Is it acceptable to kill children? Infants? Newborns? Can such deaths be performed in a graphic manner? Is it acceptable to abort a child without magic (via the aforementioned herb)? Can that herb be forcefully administered? If you cannot abort or kill newborns, infants, children... at what age does it be acceptable to target a person? Are these standards any different for torture? Maiming?

Where is the line drawn? Is it drawn somewhere different for magic instead of mundane means? Why? The answers should bear in mind the spirit of a PG-13 MUD. All of this happens on TV, even if it is only implied off screen.

Consent is not required except as mandadted by the rules of this MUD; consent is also not required IRL except as specifically mandated by law... but, we still pursue consent when we are able to. It is polite. A covert character interested in depicting visceral scenes such as graphic torture (obviously including a fade to black scene) can relay a message through an Admin or an Aide to their intended victim. And, they can bare in mind that 'No Torture' doesn't mean they are not allowed to inflict censure on that player... just that they will need to be more creative... *evil grin*

I have no issues with your stance, nor would I be against adding the spell to the game. Fundamentally, however, those who are pro-addition are more pro-addition on an light-hearted, it seems like that spell could be cool level, whilst those who hate the idea are in the extreme realm of hatred about the thought of adding it.

So, we figured no harm, no foul, we won't add it.
