A banquet was held at the Bluebird's Ballad, the invite list a who's who
of gentry, courtiers and nobility - particularly those undecided in the
matter of the regency. During this banquet, several courtiers spoke at
length, providing personal testimonies that extolled the various good
qualities of the Lady ab Chevalier, both personally and politically. No
pledges of support were required for attendance, but it's said that many
who were there departed speaking the praises of the former Poet Laudate.

As the foodstuffs and medical supplies spread out through Southside,
there are increasing reports of angry locals saying that they don't want to
be bribed by some stuck up noble. One man was heard to say, as he carried
off a crate full of goods to the local fence: "Strong Winds my ass! Foul
winds are more like it. Let me tell you something, the people of Southside
can't be bought like this! That Valaroo may think we're stupid, but we're
not. We just want to be left out of their noble sport." The Reeves
stationed closest to the Southside entrances are rumored to be murmuring
about just who the bulk of the trade goods are going to, with word coming
in that cart loads are making their way to Brotherhood affiliated
locations.

More yellow armbands have emerged from Tavern Road, more specifically
from the dilapidated structure housing sellswords and shadier ruffians.
Mercenaries roam the Southside streets in trios, threatening or outright
attacking any who dare speak of supporting candidates other than Herazade
ab Chevalier. Commoners throughout the area regretfully shift their
opinion, swayed by these hired thugs.

Lady ab Beaufort was seen at the Bluebird holding a short dinner for
many of her prominent supporters among the local gentry. It's said that
she interacted with them well, re-affirming her commitment to the regency,
reassuring many of those whose support may have been wavering in recent
days. Participants say that the lady was upbeat and cheerful-more so than
usual that is.

A bent, older Farin woman begging on King's Concourse reluctantly
admitted that she was acquainted with Chevalier long ago, before her
marriage or the troubadours. With an angry spit, the reluctant start soon
grew to a furious tirade that drew a large crowd on the busy concourse.
She lamented the woman's modest heritage, pretension at claiming nobility,
and backstabbing ambition: she herself had been tossed aside when she
approached her, judged useless because she knew her own place. When
pressed, the woman suggested Beaufort as a better choice - a noble house
with a real lineage.

A Consequential Influence Event

As doubts begin ringing over the bread and circus campaign of Kiyarin ab
Valareaux's bid for the regency, ad possible ties to the Brotherhood, a
rumor has begun spreading like wild fire. Beginning first in some of the
taverns of townships surrounding Lithmore and quickly worming its way into
the city, many speak of Lady ab Valareaux's more sinister leanings, not as
a purely charitable giver, but as a political schemer, working alongside
the Brotherhood to promote both their power on southside, through allegedly
sending food to locations affiliated with them for their own distribution,
and undermining the power of the nobility and gentry by appealing to the
baser interests of the commoners. Common men become indignant at their
being subverted, many of the more well to do Freeman of Northside
especially angry at speak of a Brotherhood involvement. Gentrymen and some
of the minor nobility seem any more pleased as word of this rumor reaches
them by means of court bards as they begin to see Lady ab Valareux in a
different light, as a noblewoman with such ambition she is willing to
compromise the traditional strength of the social structure and undermine
their wishes by inciting the people.

A Consequential Influence Event

Lady Chevalier is by far the strongest and most outspoken in faith. She
speaks to the common folk kindly about the Lord of the Springs and of Dav.
Not condescendingly or trying to buy off support like some other candidates
either! Surely Chevalier is the house we want overseeing our future Queen
and her growth as a proper and good Davite.

A Modest Influence Event

With the rumors circling about Valareaux's involvement and underhanded
affiliation with the Brotherhood, Lady Justiciar October ab Peacecraft has
announced that there will be a pending investigation on the matter. She
assures the populace that the Reeves will continue to make sure the quest
for regency follows within the realm of secular law, though there is a deep
concern as to how Lady Valareaux was able to bolster her support so
quickly.

With repairs and restorations in full swing, Lithmore City and her
environs have been abuzz with activity. Everywhere, there is the sawing of
timbers, the clank of hammer on nail, and the sounds of toil and labor.
But with manpower still scarce, the roads between provinces have become
startlingly dangerous. Mercenary companies are booming as whispers that
the Brotherhood of Common Goods has laid claim to the most profitable trade
routes travel through the gentry like wildfire. True or not, it is certain
that people have become more anxious about travelling; and rumors that
Reeve guardsmen have turned to banditry themselves to supplement their
meagre wage only make things worse.

With these things fresh in mind, His Royal Majesty, King Tobin ab Samael
has issued the following decree:

Be it known, to all citizens of Lithmore and her Duchies, that the
organization commonly known as the Brotherhood of Common Goods is hereby
denounced under the laws and policies of the Kingdom. Membership in this
group, or aid or succor offered thereon, will be punished by twenty years
of hard labor, in addition to punishment for any other crimes such
association has inspired.

An Ambitious Influence Event

The Magistrate le Serlok has been heard to remark while drinking that he
strongly believes that Lady ab Valareaux has connections to the
brotherhood. Given how frequently the man drinks, his accusations have
been spreading widely, and, given the mans status as a magistrate, many are
taking his accusations as a reason to reconsider their support for the Lady
ab Valareaux.
