I loooove Marisa's accent, and sometimes find myself typo'ing like her speach.
Jarik's while I think it bothered some was always enjoyable.
However I believe it is a player's choice and creative.
Accents
I'm too lazy to do them myself - I've always generally gone the, "in a Charalin accent" route with Safir, controlling it instead through vocabulary.
I think it's entirely up to the players, though. People have different ways of showing and characterizing their PCs. If you are having trouble reading an accent, I think it's fair enough to say OOCly, "Hey, I get your foreignness, but because of X/Y/Z reason I'm having a hard time with the accent - can we just assume it's there from here on out for this scene? I'd like to RP, but if it isn't possible, I'm going to cut my losses." If the person is able to accommodate that, great. If they aren't, you should get a free pass to leave without coming off as an IC-jerk. But I think accommodate is the word there - if they want to they can if they don't they don't have to, just as you get the choice to either stay and deal with it or leave.
