So Temi suggested starting a feedback thread for support.

I had one suggestion to start things off: IMHO you shouldn't be shown who's supporting you (and perhaps it should only update periodically your rank). Basically, if you bribe someone with something for their support, I don't think you should be able to know immediately whether or not you actually got their support. Kind of like a secret ballot...

I tend to agree. The original spec had the data update once a week.

The actual implementation differs in its being immediate, but we can possibly move to the original cron job that would just run the command once.

Can I ask players what they see the positive and negative affects of this being, and what their view is on preferences? Thanks!

Perhaps characters won't know by default who is supporting them, but they could find out by spending Influence Points, gold and silver, rpxp and/or QP. It would add one more level of depth to the whole scheme.

The illicit guilds should be shown on support. Even though we don't know who is in them, theoretically the populace would know which guilds, even them, have the most support. This could make things interesting for, say, Tenebrae, if the Brotherhood is more influential than the Reeves, etc.

Yah wimple - the issue I was getting at more was that you get to see the individual characters who support you, which could be used to identify the people in those guilds.

But yah otherwise I agree lol

Currently a contender can see EVERYONE that influences them.. This means that with a little investigation, they can likely figure out who is subverting them if they can figure out who is supporting them. For this reason, Subversion is HIGH risk and could get you killed if you subvert a dirty player or a Tyrant, and those are exactly the sorts that should get the most subversion.

I want a 'COVERT' option to be listed anonymously, regardless of whether you are supporting or subverting as a cover for this and to allow the proper sort of anonymity, secrecy and behind the scenes dealing that there should be, but frankly, if I can't be covert in my influence, my characters are NOT playing the game... PERIOD.

I tend to agree with RabbleRouser; it should be possible to give covert support/antisupport, it's a pretty critical part of intrigue. If one wants to be vocal about one's support that's an active decision and is fine. I picture openly subvertive positions being the work of single, high profile individuals or rebel leaders though - those who can take the backlash. Normal people close their fist in their pocket and would normally not risk a public opposition despite muttering discontent behind the scenes.

Um, what does it mean, that support has "gone invis" ... ? The 'covert' option suggested above or is all support now unseen? I could not find any change in the support help file ...

The names of players who gave support/subversion are no longer listed for those receiving the support to see. They only see adjectives now.
