The Monarch Quest - How to become a Ruler
Posted: Sat Nov 19, 2011 5:49 pm
Players in the Monarchy Quest will receive Influence to place in the
different baronies around Lithmore.
Titled nobles, guildleaders, wealthy people (purchased), and contenders
all receive 10 base Influence to work with. In addition to this, Monarch
Contenders earn an additional Influence for each point of Net Support they
have using the support system (Temi can see this value).
Note: Only Contenders may win the monarchy, and contenders may not join
the game once it has begun. An announcement board post will declare the
opening of the Quest, and the closing.
Each Saturday to Sunday time rollover, Temi will:
- report to Contenders the total amount of Influence they have that week
- post reminder for weekly reports
Then Sunday & Monday:
- anyone with Influence to place will report to Temi in pboard:
* Where you want your Influence this week
* Which Contender your Influence counts towards (or undeclared)
* The RP explanation of how your Influence attempts to seize control
of the area.
- any who do not report are assumed to do the same as the last week
- any who lose supporters and do not report will automatically have
Influence removed starting at the bottom of their list until they can
afford it
Then after the Monday to Tuesday time rollover, Temi will:
- report who is winning each Domain that week
- note which lands have active Influence
- note which lands have contention (Influence for more than one Contender)
- give synopsis of important RP
Players can invest Influence into lands in whatever domain they wish. They
may either declare these areas for themselves (which will be discarded for
tallying overall Contenders until those who hold those areas tell Temi which
candidate they support).
Contenders can only supports themselves, but if they drop out of contending,
they will revert to being non-contenders. NPCs will be returned at this time,
players of non-NPCs may continue to play the game, though they will reduce
in Influence to the base 10 (and be required to "discard" down). Thus, they
will have the same chance to affect play as other PCs.
Contender GLs may not determine their guild's leanings. A proxy will elect
this themselves based on their own RP. In the case where an alternate GL
exists, the alternate GL will automatically be nominated, else it will be
the oldest (hours-wise) character in the guild, chosen by the staff. If
no 2nd GL exists, and no other player, the guild will be inactive during
the quest.
Which contender is currently winning a land is determined by:
1) the contender with the largest number of Influence points there
2) the contender with the highest total in all bordering lands
if no Influence is present in that land
At the end, points are awarded according to the different areas the Contender
controls, depending on its size:
Duchies - +4
Counties - +3
Marches - +2
Baronies - +1
After the first two weeks, the contender with the lowest point total of all
the areas that they control will be dropped each week, as will any contenders
that go inactive. The winner will be decided when only one contender is left.
Non-Contenders ONLY may spend 100 silver per domain of their choice for
a chance to find out who has people in said domain. Temi will roll a 1d100
die, and if it is below their charisma, they will get a synopsis of who has
people in that location. If it is above their average of their int, all
the contenders who have people in that area will receive a report that
someone was asking around. If the roll is ALSO above 95, contenders will
be alerted who was spying. Regardless of whether the non-contender's name
was disclosed. The spy will need to specify how they are gathering this
information.
At the end of the day, the winner must fit the Monarch Criteria
