When you have tons of RPXP, the 5xp fee for using an osay is inconsequential. How about making having it cost 0.1% of your current RPXP?
If you have 5000rpxp, it would cost 5xp. If you have 10,000, 10xp. 1million, 1,000xp.
It would of course remain free for cyans or when cyans are present.
Alternatively, the cost could go by brackets.
Thoughts?

There is nothing wrong with osay right now as it stands as it costs you nothing to osay to everybody when there is a cyan player present.
5XP per osay between all other players is a fair and painful enough amount to force players who should know better to use tells instead.
Hence I am against any change whatsoever.

Yes, scaling might work better, maybe by brackets, or going by .01% with a 1xp minimum instead (at 1 million rpxp, that'd be 100xp).
I agree it's not high priority, just a thought I had for a bit more fairness. The alternative is wiping the cost altogether, since it's already practically free for long-term players.
New players that don't have RPXP to burn don't cost anything anyway. And older players, believe it or not, if you osay far too much, it will add up.
It is supposed to be a deterrent, not a punishment, thus the low rpxp cost. Sometimes osay is needed for clarification of RP even when a new player isn't in the room, and there is zero reason an older player should be punished for having to clarify their RP. This is not something specific to newbies.
If the concern is that it is being over-used by someone or certain groups, there are already ways to handle that. Osay can be turned off in a room, or overuse and abuse can be reported to staff.
