item restricting guards / invitation only rooms

Ideas we've discussed and decided not to implement.

I'd like to see an implementation of an NPC 'guard' that could be purchased or rented for events and special rooms. For example, A player rents a grand hall for a high profile wedding and wants to restrict entry to those who hold an invitation. Along with the QP expenditure to set up the wedding event (food tables, etc) they get a guard (or in this case maybe an usher) which blocks users without invitations.

This would also be a benefit for multi-room inn's, bar's, pub's, etc and could be an additional mobprog that is toggle-able and re-keyable. Picture having an employee in your bar that acts as bartender or waiter but also serves as a guard for the adjoining room when private events are in progress. Give the 'manager' of the establishment the ability to set a 'key' item to be given to players allowed entry. Like an invitation to a private business meeting. When no private event is in progress the 'manager' could toggle the restriction off to open the room up for regular patrons.

I'd LOVE this for The Bluebird Inn!

This is actually already doable via the request board system, though like with everything there is usually a QP or silver cost depending on the complexity of the program involved.
