Terryn's approval shifts from Approved to Ousted.

In full knowledge, approval and coordination of the office of the Regent
the Reeves have been involved in a formal investigation against the Lord
Justiciar Terryn dul Valistovos regarding charges of gross abuse of power.
He has been suspended and expected to be convicted on some of the charges
due to testimony of a serious nature. The Proconsul of Lithmore, Lady
Brynieve de Versin, is acting Justiciar at this time. Those with knowledge
and proof of corruption of the Kingdoms highest ranking Reeve are
encouraged to come forward without fear of reprisal.

The local Reeves at the Lithmore Office have endured the yoke of many bad
masters before, and have thusly tolerated the rise of the obscenely rich
Vavardi guardsman dul Valistovos to a rank far beyond anyone's expectations
for him. However the recent investigations have led to outrage, near
rebellion, and outright claims that dul Valistovos is done in the Reeves.
(Not to mention the trashed portraits.) Other prominent city citizens have
granted the deeply depressed Reeves of Lithmore support and testimony to
further energize their desire to be rid of their bad master once and for
all.

Throughout the city, common citizens, many of them freemen, have been going
to visit neighbours and spread the cheer of Yule. It has been particularly
common to see them in the company of the humble local priests, and the soup
kitchens and bread deliveries are particularly well stocked this year.
There were even some extra warm blankets to go around. It was quickly
sourced to originating in the Merchants Guild, but all said that it was
arranged on behalf of the Cardinal himself and that he wanted to ensure
that nobody was left wanting at this time of year.

Acolytes stream out from the cathedral, whispering in the ears of important
people and gathering them to the steps of the church. After several long
moments several of the priests exit the cathedral followed by the Cardinal.
He looks worn and haggard.

Sighing he addresses the crowd, "My Lords and Ladies, Brothers and Sisters,
it is with a heavy heart that I report our Grand Inquisitor Haeva Soler has
been found guilty of several heresies. The stain on her soul is so dark
that she must atone for her sins by forfeiting her life. After due review,
she will be executed.

"I take my fair share portion of the blame for this. Long I have heard
your cries, pleading out to me to stop this madness, and long I gave her
the benefit of the doubt. I had hoped that she might learn from proper
guidance, that she may become whole again. I offered to retain her as an
acolyte, allowing her to study and become right with the Lord of Springs.
She refused."

"It was not until His Eminence, Aurther Auguste, uncovered a plot to
overthrow me as Cardinal, but more shamefully attempt to overthrow the Lord
Regent, that I was convinced of her true nature." The Cardinal looks pained
and sorrowful, "I am sorry for all of the pain my inaction has caused.
Please forgive me as I attempt to right these wrongs."

He clears his throat, "As we search for a new Grand Inquisitor, His
Eminence has graciously accepted my appointment of him to that role.
Please support His Holy Honor as we attempt to straighten out this mess."

A statement was released by the Proconsul of Lithmore, Lady Brynieve de
Versin, in regards to the latest activites of the Reeves in Lithmore:

Let it be known that the recent inquiry into Master Terryn dul Valistovos
regarding the death of Cadet Aidan ab Breckenridge has unearthed no
connection or wrongdoing on the part of Master dul Valistovos. It should
be remembered by all subjects that an investigation is a search for the
truth. It is not in itself a declaration of guilt or innocence, but rather
the means in which such things are determined.

While no wrongdoing in regards to the death of Aidan ab Breckenridge was
found, the senior Reeves of Lithmore have decided that it was best for the
Reeves as a whole that new leadership be found. Master dul Valistovos has
elected to retire from our orginization, and we thank him for service
rendered.

The investigations into the recent violent crimes in Southside are ongoing,
and those subjects that have information regarding these recent events are
encouraged to come forward to the Reeves.

Just after midnight on Lunisa 18, a pair of riders entered the city on a
swift gallop and then rode on, to the estates north of the Capitol;
breathless weary, they disappeared into the gates of de Roldan manor, not
to emerge for several hours later. With the dawn came dire news: that Sir
Argider de Roldan, the former Earl Marshall of the Knights Lithmorran was
killed in a Edessa over the past fortnight. Reports state that Sir de
Roldan was cut down by a Daravi contingent during a Lithmorran retreat from
a skirmish in the territory surrounding Sands Fortress. His remains have
yet to be rescued by the Lithmorrans for transportation back to the
Capitol.

Sir de Roldan was a native of Montford, born to the wealthy de Roldan
family. He served as a member of the Knights for seven years, and was
known as a skilled blacksmith with the Merchant's Guild. He is survived by
his wife of six years, Shaylei le Orban, and their three children, Arla,
Luken, and Kir.

Tomas's approval shifts from Neutral to Approved.

It is apparent to anyone who pays attention to rumors and scuttlebutt that
there has been a lot going on at the palace lately. Between the announced
Withdrawal from Edessa to reinforce the Farin borders, preparations for
Yule, the poison laws and investigations, the palace has been abuzz with
activity that has driven many people to the ragged edge.

Through it all, the palace attendants have remarked that the High Steward
has been keeping a cool head and can often be seen working late into the
night in the Court Malenta or meeting with the Regent to help keep on top
of these affairs. As a result, despite the relative chaos that this time
of year tends to invite upon the Palace, things have managed to remain
operating smoothly and efficiently. Despite recent comments about his
supposed rogue actions, it soon becomes clear he has been working closely
with the Regents office. That and his availability to court personnel and
visitors has begun to filter even out of the palace, helping to raise his
image once more.

The Grand Magnate released a small message today in the form of a letter
posted at significant points in the city.

Dear Lithmore,

A few matters of business from the Guild of Merchants in what will be our
331st year of official operation. We have an announcement and a number of
plans for the new year.

Firstly, we are pleased to announce that the renovations of our Lithmorran
guildhall are now complete. In order to encourage a closer integration
with the local community, all of our crafting areas are now open to the
public for free and shared use. Please come along and mingle with our
merchants as they go about their works or perhaps try a little project of
your own! If your interest is strong enough, trading licenses are
available for purchase.

In the coming year, we will also be releasing a guide on new fashion trends
both at home in Lithmore and abroad in the duchies. We also hope to
introduce a matchmaking and marriage brokering service, and have the
blessing of the Church and Crown for this.

Wishing all of the realm a happy and prosperous 364.

*sealed with the Grand Magnate's coin of office*

_________________________________________________________________________
The Lithmorran Court announced today that the Royal Council has cast its
votes and the laws on drugs and poisons have officially been enacted.

In summary, the law makes the following propositions:

Anyone (except an Orderite or Reeve handling a lawfully-warranted prisoner;
or a Physician providing medical treatment) who uses drugs on a
non-consenting individual will be charged with assault.

Temijul and all drugs it's used to make, Blightwater, Bloodstaint,
Strangledust, Sand Witch's Brew, Deathsdream, Sea Rover's Bite,
Chainbreaker, and all other deadly poisons have been outlawed for
possession or sale.

The recreational drugs Sweet Night, Coarse Ruby, and Coamjar Dust have been
made illegal to sell, though those found with them on their person will not
be punished.

Drugs that are possessed with the clear intent to use on others illegally
or to be sold will be confiscated by the Reeves.

A two-month grace period is in effect during this time, any individual can
turn over any drug or poison to the Reeves or Physicians without being
penalized for its possession. Beginning in Maritus 364, however, the law
will take full effect.
