I thought this was 'Be a God For a Day' not 'Post Legitimate Concerns That Lead to Discussion'.

If I were god for a day? Lithmore under siege by demon-infused Daravi, plus steampunk, plus mole people living in the sewers. 10/10, would play.

This has been something I've wanted to push for years, but I'd crush the kingdom under my shoes. Which is to say, I would split Lithmore apart into seperate realms for each duchy with Lithmore city as a nominally independent city kept sanctified as a neutral ground by the blessing of the church. It would be the place where deals are made and broken. I'd also like to splinter the homogeneity of the Lithmorran court as well, basically have nobles feuding and pushing for advantage rather than acting as a unified bloc which tends to happen under a leader figure. There would be no political leader, no top (secular) dog. It would also push forward the power of the church as the nominal leader which will in turn enforce the theme of oppression for the mage side of the coin.

This would create a more politically dirty and dynamic setup. You'd still have international organisations like the church, merchants and troubadours, but concerns would be different. Basically, it would create a lot of messy cracks and grey areas in which to mine out deep fissures of RP.

TI would need a reboot to reach the above, I expect.

Could you accomplish something similar with a Royal Charter for the city perhaps? Something like the Hanseatic League?

The rest of the realm would still be too homogeneous as a backdrop for my tastes, although there is some merit to an independent Lithmore city divorced from the realm splintering. Which is to say, you could do it, but if everything else remains the same, I'm not sure that I see significant impetus to do so.

I'd reload my favorite deceased characters in ghostie form. Wreak some subtle ... and not so subtle havoc.
