Alphos's approval shifts from Neutral to Hated.
The votes have been tallied and confirmed by outside sources. Going over
all that has happened, it's come to the decision that Alphos was voted out
by the Merchants of Lithmore. Tellen von Tenrir, the current Magnate, when
contacted about the situation had this to say, "I have kept neutral in this
situation, however I will not go counter to what is required. This vote
has shown that the merchants request Grand Magnate dul Meticus to step
down. I will be stepping into the position myself so that we do not see
any loss of leadership within the Guild going forward. Any further
questions are welcome to be sent to me via mail or messanger as required."

Alphos's approval shifts from Hated to Ousted.
A recent gathering at the Golden Coin demonstrated strong support for
Magnate von Tenrir and the idea that current Grand Magnate Alphos dul
Meticus should step down in his favor. A benefactor funded free drink and
food in the Magnate's name, supporting the legitimacy of Tenrir's claim to
replace the Grand Magnate in the wake of the vote that went against him.
At this gathering, a snippet of a letter was ostensibly read to the crowd;
this letter included a promise from the Grand Magnate that he would step
down immediately should the Merchants vote against his leadership.
(OOC: As this post Ousts Alphos, we will give 24 hours for responses before
affecting the outcome.)

Lord Ariel le Orban dul Damassande has put his name forth for the
Regency with a brief statement, reading as follows:
"When the Regency was first announced, I had little interest in assuming
the position. I did not think that it was the best way in which I could
serve the Kingdom. However, the untimely death of Her Grace Chevalier has
left many projects uncomplete - projects that I feel are essential to the
protection of the Kingdom and its subjects.
It is in the light of this situation, and my loyalty to the House Samael,
that I declare myself as a candidate for the Regency. I entered politics
at the late Regent's side, part of the Persela-Orban Coalition that helped
ensure victory for King Tobin ab Samael. I have served at the Court for
nearly ten years as an advisor to first that same King, then Cellan ab
Samael, and later Herazade ab Chevalier as well. I have fought for this
kingdom in the days of the Great Flood, and bled for it in the days of the
mages' assault on the palace itself.
I hope that my record speaks for itself and you will all consider me as a
candidate to safeguard the throne for our Queen until she should come of
age."

_________________________________________________________________________
Just on the heels of Ariel le Orban's declaration to seek the Regency,
another declaration met his own in the form of Merlia ab Trenica. A
statement of her own was not long in following:
"My fellow Lithmorrans, and kin in the Lord abroad, I first wish to express
my sorrow at Her Grace's passing. She was an easy and respectable choice
for a regent and she will be hard to replace. I put myself as a contender
against her and found her an honorable candidate, someone I could bow my
head to with respect...
Lord le Orban however, is another matter entirely.
I can respect the man for his exploits, his loyalty to Lithmore yes, but
the man has, without explanations and without exception, set himself
against me and mine multiple times without hesitation, cloaking his deceit
in the guise of possible alliance. Well played deceits or else things
would be much different today. I give him credit for his work in ensuring
the rise of our King and the continued success of the Samael throne.
However, such a man of deceit and shadow craft I do not want, under any
circumstances, holding the reins of power.
Lord le Orban, you said at first the Regency was not the best way you
thought you could serve the kingdom. In this, you and I could agree.
However, I do not and cannot believe Her Majesty's Kingdom would be best
served by you as the Regent. Whomever becomes Regent would be well served
to have you as a advisor yes, but they would be foolish to ever trust you,
as me and mine once did.
Now then Lithmore, as I have addressed that particular annoyance, I wish to
apologize, the subject of Lord le Orban is a sore one to my House and
should not have merited such a lengthy discourse, but I cannot hide my
feelings on that matter. You wish to know then, why I seek to become Her
Majesty's Regent once more?
There are many areas of this Kingdom that have languished in disrepair for
many decades due to war, lack of funding, or other reasons, my kin. In
fact on my return trip to Lithmore, I was attacked by bandits that were
only seen off because I am not such easy prey and my guards. The common
travelers are not so fortunate. Perhaps Her Grace had plans to deal with
such, perhaps not, but the fact of the matter is, people should be able to
travel in this Kingdom with ease and peace of mind to a regular degree and
this is not currently possible with the state of the Kingdom's roads. Free
travel and commerce is essential to our land and I intend to put many
people to work repairing, and laying stone and rock to make our roads
strong and able and that men may travel quickly.
Also, to a great degree the fortune of our realm is tied up in our Church
and Crown, as yes, the Declarations require tithes and I respect those for
what benefits they bring to the less fortunate. However, I intend to meet
with and discuss plans with the Cardinal of Lithmore and our Church how
best the wealth of our land might serve to heal the ills of our poor and
less fortunate to give them the means to feed their families once more.
The Church is a foundation of our land and it should be involved in making
it whole and strong with the Crown's oversight.
These two measures are but the first things I intend to see done as Regent.
It is my desire that when her Majesty's En Passant arrives and she takes
the throne in truth, that she find her realm whole, strong, and ready for
her rule as Queen.
May the blessing of our Lord of the Springs rest always upon Her Majesty
and her Kingdom. And thank you all for your patience."

_________________________________________________________________________
In the wake of both Ariel le Orban and Merlia ab Trenica's declarations to
seek the Regency, another voice, this time coming from the northern reaches
of Lithmore, speaks of intent to campaign. The statement from Ivana ab
Toulour, the Countess of Beresfield, was as follows:
"My friends, be you kindred Lithmorran or allies abroad, familiar faces or
those whom I have yet to meet, I speak today to address rumors of my
candidacy for the Regency. In the wake of Her Grace's regretful passing, I
find myself facing, for the second time, a pool of candidates who are
diverse in backgrounds, vast in exploits and experience, and dedicated in
their commitment to this realm and its people. With the caliber of these
worthy opponents kept in mind, I come forth to offer myself as another
contender for the Regency.
In uncertain times like these, there are core three values that must be
vigilantly guarded as we examine the possibility of a new leader to our
people: faith, duty and strength. No matter which noble we find worthy to
sit upon the Regent's throne, they must possess these values in order to
guide us to a prosperous future.
Firstly, I ask that our Regent have faith. This victor, whomever they may
be, will be responsible for guarding the throne that once held the lineage
of Dav himself. Though the Harmon plague will not be forgotten, for its
horrors are etched in the very histories of the the noble houses, it is,
for some only a distant memory. My own family lost many close relatives
and friends through the nature of this terrible curse, and for that and the
losses of others, I beg that our Regent be one who holds the pillars of
Davism nearer then all else.
Secondly, I ask that our Regent recognize duty. The title of Regent was
wisely given before this time, to a woman who chose the love of family and
service to the realm above selfish exploits or gain. Her Grace nobly
represented this ideal of duty, and in her honour, we must seek a Regent
who lacks ambitions for titles and personal power. There are a great many
new names in our nobility, and that is something to be cherished, for in
truth, it reminds us of our own diversity and the achievements of those who
struggle and persevere. Some have made great strides to become who they
are today. However, we must not seek a man or woman who will put their own
desires for greatness above their duty to serve the realm. This title we
so struggle to give is not one of privilege and greed, but rather, one of
challenging responsibility. As our young Queen grows and learns, it is
crucial that our Regent guards the wellbeing of the people and Her
Majesty's throne, not petty personal ambition.
Finally, I ask that our Regent have strength. They will need strength in
leadership, so that he or she may guide us. Someone who has strength in
military tactics and the understanding to listen to advisers from the
Knights and Reeves in times of grave danger, without their own needs for
combat threatening the stability of the land. Strength in body and mind,
one who can withstand the trials and tribulations of the Regency without
disability or falter. Someone who is young enough to face the future
bravely, yet old enough to be wise and true. When we find a noble who is
strong in each of these areas, we have found a worthy Regent.
In closing, I say this: This campaign will have a darker side, as
competitions for power always do. We are but men and women, easily swayed
by the call of taint, wealth, power and sin. However, as I am sure my
competitors agree, that is not the path of the Regency, and neither should
it be the path to it. We must all remain strong, faithful and duteous if
good is to prevail. May the Lord bless this land and its people. Thank
you."

Late this evening, the Baron Herbor le Cruppe of Tickler's Rest
announced his desire to take part in what he called, 'a most promising and
entertaining race for the crown! '. The baron had this to say as he
hosted a small speech at the Town Hall late Votumas:
"Friends! Possible future subjects! Noble Herbor comes before you all,
seeking nothing but goodwill as he prepares to engage in the painful
process of political competition! I am no stranger to the game. Some in
Tingre's Rest vie for my blood! Of course, Herbor is far too slim and fit
for them to catch. Even now, he looks down, or rather up, at your faces.
You're wondering how such an esteemed man will manage such a feat. Such a
position! Wonder no more, for the time of wishful thinking has passed.
The tragic and most untimely demise of the previous regent will still be
mourned by the good people that she resided over, but Herbor shall look to
bring us forward! All of us! Have I not almost single-handedly saved
Tubor's limited economy thrice!?! Has my family's success and fortune
proved otherwise that I am not fit for such a role that our dear Lady ab
Chevalier mastered with such grace?!? Herbor shall take the oath to serve
until nothing more requires his serving! Until the true and proper young
woman takes her place as the Kingdom's leader! I bid you all a good night.
Herbor must go, to gorge while he reflects on what he's just gotten himself
into!"
