Ideas we've discussed and decided not to implement.

I really am not sure how much work this would take, but I think it would be nice to allow coded carriage returns for mail. Currently, if you copy anything from, say, notepad into the mail system, the formatting screws up and the spaces in between are gone. I was advised to try double spacing... but that works sometimes and doesn't sometimes. Weird?

Anyhow, is there any way to allow the \n character to evaluate to a carriage return when writing posts/mail/etc? So for example you could just type, 'Dear so and so, \n\n I have been very happy to see you blah blah. \n Love to see you again blah blah. \n\nRegards,\n Name'... instead of doing all the clunky copy and pasting of each para.

I enter blank lines with a single space character, personally. Works every time.

Same with me as per Amdair. Just add a blank space between the paragraphs to form an 'empty' line.

Instead of a single space, I use a line with just an @ on it, which doesn't show up. Same idea and it's easier for me to tell it's there or not in the notepad I'm writing in.
