I'd like to suggest the option to teach a skill no higher than a specified rank.

This is useful for people who want to downplay how well they know something or even for breaking up teaching RP into multiple events, so the teacher can focus their lecture material.

For example, I want to hold a beginner's cooking class. If my lecture is focusing on how to chop vegetables, it would be weird if someone sitting in on the class went home knowing how to bake a gourmet cake.

As it stands, you can't teach unlimited ranks in one sitting. You can teach alot, yet; but not enough to jump from rank 1 to rank 61 in one session. I think the most you can teach is about 10 ranks, give or take a few. This teach option seems to be a bit redundant given what is already in effect.

I would assume it would be less for teaching a certain number of ranks, but more limiting the final number of ranks they get up to. Like protecting guild trade secrets while still being willing to teach low level classes - and not worrying that the person is lying and are already hovering at 36 and want to sneak past that barrier unbeknownst to the guild in question. Whether that is enough utility to justify doing now is a different question.
