Over the course of the last year, there has been a quiet revolution going
on in the exciting world of farming in Lithmore's two smallest baronies:
Asglen and Maides. Working with the Grand Magnate of since before her
instalment, there has been a steady introduction of a new industry that has
seen the creation of several large hot houses and the introduction of
exciting new farming techniques. Primarily, this is based around small but
high-value produce that benefits from the near vicinity to the Lithmorran
market. Exotic spices and fruits, foreign herbs and focused flower farms
are now starting to turn a tidy profit for the farmers that have long
fought a losing battle in the face of cheaper mass imports. Excitement is
high as they anticipate the coming spring planting, with some of the new
techniques also proving useful in the more traditional Lithmorran of
crops.

There is much appreciation for the Grand Magnate for her part in leading
this change, from initial concept through to helping with the theory of the
new techniques, planning crops and the provision of starter seeds.

Starting early in the evening on Februarius 12th, in what seemed as
though it might be a break from poor weather, Lithmore was caught unaware
by a sudden blizzard. Heavy, driving snow and roaring winds started up
quickly, catching many pedestrians out and about. They hurried to shelter
where they could, everyone making do, but, of course, in such situations,
there are always troubles...

A blizzard is in effect in Lithmore! If you are logging in to the
blizzard, let the staff know, and you can be transferred in to a gathering
of other players. This can be explained in roleplay as taking shelter out
of the storm. However, it can be dangerous to stay outside.

While the blizzard is in effect, I will be handling blizzard related RPA
free of charge. I will also be presenting issues to work together to
solve. In order to handle multiple issues, I will try to have a player
plot captain at each gathering location to help move along the issues, do
rolls to see how things go and help to storytell. I will continue to be
available to help the plot captains as needed and will move between the
groups.

We are also testing the plot system with this event. Please feel free to
try it out as you are doing things to help advance the plot!

Temi - And finally after a couple of days of heavy snow and wind, the
blizzard finally abated, allowing those who had holed up in the inns and
public buildings of the city to make their way home again through the snow
that it left in its wake.

There has been a significant hubbub lately amongst the Vandagan salons and
parlours, where the well-to-do gentry nobility meet and do their business.
A great deal of the chatter amongst fashionable cirlces, has lately been
about the new 'Doyenne of Gemstones', as the city raves about the works of
Lithmore's Magnate, Emma ab Courtland. It seems that a select number of
pieces have been leaked into the local market and that demand is high for
the beautiful artisanry displayed in each piece.

Local Vandagan jewelers and silversmiths have been giving the highest
praise possible- aping her style and signature flourishes. Despite, and
perhaps even spurred on by this, Vandagan society remains quite fond of the
Magnate and her work, and an 'Original Courtland' is THE thing to have
ahead of the spring season.

With the Regents recent illness keeping him out of duty, word is that the
High Steward is taking care of the day to day operations of the crown,
filling in for the Regent. Any whispers of the Regents death are promptly
dismissed by the High Steward who has been seen to visit the Regents house
to confer with him. Those in the palace seem generally positive about the
way the High Steward has been handling the job, keeping things running
smoothly. While much of the city may not see the fruits of his labors, it
is being well received amongst those in political circles.

The Grand Magnate left Lithmore early this morning with a considerable
staff, travelling by carriage down the south road. Her personal scribe
described the agenda as involving various trade contracts, Edessan matters,
farming concerns and the hope to meet with the Duke of Farin and the Farin
Merchant Magnate.

(OOC: This is to match my relative scarcity until my computer is back, but
also a chance to focus on an alt for awhile. Zeita will be mailable and
chances are I will get some sporadic chances to play from work- anyone
interested in being a travel companion or meeting 'on location', drop me a

Teagan ab Castillius, the Baroness of Irisum was said to have met yesterday
with the Grand Magnate of Lithmore for a long discussion on matters of the
economy, security and sour relations with Farin. She was particularly full
of praise, that evening, for the Justiciar as she addressed a dinner in
honor of the Grand Magnate but hosting Irisumian merchants, knights and
other prominent townsfolk. "The Lady Justiciar, Brynieve de Versin, has
done a lot of good for the Reeves since taking her post. As a Reeve myself
before the death of my father and retiring to take up my duties as
Baroness, I know what a difficult job it can be. In less than half a year,
she has brought stability to the organisation, a firm but fair hand in the
name of Justice and honor to the fine Justiciars that have come before her.
She stands as a shining example for all women and for the realm as a whole.
Join me in raising a toast in her name." A standing ovation was given, it
would seem the Irisum's people are in agreement with their liege lady.

With the news of the recent string of mysterious bodies being found without
the gates, the Lady Earl Marshall has increased patrols that the Order may
ferret out who has been taking such brazen action against notable and
prominent members of the Kingdom, including the Lord Regent and the
Cardinal.

It is said that the Lady ab Vazien was the first to strike blows against
the foul creature that dared to impersonate our great Lord Regent! Without
her, cool, calm demeanor all hope could have been lost as the others tried
to placate the beast. The knights are saying that it makes them very happy
to have such dedicated leadership. Many citizens are already feeling safer
knowing that the Earl Marshall is taking their security so seriously.

With the recent crackdown on the illegal slave trade within the Duchy of
Lithmore by the local Reeves, various nobles and courtiers at the Royal
Court have frequently noticed the presence of the Lady Justiciar meeting
with the Lord High Steward Tomas ab Jinosa. Scuttlebutt about the court is
that the Lithmorran Count, who has been managing the affairs of governance
of the Kingdom while His Grace recovers from illness, has been eager and
willing to offer the Reeves whatever support they need to stamp out the
trade within Lithmore's domain.

A noted foe of the practice, Lord ab Jinosa has been consistent in aiding
the Reeves in their various anti-slavery investigations since he arrived in
the city in 362. He has even brought his own sword to bear against slavers
in raids conducted in Lithmore City and in the Barony of Savir. The Reeves
of Lithmore are hopeful that the added support and weight of the Royal
Court the High Steward represents will ensure those behind this murky
underground are forced into the sunlight, and brought to Justice. In all,
Lithmorrans are pleased to see one of their own nobility stepping up along
side the Law to ensure the illegal practice is brought to a halt.

Word is filtering in of the Grand Magnate's most recent passage.
Continuing her way south, leaving Irisum for Awan Ride and then across her
way south, leaving Irisum for Awan Ride and then across Farin border into
the northern barony of Vorseethe. There, amongst the pleasant plains where
the first hints of spring are showing, she met with the Baron and a
collection of local handholders. Much discussion was had about new ways to
make use of the farming lands, including making better commercial use of
typically expensive crops that do not grow at all well in northern or
wetter climes. It is said that there were economically left field
discussions that bore less fruit, however.

From there it was on to Lema, where the initial welcome was stony.
Discussions quickly deteriorated, with the Grand Magnate accused of being a
Lithmorran lapdog and even a spy. At last word, her party was being
escorted quickly to the border with Musgat by armed soldiers...
