I don't think I'm alone in feeling like it's really hard to think of what to say when teaching magic skills, so I thought I'd share this tidbit of BS I've come up with for Earth/Circadnanoth.
A lot of the lore about Earth and Circadnanoth is about connections. They're what form the connection between the moons and the physical realm in spell casting supposedly. A lot of what I do is play up on that, talking about how (in my mind) Earth is what unifies the physical realm, and how it's present in stone and soil, but if you add water to it you get plants, and if you add water and fire to it you get animals, and add void to that for people and so on. Everything has living and most things not have a connection to the Earth though.
I kind of take this a step further, and suppose that as one gets stronger in Earth magic one can see and feel this connections, sensing the connection to Circadnanoth or to a powerful Earth mage first, and going from there. Then you can RP trying to brighten a link, or darken it, or having the student brighten one while you try and darken it...
I dunno. Magic teaching in general I find difficult. This has been my main goto aside from explaining what the spells are for an element and moon.
Does anyone else have better suggestions? Or ones for other elements?
