So I thought it'd be super awesome if we could include whispers in emotes; I love the command and implementation but I really am just trained not to do anything outside my single pose when it's my turn; I find lots of commands breaks my flow of RP. I had the thought that we could maybe include the ability to whisper like a language in our RP. My personal thought was using the syntax:
Code: Select all
emote leans over and whispers to /Alyxandra, @Alyxandra"What are they trying to say?!"
@ would be the input to tell the emote code 'Whisper Coming Up!' and the space between the @ and the " would be the target. It's a bit clunky, I know, but I'd be immensely more likely to use it if I had the means to do so in my motes!

I like the idea. but I think whispering could benefit from some work first - it's partly why I almost never use it.
Admittedly, I'm not sure how exactly it works now, but I know if I'm codely positioned near two whispering people, I'm almost guaranteed to overhear what they're saying - even if I ICly shouldn't be able to for any number of reasons (I assume I can't ICly hear it unless it's incredibly obvious I should be able to).
That said, if @name isn't used for anything presently, I like it. With maybe @x or something, again similar to languages, to indicate the end of a whisper where it's not necessarily the end of speech or your emote. For example:
emote @alyxandra "We'll discuss that later@x," /self asides to /alyxandra, then on a clear of the throat turns his attention on /tomas. "Can I help you, your grace?"
Again, probably a little clunky, but I'm hoping it gets the idea across.
