noticed."

Kinaed states, "And also opening IP actions to impact GLs up from just spreading rumors to actual events."

Carmen claims, "Heh. Appreciated."

Azarial claims, "All of the major kinks should be removed; as it builds on the bid system for the regency, it should be pretty reaosnable as far as gltches go."

Samantha muses, "Also that reminds me... does the actual events have to be something within the poster's actual abilities?"

Carmen states, "Well, I'm sure you can't like, burn down their house."

Samantha wonders, "Like joeschmoe the blacksmith couldn't make a event up about something happening in amhurst that would affect them right?"

Kinaed says, "It must be something the staff believe could happen, and if affected by a person, then something we believe could have happened caused by that person. However, as people can pool IP, we can see who is backing a given individual because we log it and require a reason when sharing IP."

Kinaed nods at Samantha.

Nedyra states, "So basicly, we see it before you do. If it doesn't go through, you'll be told why in a pboard note."

Kinaed claims Samantha, "The staff will review items like that. If rejected, the player should be alerted and have their IP returned so they can correct whatever and try again."

Kinaed nods at Nedyra.

A tall, darkly-complected man wonders, "Oof. It's hard even just arranging IC events within a week- let alone trying to coordinate GL hits (based off of my experiences at with the regency quest). I thought there was some discussion of making the time frame 2 weeks before reset of IP?"

An unremarkable man claims a young, stoic Lithmorran woman with sea-blue eyes, "I don't think I'm going to be playing enough to bring in an alt."

Samantha trails off, "Just wanting to make sure... some of the stuff that went on during that regency quest via ic board posts i had to scratch my head at.. then i remembered this is alot of nobles so scale of events would be higher... and the regency quest is essentially using the same system if i remember correctly"

Carmen questions a tall, darkly-complected man, "Well, the upside here is as you get each person on board they can pass the IP to you, right?"

Nedyra nods at Carmen.

Kinaed says a tall, darkly-complected man, "There was, but with the ability to simply purchase IP and IP sharing not strictly being an IC discussion, and some limitations about the cycle and game rhythms, we went with one week to start, with an open mind to changing it if it doesn't seem tenable."

A tall, darkly-complected man nods.

Kinaed nods at Samantha.

A tall, darkly-complected man states, "Looking forward to giving it a whirl, then."

Carmen queries, "We will not in any way be dinged for repeated attempts?"

Kinaed questions, "Repeated attempts?"

Carmen questions, "If I try one, and it doesn't work, am I allowed to try again as soon as I have the IP?"

Azarial claims, "It still has the one per person per gl per week limitation as before."

Kinaed says, "Players are restricted to how often they can post a GL hit to once a week."

Azarial says, "For successful hits, anyways"

Carmen questions, "But if we do it once a week for three weeks running or so we're fine?"

Kinaed trails off Carmen, "You may in this system, yes..."

Kinaed states, "Having said that, if it starts to look like OOC harassment or a deadlocked battle that somehow appears bad for the game, we'll talk about it."

Samantha states, "Ah one last question... would you be aware if a person actually did give you their ip? for many times people say icly they support you yet it never happens codewise so curious if this a similar situation."

An unremarkable man says, "I've got a player topic concerning sneak/hide, when we get there."

Samantha states, "Ah one last question... would you be aware if a person actually did give you their ip? for many times people say icly they support you yet it never happens codewise so curious if this a similar situation."

Garth says, "I've got a player topic concerning sneak/hide, when we get there."

Kinaed says, "I don't anticipate anything terrible in that area, like staff banning anyone, etc."

Kinaed says Garth, "Noted."

Kinaed queries, "Any other questions or thoughts on Influence Events?"

Kinaed claims Samantha, "Oh, would you be aware - sorry... um."

Kinaed claims, "I think so, but I'll make sure there's a message to the recipient."

Aios has returned from IAW.

Garth claims, "I don't understand how it works at all! But it sounds provocative."

Kinaed states, "Okay, with no one else jumping in with any thoughts, and I think Az's update is done.. Enid, you're up."

Kinaed states, "She's IAW, so if I don't get a response soon, I'll move to Nedyra."

Enid says, "I haven't done.. much. Adjusted a mob, been spending a lot of time with the family as school is out for summer."

Kinaed smiles.

Kinaed nods at Enid.

You've transferred Lucas to The Broom Closet.
You've transferred Vanessa to A Comfortable Room.
Nedyra gives an intricately decorated sugar cookie in a chain lightning pattern to Vanessa.

Kinaed says Nedyra, "And now, you're up Nedyra."

Nedyra states, "Most of my activity's been pretty behind the scenes. Teamed up with Az for support testing, but other than that, it's been largely research, documentation and the like."

Kinaed says Nedyra, "And it's much appreciated, thanks. :)"

Nedyra says, "Ghe things I'm researching, though, will end up quite possibly having a pretty significant in-game impact."

Kinaed trails off Nedyra, "That piques the curiosity... "

Garth queries Nedyra, "Lore stuff?"

Nedyra says, "For one, actual seasonal economy. Yes, this means $expensivething will actually be harder to come by at certain times of the year."

Garth queries Nedyra, "Or script stuff?"

Garth states, "Oooh."

Nedyra states, "And some things, for very real IC reasons, may be unavailable at times."

Kinaed claims, "Ahh yes, things like which seasons are apples more available, and in some seasons, they won't be - that sort of thing. I recall it."

Kinaed nods at Nedyra.

Carmen claims, "Haha. Torn between liking that and not."

Nedyra says, "This'll be a pretty major overhaul of how things currently are, so for me, this is priority 1. Largely because there's just. so. much. economy."

Nedyra claims, "Other than that, phomes, updating docs, fixing docs, etc etc etc go check the real estate office and buy something."

Nedyra is done.

Kinaed smiles.

Kinaed states, "And there's your staff update, folks."

Nedyra states, "Though, lore things might be somewhat useful too. You may have just given me an idea for my next major project."

Verd asks, "IS the real estate office an actual place?"

Nedyra states, "It is. See help real estate office."

Olett is idle.

Karrina states, "Yep, right across from the Queen's Inn."

Kinaed asks, "Okay, next agenda item: Player Heartbeat. How's RP been folks? Anything you'd like to see the staff up to? (Also, Nedyra forgot he's planning a player quest)"

You've transferred Truv to The Broom Closet.
You've transferred Herbor to A Comfortable Room.

Nedyra gives an intricately decorated sugar cookie in a chain lightning pattern to Herbor.

Herbor eats an intricately decorated sugar cookie in a chain lightning pattern.

Karrina states, "Been pretty good this week, even if ended it early so as to watch movies with my kid. "

Kinaed smiles.

Vanessa says, "RP's been fun! On a side note: Whatever room 'A dimly lit pigeon loft' is, the lower-case is a bit strange."

Kinaed claims Vanessa, "Thanks for reporting that."

Aios claims, "So many dimly-lit rooms out there. Surprised chandlery isn't a bigger thing."

Kinaed claims, "Okay, and next, player topics. We had a few requests registered."

Nedyra states, "That was a player submitted room. I'll have a look and fix."

Kinaed queries, "Carmen got in first with some Daravi stuff - Carmen, would you like to introduce us to that topic please?"

Farah grins at Aios.

Carmen says, "Okay, well, the Daravi War has long bothered me a little - it doesn't make much sense from an IC standpoint that we persist in it, and it also doesn't make much sense it has so little impact on the capital."

Kinaed claims, "I don't really see why it doesn't make sense that Lithmore persists in it. Not enough resources to take Daravi over, and the Daravi aren't offering or suing for peace."

Carmen states, "I had an idea for a ST that went a little far for staff, but then honestly independently, a different idea came up in RP, and I'm curious what staff (and players) would feel about us abandoning Edessa and taking the front to the borders of Farin instead. A less-costly war but one that would still allow for battles, war plots, etc - just not the same kind of level of continual conflict over a not-that-valuable land."

Kinaed claims, "The capital is also far away from the Farin border."

Carmen states, "Well, Edessa bleeds us of money and lives and offers very little in return; also, we aren't making progress and haven't in like 12 years."

Nedyra claims, "The quest Kinaed made mention of will actually go some way towards addressing that."

Kinaed states, "Medievally speaking, that wasn't terribly uncommon - 100 years war is an example of long term bloody feuds where neither side gains ground or wins for a long time."

Carmen says, "I just wanted to ask about this as a possibility because it really has come up independently as a player initiative I'd like to push RP about."

Kinaed nods at Nedyra.

Carmen claims, "But not if it is an unacceptable situation OOCly."

Kinaed says, "How is it an unacceptable situation OOCly? It's good conflict theme, in my eyes."

Nedyra says, "It's also going to be a lead-up event to a bigger thing in the works. Without giving away too much detail, there's about to be plenty for players to do for the war effort."

Carmen claims Kinaed, "I meant if my idea was an unacceptable situation."

Samantha has lost link.

Kinaed states, "Oh... well, I'm not really sure beyond the desc you just gave what all that entails. Just giving up Edessa and pulling back to the Farin border seems entirely ICly doable. What I tend to question is the 'make peace with the Daravi on the whole' because it's a lot of help file work, reduces theme conflict, and doesn't really offer much up for fodder going forward."

Nedyra gives an intricately decorated sugar cookie in a chain lightning pattern to Herazade.

Lakali states, "We make an alliance and adopt Magery as the new king."

Carmen claims, "Yeah, this idea doesn't involve peace."

Lakali claims, "Perfect."

Carmen states, "Since that was shot down in the ST idea."

Herazade waves.

Carmen claims, "Just trying to see if taking actions in that direction would be problematic from anybody's perspective."

Enid hugs everyone.

Enid waves.

Enid has left the game.

Vanessa states, "I can imagine a 38th parallel sort of cease-fire. lots of uneasy silence and trying to one-up each other. "

Garth muses, "I always thought the consensus was to keep IC conflict central to the capitol? Hence STPS in other provinces/duchies being shot down. Or is that being reevaluated?"

Lakali asks, "Can I get transferred back to meet up with someone?"

Lakali tells you, "Thanks Kinaed. As always, great OOCPM."

Carmen says, "Yeah, I was figuring just -less- war, and far less continual bloodshed because we've given back their native lands. But plenty of room for trouble still... when trouble was wanted."

Herazade says, "Came in late, but sounds like an interesting topic."

Kinaed states Garth, "Generally, we do try to focus in the capital, but I think it's a fair point that events going on outside of the capitol should add atmosphere and stuff to RP about, and the Daravi war is a bit unusually silent for that there's a war going on."

Carmen says Herazade, "Gonna bring it up to you ICly now. ;)"

Carmen nods at Kinaed.

Carmen states, "That is my big concern. And BOY should the Kingdom be feeling the drain, as well."

Nedyra drops another semi-hint. "Players will be able to participate as NPC's in the upcoming quest. Which will be outside of Lithmor."

Kinaed says, "Okay, I think it's fine with me for Carmen's characters to pursue this IC with what she suggested, and given that Nedyra's planning something in that space."

Carmen claims Nedyra, "If the quest totally screws this, then yeah, oh well. *grin*"

Kinaed questions, "So if we may, we have another player topic to discuss: Garth, would you mind introducing us to your hide/sneak topic?"

Nedyra says Carmen, "You may or may not have just handed me ammunition for said quest."

Nedyra grins.

Herbor wonders, "Hey, I know this may have already been addressed, but will Lithmore ever be put under siege?"

Kinaed claims Herbor, "Maybe, it could be fun."

Herbor queries, "Like some Daravi push forward and BAM, we get hit by surprise?"

Herazade says, "The city has so many holes in it that it wouldn't hold up long."

Carmen claims Nedyra, "Be happy to talk with you about it if things might happen ICly in time."

Garth wonders Kinaed, "Basically I just wanted to touch bases once more: sneak/hide balancing has been on the low-priority list, behind a lot of stuff. In a game where secrets and subterfuge are so crucial, can we get it knocked up a few spaces?"

Nedyra states, "I'll keep that in mind."

Herbor says, "Haha."

Garth states Kinaed, "Basically, it sucks now, and that makes playing a covert REALLY suck."

Garth claims Kinaed, "As well as any sort of assassin."

Kinaed states Garth, "We put up some fixes for it just last week."

Kinaed says Garth, "But yes, I'll make an effort to review it again this week. Fundamentally not happy with the system."

Verd wonders, "What sucks about it?"

Kinaed says, "There is a problem, however, that the current system is fairly ingrained in other areas of code."

Verd says, "I've never used it"

Kinaed claims Verd, "Sneak, hide and invisibility do not play nicely with one another for a coherent experience."

Verd nods.

Nedyra says, "Which makes for fun times when your character has a reason to be sneaking, hidden and invisible."

Garth says Kinaed, "I thought the fixes were for syncro with invis. In answer: the threads are too long (sneakers/hiders get checked WAY too many times), and sneaking while hidden breaks you out hide, as far as I know."

Nedyra says Garth, "That depends on your skill in both hide and sneak, IIRC."

Garth states, "I don't know the exact balance I would want - I'm not in a position to test it. What I do know is that at a fairly high level, it's still very hard to get a successful hide off."

Farah states, "It's broken."

Kinaed says, "Sneaking while hidden breaking hide is a priority issue."

Garth states, "And it doesn't feel rewarding, for all the grind."

Garth states, "Appropriately rewarding**"

Kinaed states, "I promise to review it with staff after the chat meeting today."

Garth nods.

Garth queries, "Doesn't need to be quite that urgent. Just as long as it's there, y'know?"

Kinaed nods at Garth.

Nedyra invokes the power of Nedyra's test chamber (TM) for this week.

Kinaed says, "It's definitely something that's been requested multiple times, so if we're still getting requests, it needs more focus."

Kinaed states, "Okay, let's see."

Vanessa claims, "I'd like it looked in to too."

Kinaed states, "Those were the two player topics we put down."

Kinaed queries, "I have a personal topic to raise, if no one minds?"

Carmen states, "I had one other very quick thing."

Kinaed wonders Carmen, "I'll note it, and you can go after me again?"

Carmen nods.

Kinaed trails off, "We've recently added IC_Event posts for GL barometers. I said jokingly when we started this meeting that perhaps burnings should require IC_Event posts to be ingrained into the command..."

Samantha has reconnected.

Kinaed says, "And I'm thinking a bit more seriously - that isn't a bad idea."

Carmen states, "(yes, do it)"

Aios nods in agreement.

Vanessa states, "How about organized deaths in general? Hangings and quarterings (and other gdeath commands) too."

Kinaed muses, "Firstly, what's your reaction? Secondly, what OTHER commands do we have in game that really ought to result in an IC_Event?"

Kinaed states Vanessa, "I like that - adding them to the list, thanks."

Carmen nods at Vanessa.

Herazade muses, "I wanted to suggest instead that it be part of the check list when validating burned/executed charcters- has an IC event post been written by the executioner?"

Carmen wonders, "Can it have a 1 day delayed posting?"

A fragile brunette lass with wide, honey-gold eyes has returned from AFK.

Carmen says, "I really like having it tied into the command itself because otherwise people just won't get validated for ages."

Kinaed says, "I'd rather it be part of the event itself - a checklist isn't automatic enough to ensure consistency. Some deaths might be in private places, etc, however."

Nedyra states, "Basicly, anything that would require it be public knowledge. Burnings for order, executions for reeves, etc etc."

An unremarkable man claims, "I think that'd be a good way to seperate facts (IC Events Posts) from the lesser known shit (which should be put into rumors). As long as I can still kill people in private, I'm game."

Kinaed nods at Carmen.

A slim man with short black hair questions, "Can I be sent out?"

A slim man with short black hair has been transferred out by Nedyra. [OOC]

Herazade states, "Anyway down with it, as long as something is done. Could also include marriages and ennoblements"

A lanky girl with dark red hair has left the game.

Kinaed states, "Okay that covered my thing - I think what I'll do is put up a forum post and ask anyone who thinks of any commands that should have IC_Events attached, let us know."

Vanessa says, "I definitely don't want -too- much in IC posts. It's as unremarkable says. But I like including what Hera said."

A young, stoic Lithmorran woman with sea-blue eyes nods her head in agreement with Kinaed. "It does make sense to add to the command itself, and if it is one that is being planned to happen then the one doing it has time to write it up OOCly."

Kinaed muses Carmen, "You had more that you wanted to discuss - back to you?"

Carmen says, "Ennoblements for sure. Not sure about marriages."

Carmen pontificates, "Just a small thing!"

Carmen says, "A couple times now I've had staff send me notes that disappeared as soon as I read them. I kinda don't like it."

Herazade claims, "Oh same."

Carmen says, "I've wanted to reply to the notes and bam! They're gone."

Carmen claims, "My last RPA's note went poof! immediately and thankfully I noticed in time to get it from my buffer into a cnote."

Samantha trails off, "I've had something similar actually recently... didn't have a reason to reply but when i went back to review it it was gone"

Vanessa pontificates, "Oh! I've had that happen!"

A tall, darkly-complected man claims, "Targeted notes, yeah. Good for typo posts seems like but bad for requests."

Carmen says, "It's a deliberate change, AFAIK, but it's rather jarring on the PC side."

Carmen nods at a tall, darkly-complected man.

Azarial says, "That's for making sure notes are removed in a timely manner, since most are not deleting them and just leaving them to expire."

Nedyra nods at Azarial.

Carmen states, "Expiring them in a week was muuuch nicer for requests."

Herazade muses, "Can they be moved to personal board or something instead?"

Aios says, "Or they can be flagged to nag the person to remove them... that way if we're intentionally keeping one, it bothers us, not just the imms. But if we just forget then we will be reminded to remove them."

Kinaed says, "I think we aren't willing to extend it as much as a week, but instead of auto-deleting, we can put a delay on it."

Samantha wonders, "Hmm... if one party of a note, for example on the personal board, deletes it does it delete it on both ends?"

Nedyra says Samantha, "Yes."

Kinaed says, "I'll take your comments under consideration and see about how we can make that experience more pleasant whilst retaining our need to keep that darn request board clear."

Samantha trails off, "Ah... that would explain why personal board notes i have had just up and dissapeared"

Kinaed states, "We have seven minutes until this meeting is resolved, but I don't have anything else."

Carmen says, "Thanks, Kin. Even 3 days or so would be fine."

Azarial states, "They also have a reasonably short expiration time. thirty days or so"

Carmen states, "Just not insta-remove. 8grin*"

Azarial states, "So if there;s a pers note you want to keep, cnote it"

Azarial has left the game.

Kinaed trails off, "I'm also sorry to say that a very disturbing policy case just came up that I think I need to handle pretty immediately, so..."

Kinaed wonders, "If it's okay, does everyone mind if I break us up?"

Aios says, "Ack, sure."

Samantha says, "No issue here"

Carmen states, "Go for it."

A young, stoic Lithmorran woman with sea-blue eyes waves to Kinaed.

A young, stoic Lithmorran woman with sea-blue eyes places her right fist over her heart in salute to Kinaed.

Nedyra claims, "Go on and handle it, Kin. I'll return the lot."

Vanessa claims, "No problem."

Kinaed states, "Thanks everyone, I appreciate your attendance this week. I hope we have a great RP week ahead."

Kinaed waves.

Vanessa has been transferred out by Nedyra. [OOC]
