A Matter of the Patriarchy

The High Synod (how embarrassing that I wrote Holy on the IC Event board - might fix that) has voted to remove the patriarchy from the auspices of the monarchy. Thank you, all Orderite players who participated in the vote.

This leaves the role of the patriarchy unfilled, and has some interesting possibilities for the future of the game. Because this has such extensive potential for theme control/damage, I'd love to have a lot of player input and discussion before any decisions are made on the matter. What do you think should happen to the patriarchy?

Here's some possibilities to consider, just to get those creative juices flowing:

- Simply swap the Cardinal of Lithore title to the Patriarch/Matriarch title.
- Have the patriarch/matriarch be an NPC voted for by the High Synod.
- Have the High Synod absorb the powers and role of the Patriarch unto itself - probably another NPC-ish option, but likely containing Orderite votes as we did for the question of the patriarchy in general.
- We open applications or appoint a new patriarch internal to the Holy Order and re-configure the Holy Order's GI/Cardinal GLship.
- Other possibilities I just didn't think of?

I suggest the Order start a quest to find the person who has the most ab Harmon blood in them who wasn't wiped out by the blood curse, and appoint them the new Patriarch/Matriarch (and having that be a position that is very prominent, but with no real authority).

Perhaps it's someone already in Lithmore *cues dramatic music*

We already have a bunch of very prominent PCs in the game. In favour of retaining some balance among the pbase, I think that might be our best bet.
