Anyone else have an idea of where we'd likely find fertile ground for RP Focused players?

At the risk of sounding like a huge business nerd: we need to describe our target market.

So we want RP focused players. That is a pretty broad term. Is there a specific RP minded player?

You might be able to target the right audience using Facebook by going after the right "likes." You'd want to target it very narrowly though.

I've read things about Facebook likes that make me unlikely to seek them.

Target Market:
- Potential players who might enjoy RP.

- Characteristics of RPers:
... that was the best I've got. Thoughts?

The Mud Connector. Being in the top 10 or even 20 listings is huge. Editing TI's listing regularly will keep it in the recently updated submissions list. I genuinely believe that most people looking for a MUD will be looking on TMC. It has the feel of a reputable site and tends to be the most well-known of its like.

Other spots:

http://mudstats.com/
http://www.topmudsites.com/
http://www.mushcode.com/MushList

The last one is probably not exactly fitting considering the codebase difference, but an RPI would attract the same basic sort of player, I think. Maybe even some new blood that likes text-based RP games but generally looks for MUSHes. Tossing TI up there could attract 'em.

Kinky: That has to be one of the coolest websites I have seen!

My interpretation of that data is that we, TI, are more in the Storyteller quadrant. Some people play characters more in the Character Actor quadrant. I put a dot where I think TI fits on the map.

So... what does that mean? Well I think that, honestly, MU*s are a dieing art-form. Pixie's recommendation of staying the course with the reputable free sites are probably the best option for the time being.
