Custom channels

I've been thinking lately, "It would be nice to have an OOC channel for Charali characters," or "It would be nice to have a channel for my mercenary group"

But rather than requesting a bunch of individual OOC channels, how about a way to create one on demand?

One way it might work:

syntax:
channel join [channelname] <optional password>
channel [channelname] (message)

If the channel doesn't already exist, it creates it, with an optional password if you want it to be private. Public ones could perhaps show up in the channels list.

One big problem: moderation. Staff will have to oversee those channels like they do with existing ones as it's part of the game and those will... be used a lot I imagine. So not a fan of increased workload and the potential for more OOC exclusivity within the game (something to really not encourage). If you want proper OOC chat, there is always discord where you can set private channels, and other options like IRC etc.

Agreed with Puciek on this one; more OOC channels are available through off-game means!

Very strongly against providing code support for OOC cliques. It's already pretty bad.

Yeah, we already have a gazillion ooc channels that are, frankly, a bit unnecesary.
