Actually, I think the list of acts is a very good one. Although honestly I feel if we consider gruesome torture to be 'suitable' for a 12 y/o to see, there is absolutely no reason why copping a feel should be a 'grey' area. I think it would be better to phrase the guidelines not so much in terms of how old the viewer can be (because I think the dark fantasy concept of Inquisition is NOT suitable for 12 y/o kids, period), but rather in terms of the fact that we want it to be story-focused instead of pornographic. Basically, "X thrusts his xxx into Y's xxx, moaning loudly and xxx" probably adds nothing to the story, and shouldn't be done. Whereas certain sorts of 'foreplay', which involve dialogue and behaviour that embodies a character's personality, should probably be okay.
That being said, I really think this sort of thing should remain between the two people involved, as I feel it would be too difficult to enforce with all the grey areas involved. It would be a huge concern if someone felt obliged to RP things they aren't comfortable with just because MUDsex isn't disallowed (as per Kin's worry), but in that case I think the solution would be to punish people who disobey the rule of NOT forcing one's partner into controversial lines of RP that they are uncomfortable with, instead of trying to skirt around them.
Mudsex... Uh Oh...
I think what it comes down to is if you engage in mudsex and get caught by the imms then you're crossing the line. I've done plenty of R-rated scenes where I just implied things and it just was less vulgar than if I had used certain other words. Then there are times where you want to cross the line from vanilla sex to something more graphic and that is what AIM is for. I don't think anyone has ever had an imm kick them off the mud for mudsex. The rule is there so people will just not go all out and make their rp about mudsex. It's sort of like the 55mph speed limit, everyone goes 75mph on the long island expressway, but if there was no speed limit people would be going 120mph. Same here, with the no graphic mudsex rule, people might still mudsex but they won't center their rp about it because the imms have the option of intervening and asking you to stop making them feel uncomfortable.
