Kinaed muses, "Today's Agenda is:
- Staff Updates
- Player Heartbeat
- Player Topics
Is there anything anyone would like to add to the agenda to make certain we discuss it today?"
Misune states, "I would like to raise a topic"
Shasa claims, "Sorry gotta go"
Shasa begins to descend.
Otois says, "Issue i wanted to raise is about being combat ready, and getting ready in "heat of moment". "
Shasa leaves down.
Kinaed nods at Misune.
Kinaed nods at Otois.
Eileen sits on a pillow
Galen says, "I have a kind of vague topic I wanted to raise"
Kinaed nods at Galen.
Kinaed claims, "Is that everyone? I have Misune, Otois and Galen."
Kinaed says, "Okay, I'm going to go with 'That's all!' for now and kick off Staff Updates."
[Action: Silrie is sprawled out on the pillows covering the floor, paying rapt attention to the topics at hand. ]
Kinaed claims, "This week was a pretty long week for me, I had a lot of policy cases. To anyone who is unhappy with those outcomes, I apologize, I did my best. Game-wise, I don't actually think I did much else. Still working on Roles, but I did write up a few small changes, including adding an [s code for hemotes within emotes as on the forums."
Kinaed pontificates, "That's all for me. Azarial, you're up!"
Misune questions, "What will the do?"
Kearry drops a large amount of silver coins into a thin white leather belt with coin purse and silver buckle.
Azarial claims, "Bugs, crashes, and drama. most of the drama was redirected to the proper baords."
Misune wonders, "What will the s do? (fix)"
Azarial claims, "Please remember: the bug board is NOT where you post feature requests. those go on the forum."
Kinaed says to Misune, "Make certain sentences in your emote disappear or display in dark cyan based on a wisdom roll of your RP partner."
Misune nods
Temi claims, "Also not request board"
Eileen states, "Sounds complicated."
Kinaed nods at Temi.
Azarial nods at Temi.
Galen gives a bright and cheerful but fake smile!
Azarial says, "If you have a great new idea, please pots it on the forums where a discussion can actually occur."
Mika nods.
Kinaed claims to Eileen, "Emote is pretty sophisticated here, given that we're an RP-oriented game, and that's our backbone."
Azarial states, "I may just start deleting them if poeple quit listening, to be frank. getting kinda tired of it."
Eileen nods.
Kinaed claims to Azarial, "I'm working on an in-game idea command. Please don't do that."
Eileen trails off, "Yeah, just... I am still learning"
Silrie trails off, "Same..."
Galen pontificates, "You're doing great, new people!"
Eileen says, "Tryin'"
Emery smiles "Same, too"
Gaven ponders, "Will s emotes be targetable?"
Braiden says, "Didn't think I was but hey... we're getting there."
Kinaed claims to Gaven, "Not at the moment, no."
Silrie claims, "An s emote.... I still don't really get it."
Silrie wonders, "What would one look like?"
Mika claims, "Currently, you can use 'hemote' to do a subtle or hidden emote that only people close to you or that pass a wisdom check will see."
Otois queries, "Check on forums, there are examples viewtopic.php?f=28&t=1090"
Kinaed declaims, "Okay, I think that's Az's update. Temi, you're up!"
Aimmus is idle.
Aimmus is no longer idle.
Mika pontificates, "This will add tags so that you can try to conceal parts of your emotes!"
Aimmus has returned from AFK.
Temi declaims, "I have no power and am on my phone so brevity!"
Mika nods at Temi.
Temi says, "I finished mage crafting this week "
Kinaed cheers!
Azarial starts editing a note. (This is an OOC action)
Eileen states, "Yay"
Temi states, "So it is now a full fledged craft"
Misune claps enthusiastically
Otois wonders, "I imagine that only latent people can pick it up?"
Temi states, "I would love to hear general feel from those trying it"
Mika claims to Temi, "(everyone is really excited but doesnt want to blow their cover)"
Temi says, "In private I'm sure"
Misune has no cover to blow
Kinaed claims, "I think latents are codewise non-mages."
Azarial finishes her note.
Azarial nods at Kinaed.
Kinaed has transferred Jocelyn. [OOC]
Otois wonders, "Well, i meant just mages? No fake witches making some magecraft but who can't cast spells?"
Temi states, "And yes it uses and requires magic"
Jocelyn eats some roasted fish.
Kinaed gives Jocelyn some coins.
Otois nods.
Temi says, "And that's me"
Kinaed states to Temi, "Excellent job. Touch base with me about it when you have a chance."
Kinaed declaims to Takta, "You're up!"
Takta claims, "So this week, I have continued to be stymied on the Skyway, descing only about ten rooms. Sorry! I will do my best to find time to finish this up soon."
Azarial has transferred Lily. [OOC]
Kinaed gives Lily some coins.
Galen exclaims, "I'm sorry I haven't volunteered to take more on yet!"
Emma trails off, "If you need any more totally disorganized descriptions... Send me some more room names "
Lily thanks kinaed
Kinaed smiles at Lily.
Jocelyn declaims, "Fun fun!"
Tomas says, "Yeah if you need more descs done, I don't midn taking on more"
Lily says OOCly, "Hmm, I wonder--"
Eileen states, "Descs are fun."
Silrie states, "Oooh"
Takta declares, "I may put out a second call, then!"
Silrie muses, "We can help with descs?"
Kinaed nods at Silrie.
Eileen states, "Fun fun"
Galen says, "Yes! Players can help with descriptions and be handsomely rewarded with QP."
Silrie declaims, "Oh, heck yes!"
Eileen says, "I'd love to help with that if I can"
Takta says, "I'll post a note after this. "
Lily muses, "Room descriptions and such?"
Takta claims, "With some criteria, more information, etc."
Kinaed nods at Lily.
Eileen nods.
Silrie wiggles around excitedly.
Takta claims, "I didn't desc much, but I did find time to re-write a draft of the Tubori racial helpfiles that focus on making it an interesting, realistic culture with both upsides and downsides and clear cultural themes. That draft is on the forums, and can also be read at: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zRR ... sIcrs/edit"
Takta claims, "These will go in once they get official staff approval."
Emma applauds new Tubori info.
[Action: Otois is wearing his team-takta cape ]
Galen declaims, "The new Tubori helpfiles are wonderful!"
Mika states, "I'm excited"
Eileen says, "I'll look at it on the forums, google dox and I are angry at each other."
Braiden is beyond excited about this.
Lily queries, "What about reporting typos?"
Lily looks at the files.
Sabari states, "Seriously, thank you for that awesome drafting! So fantastic and clarifying."
Takta claims, "Thanks for the positive feedback on them, guys. It's been really nice and pleasant. "
Otois says, "Unlike tubori people"
Takta says, "It's making me think about rewriting Lithmore next if the rest of the staff agrees. "
Emma exclaims, "Lily - Typo board!"
Kinaed queries, "In the new Tubori help files, or here on TI?"
Otois exclaims, "Only the new count!"
Eileen states, "Oh, just on the new tubori helpfiles."
Galen declares, "Go team Lithmore! LITHMORE PRIDE but not too much pride because arrogance is sinful"
Silrie snickers.
Mika says to Galen, "But also really, you know youre better than the lesser races"
Takta high-fives Galen.
Galen exclaims, "And cover up those ankles!"
Eileen states, "Anger is sinful in our culture."
Silrie wonders, "And yet who are the most arrogant?"
Sedore claims, "Takta, don't hesitate to call on me for more descs on Skyway. I'm thrilled at taking on the opportunity."
Takta states, "Happy to get typo comments on the drafts, I haven't proofread them yet."
Kinaed says, "I'd comment in the google docs or on the forums, though I suppose Takta would still get it on the typo board."
Jocelyn states, "But but... ankles are pretty, Galen."
Eileen trails off, "Can I show my legs? Oh..."
Galen covers his face and blushes!
Takta states, "Lastly, I have been following the introduction of new wounds and have designed a series of changes. 1) Wounds will display more clearly on the treat menu. 2) Wounds will heal every day so long as you are codewise active (NOT requiring any amount of RP that specific day), 3) A new lowest category of wounds will be added for 0-10%, which won't occupy your HP until they tick past 10% and can be removed with wound salve. So, at 0-10% HP loss you'll essentially see no drop in max HP. "
Lily says, "Hmm, okay. I mean for existing stuff having typos--though I haven't looked yet."
Eileen states, "Oh nifty."
Takta claims, "I would love to hear any feedback from people's experiences with new wounds"
Takta says, "I consider it very much a work in progress needing to be fine-tuned."
Otois pontificates, "I was going to suggest that wound tier today so... good!"
Silrie states, "Here, quick, hit me someone."
Silrie laughs.
Mika states to Takta, "I love them so much ive been yelling since the hospital"
Takta grins at Mika.
Mika states, "Just, constantly"
Eileen grins.
Galen exclaims, "Lily - if you see typos, post on the typo board!"
Eileen claims, "Stop yelling."
Eileen says, "It's bad for your sensabilities."
Eileen grins.
Takta says, "Alright, that's it for me! Pboard me thoughts on anything re: wounds. "
Kinaed declares, "Thanks, Takta Mika, you're up!"
Silrie still has to learn how to write on boards...
Lily says, "Okay, good to know."
Haizea becomes lost in the crowd.
Eileen says it's easyish.
Mika states, "So for the most part this week, you all love each other way too much and I've put through 45 recommends."
Silrie queries, "Huh?"
Braiden states, "I was wondering how treating wounds and things were going to be. I was a bit scared off about them because of me having a reader. So...I don't know where i'm going with this now, actually."
Eileen claims, "We can recomend other people"
Kinaed states, "More than that, I cleared the recommend board 2x this week, around 20-30 each time."
Mika states, "It's unreasonable and probably sinful."
Mika nods at Eileen.
Galen declares, "You can 'recommend' other players for their good RP, so they get rewarded!"
Mika states, "Help recommend to see how to tell people their characters are good or scenes with them were particularly good"
Takta claims to Braiden, "Treat has been carefully massaged; it should be very doable on screenreader."
Kinaed states to Braiden, "You're not the only player with a reader. It's been designed for that, but please let us know if you have any trouble."
Galen says, "If they're especially helpful or accomodating, stick really well to theme, cause interesting conflicts, or roll with things that disadvantage their own characters"
Otois declares, "Or just played a scene really really really well, recommend!"
Braiden well, I should've just gone and made a medic. Horumph.
Galen declaims, "Yeah!"
Braiden pouts sadly.
Mika says, "Aside from that! though they're less sexy than the tubori, i've been rewriting help hillman to make them more appealing and fun to play, so we don't lose them."
Silrie states, "Wow, so much info."
Galen claims, "Hillmen will now be known as "Lasermen" and have access to futuristic technology"
Gaven says, "Hillmen are one of those odd ones that can be difficult to interact with or play."
Mika nods.
Eileen states, "Galen, hush."
Eileen grins at Galen.
Gaven claims, "They have a history of being slapstick."
Galen hushes.
Emery giggles at Galen
Otois states, "Reminder, penaut gallery is in OOC"
Mika says, "So i'm working on making them more into cool land vikings with an actual culture and stuff, cause right now a lot of hillman traits seem to be based more around what they don't do vs. lithmorrans"
Braiden stage whispers, "Keep it up Galen I want to see her head explode."
Kinaed nods at Mika.
Mika states, "And that's me! let me know if you have hillman ideas, and i might aggressively solicit feedback soon."
Kinaed smiles.
Kinaed declares, "Okay, I think that wraps up our Staff Updates!"
Haizea is no longer idle.
Haizea has returned from AFK.
Kinaed muses, "Next on the agenda is Player Heartbeat. How has RP been this week, folks? Anything in or about the game that you'd like the staff to consider or address?"
Jocelyn sits and listens.
Kinaed has transferred Wesley. [OOC]
Galen pontificates, "We've gotten a lot of really great new people!"
Kinaed gives Wesley some coins.
Eileen states, "I loved the riot yesterday, just sayin."
Kinaed nods at Galen.
Adgen says, "Rp is pretty good, especially last night, was alot of fun"
Silrie says, "Oh, that was loads of fun."
Haizea says, "Rp has been good! someone doffed their hat to me. i yelled at them."
Kinaed pontificates, "We're a bit overwhelmed as staff with the sheer volume of new players!"
Blake claims, "RP has been good for me, Blake even managed to get a headache. >.>"
Braiden claims, "I"m new, but I think it's been pretty great. I'm having a bit of a time finding my place, but everyone is friendly, and people have some characters that are not only serious, but entertaining."
Emery giggles, "My character is so new and she had to see that riot yesterday XD"
Eileen trails off, "The nipple afair..."
Misune says to Galen, "That may have to do with the fact we are now 8 on tmc"
Kato exclaims, "I personally did not enjoy it, but to each their own. Overall this server is great, and I'm glad to be apart of it!"
Takta claims, "Yeah, if we're slow on keeping up with your requests and things, it's definitely because we've expanded so much so swiftly."
Takta pontificates, "Bear with us!"
Galen exclaims, "Please let me know if there's any way I can help!"
Eileen questions, "You didn't enjoy the riot? Omg?"
Lily says, "The nipple affair? What have I been missing? Hehe."
Braiden bursts into a fit of giggles.
Azarial says, "Differtn folks, different strokes. it helps keep the rp interesting"
Mika says, "If you want to overwhelm us further and have even more people to play with, don't forget to vote once a day in the link in 'who' =]"
Takta states to Galen, "You help a lot with your visnet work, thanks. A reminder to anybody else who feels they know the game well: players helping on visnet helps us out so much."
Eileen giggles loudly
Galen states, "I've been doing my best to try and engage new players, but my character has been kind of busy with his own stuff - it's starting to slow down, though."
Silrie says, "Yes, everyone's been very helpful. I think it fits, not knowing much, with my very character, so I'm not too worried"
Galen exclaims, "A lot of the new players are Merchant seekers! Any merchants in here, I'd like to remind you - please do your best to try and find these people for interviews!"
Emery pontificates, "I've been helped and accepted so much, thank you everyone!"
Eileen says, "I have too and I love the rp here, so it works."
Kinaed claims, "With that in mind, I'd love to encourage players to help other players on visnet. For those of you who already do, thank you so much for the help."
Kinaed has transferred Yrata. [OOC]
Blake trails off, "I thought a lot of new players wanted to be Physicians..."
Kinaed gives Yrata some coins.
Azarial claims, "Or the mage channel."
Takta exclaims, "Lots of seekers across the board!"
Takta states, "Big explosions of activity everywhere."
Eileen grins at Yrata.
Kinaed nods at Takta.
continued....
Log of OOC Meeting 8/29/2015
Kinaed queries, "Okay, that's our Player Heartbeat - so next up: Player Topics. Misune, would you open that for us by introducing your topic?"
Misune nods to Kinaed and begins typing it out
Lily states, "Back in a bit--"
Jocelyn has been transferred out by Kinaed. [OOC]
Kinaed wonders to Lily, "Do you want a retrans?"
Silrie muses, "I had a question, rp wise. What if you're in a really long rp that takes a long time rl, and seems to span an entire day otherwise. Between the burning, riot and my own character's healing yesterday, I think that spanned a fair portion of the ic day. is that safe to assume?"
Kinaed nods at Silrie.
Kinaed says to Silrie, "I think it's okay unless there's a specific impactful reason to the game that it'd not be okay."
Braiden states, "Yeah, Time kind of confuses me."
Otois says, "Although no one is a real stickler to time here"
Silrie nods.
Takta states, "It's safe to handwave time a little, definitely."
Aimmus is idle.
Kinaed nods at Otois.
Galen claims, "People are pretty loose with time. You can say 'yesterday' to refer to RL 'yesterday', even if it was IC a few days ago."
Kinaed nods at Takta.
Misune rolls shoulders "Alright so last saturday or sunday I ran into quite the interesting situation. There was a characte who had a much higher app than their desc truly detailed, and it was brought up to them ooc that their desc did not match their app, and you could very easily tell they didn't know how to explain it. The problem with pointing out when a desc doesn't match the app is the fact there are spells and other things in place which actually raise one's app... I mean how exactly are you suppose to explain that your under the effect of a spell and that the person should go off of your app, without actually saying that
Eileen claims, "Yeah, cause yesterday my char was literally sleeping through the day"
Silrie claims, "Okay, that's good to know, that time's not set in stone, because I'm losing track of just how long she's been in Lith icly"
Kearry states, "It can take some five or ten minutes, or more, between emotes in a big scene, but realistically you wouldn't be waiting 4x that (20+ minutes) for someone to reply. So time is sort of backfilled as makes sense."
Takta says to Misune, "They should probably use swap descs."
Otois states, "Or pmood"
Takta claims, "If you're using a spell to raise your app, you should have a swap desc for a normal app and a swap desc for your special app, probably."
Misune claims, "Even for a spell that is suppose to alter people's interpretation of beauty without actually changing the person's appearance"
Eileen questions, "Pmood?"
Mika says, "Yeah, you can set swap descs and pmood for tempoary things like if you put on makeup regularly or enchant yourself to become beautiful"
Kinaed says, "I think a pmood is a good idea, and maybe that app spell should auto-set a pmood."
Takta claims, "I don't think any spell makes people more beautiful by altering interpretations of beauty... it makes very real visible changes."
Eileen claims, "I didn't know that."
Mika says, "I don't think there is a spell that alters peoples' interpretation of beauty without changing their appearance, yeah"
Emma questions, "What is a pmood?"
Kinaed states to Eileen, "Personal mood - the ability to add short, temporary text to the bottom of your description."
Takta states, "I would strongly suggest a swap desc to avoid getting the suspicion a pmood might entail."
Eileen says, "Ooooh, thanks"
Mika nods.
Galen says, "It actually goes on the top, as far as I've seen."
Galen claims, "I think it'd make more sense for the bottom, though."
Takta states, "For an app change between 2-5, for example, a pmood would seem very odd. For makeup, perfume, etc, pmood is fine."
Kinaed states, "I agree, probably should be the bottom, thanks for noting Galen."
Eileen says, "Ooooh, ok"
Galen states, "I set a pmood when my character first switched his normal outfit for his Magnate finery."
Silrie claims, "Eileen, if you've seen silrie, her injuries are a pmood."
Silrie claims, "That way I can change and remove them as necessary without affecting the actual desc, I believe"
Gaven trails off, "Huh...neat"
Azarial says, "Injuries will be displayed if they would be visible."
Eileen trails off, "Hmm, really/ Cause last time... I saw it was at the bottom, but then again, it may have read differently for me"
Kinaed says, "I think this is one of those things staff might have to take aside to discuss."
Misune checks the helpfile in question "It even states it does not change the appearance to the touch, but to the eye. Is the desc not suppose to represent the physical appearance of someone, which would fall under touch?"
Eileen says, "Oooooh ok, yeah they are at the top, ok"
Kinaed states, "It's both simple in concept - and a bit complex codewise for player usability."
Kinaed has transferred Margaux. [OOC]
Kinaed gives Margaux some coins.
Margaux waves.
Eileen hugs Margaux.
Takta says to Misune, "It's a visual illusion."
Braiden waves to Margaux.
Takta says to Misune, "The text when cast clarifies this."
Adgen claims, "Magical botox"
Mika nods.
Kinaed states, "No issues with the fact that we may need to do more around player app, particularly with spell interactions"
Eileen muses, "It was said yesterday you could buy ap?"
Takta says to Misune, "So yeah, does actually change how you look."
Eileen trails off, "Just..."
Kinaed nods at Eileen.
Eileen says, "What do you use/"
Silrie asks, "Cha?"
Gaven asks, "If I may make mention of something?"
Azarial claims, "Purchase"
Galen claims, "The command is 'purchase', and it takes a sizable amount of XP."
Eileen claims, "Hmm.. Ok"
Kinaed asks of Gaven, "Certainly, but please hold it til called?"
Misune nods to Takta "I know that takta." glances to Kinaed "Or the solution could be people could just accept the app they see, instead of bringing it up oocly where the person in question suddenly has to explain it away without revealing they are a bloody mage."
Kinaed states to Gaven, "Unless it's related to Misune's topic."
Gaven claims, "Nah it isn't."
Sabari is idle.
Sabari is no longer idle.
Sabari has returned from AFK.
Kinaed nods at Misune.
Takta claims, "I think if somebody has a major mismatch between desc and app, that will inevitably cause confusion."
Otois says, "I dislike just having to "accept it" because I want to picture your character"
Takta claims, "Most players would not even know the spell exists, for example."
Otois says, "And if your desc is ugly mofo, and then you have app5 , I will ask"
Azarial nods at Takta.
Blake looks at himself.
Mika states, "App modifiers are really expensive too, so that's the other reason it's important to try to match them"
Emery wonders if her app and des match
Silrie wonders the same now too.
Mika says, "You have to earn your radiant beauty (or sell your soul)"
Eileen says, "I hope my desc matches, cause I really don't want to change it."
Takta claims, "2 is average, 3 is attractive, 4 is beautiful, 5 is stunning, as a bit of a guideline."
Azarial claims, "The list for app in help scales should give an idea of the type of keywords to use"
Galen pontificates, "I volunteer to evaluate app/desc matches later!"
Mika claims, "Galen is a highly fashionable individual"
Kinaed claims, "Okay, thanks for bringing this to our attention, Misune. Again, I think this is something too complicated to resolve immediately - we'll see what we can do to improve the situation in staff talks."
Eileen states, "I don't wanna change it. I like her descriptions"
Braiden gives Galen a whithering glare.
Takta nods at Kinaed.
Emery declares, "I'll ask you afterwards then Galen!"
Kinaed wonders to Otois, "You had a topic - please introduce us to it?"
Adgen states, "I can see it being a bit weird to play with. If a player has an app 3 or 4, then it could be theorized by the player seeing them that the player used makeup/perfume to look better that day. The magic would basically do sublte improvements to the person, however if an app 1 goes to app 5, then yeah, magic would definitely be thought of"
Otois exclaims, "Mine is long and in two parts, so bear with it, a long read!"
Kinaed nods at Otois.
Otois states, "First gripe is about armor, as most people travel without them, just stick complete plate on their horse in a box, and then combat is due they just put it on in matter of seconds. While I am no expert on weapons and armor from that era, I had some experience with wearing those armors and putting them even with help is problematic and can take quite some time (depending how much stuff you need to put on), and often it is impossible to do on your own and it just doesn't make sense to me for people to quickly jump into them like they do now becuase it allows them to negate the downside to wearing armor without losing the benefits. Is there something we can do to stop that? Or maybe I am just bonkers about it and this is fine, then please let me know."
Otois asks, "My second gripe (well, they are just one big family) is with food. Same way people just rush into scenes and if there is any chance for problems they just start mass eating like the winter is coming. This is really annoying because I plan ahead with my movement, and if trouble catches me in bad time then it is tough cookies to me and I rp it as it is - that I am tired and unfit instead of munching on 20 blocks of bread or 10 boxes of fish. Can we do something about it, maybe for example if you get into combat within 20 minutes of eating then that bonus from eating is taken away? This way you can still use it to travel about without much hassle, but if you run into tight spot, well, spamming bread won't save you? "
Takta claims, "Both of these are sort of problematic ways to deal with the fact MV doesn't regenerate, in my book."
Kinaed says, "Okay, armor first."
Gaven states, "I'll admit the food thing is sort of crazy."
Margaux questions, "On the second, maybe when you eat food it dripfeeds into MV look skills from the pool?"
Margaux states, "*like skills"
Kato applauds Otois
Galen claims, "MV should regenerate, I think, with being well fed making it go back up faster."
Braiden states, "That sounds like an idea."
Galen declaims, "Like Margaux says!"
Takta claims to Kinaed, "Armor first, okay."
Kinaed claims, "Yes, we can thread putting on armor and make sure it takes a combat turn, at minimum."
Gaven says, "MV does regenerate btw. You have to rest."
Takta claims, "I think wear doesn't even work in combat, but the problem is that people do it before entering combat."
Kinaed has transferred Tuan. [OOC]
Otois claims, "You really should travbvel IN plate if you plan to wear it"
Adgen has seen the annoyances that Otois, has bugged him also
Kinaed gives Tuan some coins.
Kinaed says, "As far as I'm concerned, I don't mind if people arrive and put armor on - that's sort of what we were actually aiming for."
Misune rolls eyes and points out it's a bloody game
Wesley states, "I honestly haven't had any issues with that. half the time when something comes up people are like 'welp there might be trouble' then suit up before going"
Tuan questions to Kinaed, "Mind if I say something right quick?"
Kinaed states, "We just didn't want people eating lunch with their sweethearts in armor, always ready for anyhting."
Margaux claims, "It is a game that is simulating a reality."
Adgen states to Takta, "Yeah I've seen where people walk up to a fight, type wear all.armor or something and join the fight all in about 30 seconds"
Takta states, "I do think it should take time, maybe, as I've seen people put it on and then try to approach and attack literally all in one round... but I think addressing -why- people do this is helpful."
Takta nods at Adgen.
Kinaed says to Tuan, "If it's related to armor, go ahead, else, I'll put you on the list of people with topics."
Tuan says, "I can wait"
Mika nods at Takta.
Margaux claims, "Sounds like magic to me, people dressing in armor super quick -in- rp."
Kinaed smiles at Tuan.
Kinaed nods at Margaux.
Kinaed says, "So we can thread it, no worries."
Tomas states, "I wouldjn't mind seeing some refinement to armors. I know currently as far as mv penalties go armor is armor is armor. so adjusting that might help for those who might want to wear leather around just for casual protection vs plate for heavy protection"
Otois states, "Well I have no problem with it being instant, but then we had a scene 2 days ago where we prepare outside of an inn where time WAS of essence and people put on their armors. Then it just seemed very very wrong"
Eileen says, "Amror usually takes a ton of people to put it on. LOL at least in all the books I've read"
Otois says, "As if time is of essence, you don't have 20 minutes to put on full plate"
Adgen asks, "It could get annoying, but is making it so you can only don 1 piece of armor per tic possible?"
Kinaed nods at Otois.
Tomas claims, "I think it's okay to wear all sometimes. but if a fight is currently going on, I would say wearing armor should take at least a combat turn before joining"
Kinaed says, "I think threading armor is a good idea."
Takta nods at Tomas.
Mika nods at Tomas.
Gaven claims, "Well, it doesn't really make much sense for you to get armored up in the middle of the street."
Takta states, "A threaded command to don a full suit of armor would probably do it. "
Margaux says, "I wouldn't have a problem with wear all outside of rp"
Otois states, "And it is impossible with plate, well, maybe if you got breastplate stretcher"
Gaven says, "There's a reason cities have guards walking around in armor all the time."
Tomas says, "I don't necessarily think it needs a code fix, personally, more a policy fix and if someone wears armor and jumps in in one turn, then it's reported or something like that"
Kinaed claims, "I think not letting people put armor on in certain places isn't really something worthwhile to code against, but as players it's fine to discuss and enforce social standards around that."
Otois states, "I wear armor all the time because of it, Otois is always on duty when rping"
Wesley claims, "Yeah, i'd treat it on a case by case basis personally"
Takta claims, "But I think people do this because, without a horse, the MV drain is nigh insupportable."
Tomas claims to Margaux, "I could see it in 'okay everyone get ready to go' and everyone puts on stuff"
Kinaed states to Tomas, "I think threading putting on armor is a good idea, at a minimum."
Adgen questions to Kinaed, "Like rumor/bounty/mail rooms?"
Kinaed nods at Takta.
Margaux nods at Tomas, "Policy and common sense could potentially fix it.
Gaven claims, "Then they should buy a horse."
Galen claims, "Reducing the MV drain on armor might help, too."
Aeron states, "I agree, I don't think this needs a code fix."
Gaven says, "If they can afford a suit of armor, then they can feasibly afford a horse IC."
Takta says, "If MV regenerated while you held still, both of these behaviors would probably be much easier to stop."
Kinaed claims to Adgen, "I didn't fit that into the convo in my mind."
Otois states, "Well, maybe the policy is best and then just do a case by case. Because there must be some downside fo plate armor, beside the price"
Tomas states to Takta, "It is, it's terrible without a horse. and even then, even just a small handfull of rooms drains your movement massively"
Galen states, "I really like the idea of regenerating MV, with food making it regenerate quicker rather than refilling it instantly."
Kato claims, "It sounds a lot like it currently falls on the players to limit themselves, Otois."
Takta nods at Galen.
Tomas claims to Takta, "Oh yes I would -love- regenerating mv while standing still, even if it was like half or quarter of resting"
Aeron claims, "I don't think it needs a threading fix, I mean. Reminding people to be realistic and policing each other seems like it'd be appropriate."
Braiden nods at Galen.
Margaux queries, "Perhaps mv should naturally regenerate to a certain point? 75%?"
Kinaed says, "Guys - I'm sorry to tear us away from full discussion of items, but I have 3 more people in lline and 15 minutes, so we're going to go over timewise as is."
Gaven considers, "If the move drain is massive, could a feasible fix maybe instead be to assess how fast armor is draining and maybe adjust?"
Margaux questions to Kinaed, "Can we get a forum topic on the subject?"
Kinaed nods at Margaux.
Galen states, "A forum topic would probably be helpful for the food/armor MV issues."
Takta says, "Forum sounds good."
Otois says, "I can post it"
Takta nods.
Kinaed exclaims to Margaux, "Of course!"
Kinaed claims to Otois, "Thank you."
Mika claims, "(as a quick note - if turns has been called, do not start snacking or wear.all)"
Kinaed says, "Okay, food."
Margaux claims to Mika, "I'd call policy shenanigans on that, personally."
Galen says, "Food restoring MV instantly really kind of diminishes MV's purpose as a limiter on player activity."
Kinaed states, "Again, we can do something about that codewise, no worries. It's simple enough to force a small delay between eat attempts."
Kinaed nods at Margaux.
Takta claims, "I find it harder to blame the food snarfers, especially between fights, because so many things chomp down on your mv."
Takta claims, "You go into a fight down 100 mv and your combat effectiveness takes a significant impact."
Mika claims to Takta, "That too though"
Kinaed claims, "I think it's also something staff need to discuss offline though."
Takta says, "But it's less RP friendly/logical to sleep back the mv."
Takta nods at Kinaed.
Mika nods.
Tomas states to Takta, "I do blame the food snarfers if it is mid fight and others are fighting. but inbetween fights, yeah"
Emma asks, "If you're codedly too tired to fight, though, shouldn't that be IC?"
Otois says, "Yea, if you RAN across the city to get into scene fast, you will be tired to fight"
Kinaed asks, "Doesn't snarfing food take a combat turn?"
Otois says, "Or if comong from long patrol"
Takta states to Emma, "Well, realistically, you can pause for 15 mins after a fight and recharge."
Galen states, "It's too easy to lose and gain MV - it ceases to feel meaningful."
Takta claims to Kinaed, "These things generally occur outside of combat turns."
Misune claims, "It does take a combat turn"
Takta claims, "Can't eat during combat."
Galen claims, "It just feels like something to micromanage."
Wesley von Volkov tells you, "I wish i got a 15 minute break after -i- got into combat in the infantry"
Kinaed wonders, "If it's happening outside of combat, why do we care?"
Lily says, "Back, and hmm."
Gaven states, "I still think assessing the rate at which move is lost would be more meaningful than slowing food use."
Emma says, "The food thing does drive me a little batty. I recall being in a really gross, smelly place with all of us pretty sure we were about to die. Lots of folks just... taking croissants out of their clothes and eating them while they're covered in sewage between fights, no other reason than to regain MV in a way that wouldn't really be reasonable IC. Was kinda odd."
Misune claims, "Good question kinaed"
Takta states, "Because it's very disruptive, especially in stories with multiple fights."
Takta nods at Emma.
Tomas nods at Takta.
Tomas states, "That's what I mean."
Kinaed nods at Emma.
Kinaed says, "Okay. Will have a think on it."
Takta says to Emma, "Yeah, this, exactly. Drives me crazy when I run events, but I stop and think: what else can the PCs do? Lose the fight is the other option."
Wesley says, "So report it"
Kinaed states, "Again, due to time constraints, I'd like to move on."
Tomas claims, "I've seen people stop to have a snack while another fight is going on, then jump into that fight"
Kinaed queries, "You know an ST would be well within their rights to give osmeone a disease over that behavior?"
Mika grins.
Kato agrees with Kinaed
Kinaed states to Galen, "It's your turn."
Silrie grins.
Silrie claims, "I was thinking that."
Galen declaims, "I think making things drain less MV and having it go up over time instead of replenish instantly would help. But, okay, now, my turn!"
Azarial states, "Could code add a disease for eating/drinking in the sewers"
Eileen giggles.
Otois claims, "Kinaed we care because it negates other penalites, like running. It means that as long as you carry food, you can just run all time"
Lily says, "Hmm, I may have a vested interest in people eating between fights, heheh."
Kinaed nods at Otois.
Misune says, "Takta brings up a wonderful point. During most sts there are multiple fights... if no one restored mv there would be 2, maybe 3 fights at best. Combat takes alot of freakin mv"
Otois claims, "And running is VERY beneficial"
Kinaed says to Otois, "Thank you for that insight."
Takta nods at Misune.
Galen claims, "I would just like to preface this by saying that this isn't a complaint! And that I think that so far everything is going smoothly."
nod takta
Tomas nods at Takta.
nod misune
Tomas nods at Misune.
Kinaed nods at Galen.
Misune has 330 mv, can lose all that in one sequence of combat
Lily states, "I don't like the idea of food helping less--but it makes sense that you wouldn't eat it inbetween combat spouts."
Kinaed claims, "I think it should be okay for ST to provide a partial or full restore as well."
Kinaed states, "It's usually only quest situations where that sort of thing happens. And STs are intended to be a bit like tabletop Game Masters."
Aimmus is no longer idle.
Lily claims, "Although running and eating food makes sense to me ICly. Sometimes you don't have time to sit down and eat."
Lily asks, "ST?"
Galen claims, "This is kind of hard to phrase, but I've been noticing that there's been a lot more push lately toward trying to emphasize the theme of the game more, and push players toward more theme-appropriate behavior. And this is good! Players acting against the theme can be immersion-breaking, after all, and gentle corrections to encourage players to act appropriately are definitely needed."
Haizea slides over to Galen. "Go onnn..."
Otois claims, "Well it happens all the time with ad-hoc events that I run into as reeve. We get on scene and munching starts as the corpse rots on the ground, in all parties"
Galen states, "I just wanted to say that I think special care should be taken as measures like these get implemented that we don't end up making the game less enjoyable to play for the sake of the theme."
Silrie questions, "Can you give an example of what you mean?"
Galen says, "I don't think this has happened yet, but I'm just afraid that it might."
Kinaed trails off, "What sort of examples ... yes, Silrie, exactly "
Eileen claims, "I haven't had any trouble with it. Of course I read soooo muc before I came in"
Otois claims, "Nerfing food too much would be one"
Otois says, "Well, one potential"
Kinaed queries, "Well, for context's sake, because I'm not sure i understand you, could you make up a potential, if ludicrous example?"
Misune agrees wholly with Galen "In the end this is a game, and games are meant to be fun, not a constant strict adherance to realism."
Galen trails off, "Hmmm..."
Lily queries, "How would nerfing food work? Meaning you need to eat more food, or--?"
Galen queries, "I don't think nerfing food would. Can we drop the topic for now?"
Mika claims, "Galen and i come from a game that emphasizes theme over fun, people get pk'd at random because 'thats what happens in a place like this'"
Gaven claims, "Could we please stick to Galen's topic rather than bringing up past ones? There's a forum topic that's gonna be made for them."
Kinaed nods at Galen.
Kinaed nods at Gaven.
Eileen says, "Oh yeah... I remember that game."
Tuan says, "That game sounds familair"
Braiden still plays that game, probably.
Silrie claims, "Mmmmhmmmm. I could name one."
Kinaed claims, "I have to admit, I'm feeling a bit lost like I don't understand something that everyone else does and is talking about. "
Eileen nods and probably still plays that game too
Galen states, "Okay, for example: putting a mandatory text filter on freeman characters that makes them sound uneducated."
Galen claims, "That'd be a ludicrous example."
Silrie claims, "Ah... huhmmmm."
Lily trails off, "Yeah, I have no idea what 'that game' is..."
Eileen claims, "Ooooh."
Takta asks, "Or discouraging people to show up at less thematically-appropriate places when it's the place where the RP is?"
Kinaed claims to Galen, "Oh, we don't enforce theme with code for the most part."
Mika nods at Takta.
Galen states, "Yeah, like making it to where a noble automatically suffers a reputation hit for going into the Bear and the Boar or whatever"
Azarial claims, "Outside of gentry and the barbarians, yeah"
Kinaed says, "But I do think we try to be careful with our changes. If we muck it up - tell us! Thats what this forum is for, in part."
Misune nods to Takta "A perfect example. Don't know how many times I had my noble head to freemen locations because it's the only place with actual rp
Takta muses to Galen, "Do you mean code specifically or also culture/suggestions?"
Braiden questions, "I'm kind of worried about that one. Like everyone is somewhere weird, but You want to roleplay. I find myself idling because I'm not really sure how to break into that, you know?"
Kinaed nods at Braiden.
Galen declaims, "I think I more mean code specifically in this case, but maybe also policy, too!"
Silrie nods.
Margaux says to Braiden, "I self police where I go IC, I know the awkwardness."
Takta claims, "Gotcha! Good to have that clarification."
Eileen claims, "I just walk in and if I'm shunned then I'll lleave"
Galen claims, "Like I said before, I don't think that this has happened yet."
Kinaed claims, "Well, I can honestly say that if we did something like that, I think players would let us know here."
Galen declares, "I'm just worried that, if left unchecked, it might!"
Silrie says, "I feel you. There was rp in the hospital, and I just left, because I could not think of a reason why she'd be there, and... it seemed private."
Braiden trails off, "It's just kind of umm...how to explain it..."
Lily claims, "Yeah... I don't like that you're highly pursuaded to go where everyone is."
Eileen states, "I don't go places that are unfamiliar, like the hospital."
Galen says, "I would rather players go against theme than avoid RP and have less fun."
Wesley claims, "The hospital gives free hugs"
Galen claims, "The new punishments that nobility will be able to dole out got me a little worried, I'll admit."
Eileen hugs Wesley.
Braiden states, "Yeah. Like I logged on the other day but everyone was at a scene and then it's like, well. Uh, Hey there folks mind if I just walk on in while your hacking off a leg. Makes it hard as a new player or someone who has to bounce on and off from time to time."
Aeron claims, "I'd rather not see the game become fluffy bunny in order to cater only to certain types of fun. "
Kinaed states, "Well.. if it helps."
Eileen declares, "Moment guys, I need to go to the store with mom, brb!"
Lily states, "I like roleplaying my character--but I also like xp, and you can't exactly get much in a scene with 0 players."
Silrie muses, "Do you mean the whippings, Galen?"
Adgen says, "Ummm, I disagree a bit. I think that falls on the player. I've seen people in large numbers at 'freeman' locations, and have wanted to go, but didn't because Adgen wouldn't be caught dead there. The Queen's in is borderline for him, whereas he won't go near the Bear(no offense to the manager). This might show a lull in rp for a moment, but you can always send out messengers for some reason or another."
Eileen has gone AFK.
Kinaed states, "Being visible on WhereRP as far as policy is concerned is an INVITATION for other players to join you, even if they have to bend why they're there, etc a bit."
Misune smirks to Lily "That would certainly be difficult."
Kinaed claims, "If people want to be privately scening, then they will turn whereRP off."
Kinaed says, "So if they're on where, please assume you're welcome and just go. Make up a weird excuse if you have to."
Takta claims, "You can usually come up with an excuse even for a non-thematic scene, I find, and even that small amount of lip service tends to take care of it."
Braiden claims, "Well, you can send a messenger, but why would I send a messenger when like you don't know anyone. It puts you in a trap I guess."
Emery is idle.
Kinaed nods at Takta.
Emery is no longer idle.
Emery has returned from AFK.
Emma says, "The "My Guy Wouldn't Do That" article comes to mind. It's super excellent for advice on how to handle "but I wouldn't go where the RP is!"."
Takta states, "'I got lost'. 'I'm trying to meet new people.' 'I'm trying to hang out with the common folk.' 'I'm looking for a noble to hire me.'"
Kinaed nods at Emma.
Lily states, "Yeah, but I don't really like having to break character. I end up choosing between having fun roleplaying and grinding xp."
Otois states, ""i've got lost and wandered in by accident""
Silrie states, "Braiden, what I do with Silrie is just have her wander. She's new, doesn't know the city, and if she stumbles upon places where rp is, then yay"
Otois teases Silrie
Lily states, "Even if I'm coming up with new and exciting ways to roleplay while gaining said xp."
Silrie giggles.
Misune remembers a scene where a group of nobles walked into the jewelled peacock because they thought it was a parlour in the traditional sense of the word... normally they wouldn't be caught dead there, but ic mistakes lead to wonderful rp
Galen says, "And for the record, I am all for the game being 'fluffy bunny' when it comes to making sure the players are having fun, even if the theme is dark, grim, and unforgiving."
Kinaed claims, "Well, to a degree - if the character you're playing isn't that fun because the concept can't really get good RP (like "I play the brooding guy in the corner - omg, why does no one ever approach me to chat?!") then you may need to tweak the concept."
Takta claims to Misune, "That's a great example."
Emma rofls at Misune.
Takta grins.
Braiden rolls his shoulders. "Just seems like extremely weird. I find myself just going to taverns because it's about the few things that make sense."
Kinaed states, "Not all concepts work well, as sad as I am to say that."
Mika nods.
Silrie states, "Lololol misune"
Mika states, "I've found people pretty forgiving about where and why exactly a character shows up, it's more about how they act once they get there"
Kinaed nods at Mika.
Silrie says, "Wait"
Misune sighs fondly "Twas an amazing scene that lead to extortion."
Kinaed says, "As a game - if you have whereRP on, please expect people to join you and please welcome them."
Takta claims to Braiden, "Well, if folks are in the hospital, you might suddenly be feeling sick that day. For example. If folks are in the woods, you're lost. If folks are in the park, you're stressed and need some fresh air. If folks are in a really seedy bar, you're feeling reckless after a bad day. Etc."
Lily claims, "I get that. It's just less fun though, when I'd rather do something else."
Silrie wonders, "I just had... it doesn't work for fast rp, but... stories? You can make stories, maybe? if you have even a little idea and want to get good rp in?"
Kinaed says, "If you're a player, please feel free to make excuses (evne a bit off the wall ones) about why your char would go to where RP is."
Takta states, "And if no scene on where suits you, these days, going to a public room and keeping where on is very successful."
Lily claims, "Yeah, but it's like, if there's a burning, you /need/ to be there almost--even when my character would rather do something else."
Kinaed says to Lily, "I've never seen a person get into trouble for not going to a burning."
Takta says, "There's an OOC understanding that you might not be up for a huge scene, or you have an alt there, or etc."
Kinaed claims, "I've been running the game for over a decade, and I don't think I've seen a single case."
Otois states, "You can stand there and boo the burning"
Margaux states to Kinaed, "They used to... 10 years ago. We've moved on. "
Lily says, "Except for roleplaying alone for an hour and getting no xp."
Kinaed claims to Margaux, "I don't think I even saw people get in trouble for it back then."
Lily claims, "I like roleplaying alone, but it feels the game heavily discourages it"
Silrie questions, "You rp alone too Lily? me too"
Takta says, "Ultimately, burnings and masses aren't terribly common."
Braiden states, "It's just a new system So I'm getting used to it. It's not a complaint really."
Azarial claims, "It;s too easily abused."
Braiden blushes.
Temi claims, "You can't get people in trouble because of alt rules"
Silrie states, "Lol I'm weird, I guess, to emote to an empty room, but hey"
Margaux says to Kinaed, "They did. I was ICly tasked several times 'go to the taverns and takes names' as a baby Inquisitor."
Takta declaims, "So you won't be left alone that often. And it's fine to RP by yourself if desired!"
Azarial claims, "And it may not be a completely empty room like you thought."
Kinaed states to Lily, "We don't reward for alone RP, though it's certainly welcome, because the game is most served by interactions between players."
Takta claims, "We just really like to encourage PC interaction, so that's where the XP is."
Adgen says, "I can see getting in trouble for not being at a burning a bit easy to abuse, sometimes a player has alts on so you can't have your 2nd char attend"
Takta nods at Adgen.
Kinaed says to Margaux, "I think I asked you to do it and it was because I was giving you busy work "
Margaux claims to Adgen, "This was before alts were allowed."
Lily says, "Yeah, though I still don't like how xp scales with the number of people."
Misune smirks to Silrie "How can you be sure you are really alone in a room?" waggles fingers in the air all creepy like
Mika nods.
Takta claims, "XP doesn't scale much with the number of people. Most of the XP bonuses can be gleaned in a 1v1 scene."
Silrie quales appropriately.
Kinaed nods at Takta.
Haizea states, "You get rpxp bonuses for tolerating nobles in your presence"
Takta claims, "Set a mood, set an action, use hemote, think, and RP with a new person and your XP will be at most one or two ranks lower than with a tavern-full."
Lily claims, "Hmm...weird. I noticed it differently, but okay."
Gaven wonders, "Mmmmm Cyan Freeman Orderites in a scene with a Nobleman for the win?"
Otois states, "And if you activly seek out to rp with newbies, you will get A LOT of xp"
Kinaed claims, "It scales very little, I think a max of a +1 bonus for number of people in the scene."
Gaven states, "In a public place too."
Haizea nods at Gaven.
Lily questions, "Howso, Otois?"
Yrata exclaims, "So always come to rp with me!"
Takta says, "More people does make you more likely to stack bonuses, as folks are saying, but you can get all those bonuses off one person."
Kinaed states to Lily, "It might be nudged by WHO walked into your scene. An orderite gives you more, for example."
Otois claims, "Rping with a cyan is +2rpxp"
Galen exclaims, "Anyway, that was my topic!"
Kinaed nods at Otois.
Galen exclaims, "Thank you for listening!"
Misune imagines a cyan, orderite noble
Braiden says, "Yeah, sorry for derailing that."
Kinaed exclaims, "Thanks, Galen. Food for thought!"
Takta claims, "And to be honest, the vast majority of my scenes have been at Average RP, because I don't remember to do these things. Time adds up. "
[Action: Mika is seated on a throne of people, with her feet resting on a person bending over. ]
Kinaed questions to Gaven, "You're up. Please introduce us to your topic?"
Galen says, "I'm sure it won't be a problem, it's just something I was anxious about because of... the past."
Silrie exclaims, "Oh, now I get it! people like silrie cuz she gives good xp right now!"
Takta nods at Galen.
Kinaed states, "Sorry we're over time, guys. I'd like to encourage you to please stay."
Silrie sobs.
Kinaed says, "But if you want to or have to go, send me a tell."
Galen exclaims, "I'm stayin'!"
Takta claims to Silrie, "You're probably also legitimately great, but. "
Mika finishes abruptly, "I don't mind staying - you can go 'down' or ask for a transfer out from one of us if you'd like to split though"
Galen exclaims, "Yeah, Silrie is great!"
Gaven states, "Alright"
Kinaed nods at Mika.
Silrie says, "Awwws lol"
Gaven says, "I'll save it for next time then."
Emery says, "I see how it is. Only RPing wif me cause i'm cyan XD"
Kinaed says to Gaven, "You're sure? We're happy to hear it now."
Gaven claims, "Oh, I misread that."
Braiden says, "I've got nowhere to go."
Emma states, "I'll stay but I refuse to listen to Gaven."
Gaven states, "So I've noticed that the game's population has been rising recently. We've had a bit of a player boom so to speak."
Galen high-fives Emma.
Gaven states, "And with it tons of activity."
Margaux hands Emma some earplugs.
Mika nods at Gaven.
Emma inserts them.
Silrie smiles.
Kinaed claims, "The cyan XP bonus is to help you get an 'in' with older players so you have time to establish relationships, etc."
Sedore wonders, "One question. What's the doll for this meeting relevant to?"
Takta states, "You should see the giant peak in my activity graph, it's like a mountain except it isn't going down yet."
Temi finishes abruptly, "We give the bonus for newbies as an incentive to play with you - so they get hooked on your role play"
Takta claims to Sedore, "No doll, just silver. "
Sedore claims, "Oh. I have like 3 dolls. Nevermind."
Kato trails off, "So that's why people RP with me... = D"
Galen queries, "Anyway, Gaven, continue...? :O"
Kinaed questions to Gaven, "Just to check, you're typing up your topic, right? "
Silrie states, "Yes, we're sorry Gaven"
Gaven says, "I was reading the -really awesome- Tubori helpfile on the forums and thought to myself 'I wish I could interact with this a bit more'. I was wondering how possible it might be for us to have a small number of Foreign Duchy rooms outside of Lithmore rather than default travel rooms? Like, for example, a few in Tubor or Vandago."
Silrie says, "Go on."
Kinaed states to Kato, "It's hard to be a new person on the block."
Galen questions, "Hm... so, basically, having tiny pieces of environments of the other duchies?"
Galen wonders, "Rather than the free-form travel rooms...?"
Gaven claims, "The theme/setting is rather cool but in some ways it almost feels like it's missing something culturally."
Gaven says, "Yeah"
Kinaed says to Gaven, "Sadly, we don't want to split the game up, design-wise. We chose to eliminate outlying areas because our pbase was too small to allow RP to diffuse over a large geographic area."
Takta questions, "The foreign quarters don't give some of that feel?"
Adgen is still new and he's been playing the game for just over 2 years. Aways learn something I didn't know about.
Lily queries, "Oh, there's free-form travel rooms? Huh"
Galen says, "Maybe the foreign quarters could use some review."
Silrie claims, "Hmm"
Kinaed claims, "I know we're growing, but I think we'd need to be a lot larger still before we start going down the path of opening up Tubor, Vavard, etc."
Kinaed nods at Lily.
Lily says, "I thought the foreign quarters were just embassys"
Takta states, "Farin's Foreign Quarter is sadly a shell of what it used to be, and will remain so unless/until players choose to address some things."
Gaven says, "Foreign quarters aren't really the same tbh. Figured just a small number for each to give a taste of it might be good."
Takta states, "No, the Foreign Quarters are whole neighborhoods that fit the culture of their home duchy."
Kinaed states to Lily, "Nope, totally culturally different areas."
Haizea claims, "I heard theres a monster in the vandagan foreign quarter"
Lily says, "Oh, neat. The name confused me, I guess."
Haizea says, "But i havent seen it"
Takta says, "We could review the others."
Gaven asks, "Is its name Haizea?"
Galen finishes abruptly, "Yeah, Haizea - IT'S YOU"
Margaux claims, "Vavardi quarter is really evocative, Vandago is pretty strong too."
Galen states, "WOMP WOMP"
Braiden Gasps at Haizea
Takta claims, "See if they provide a chance to get some kind of the cultural experience."
Tomas claims to Haizea, "Yes it goes by the name Mazina"
Margaux misses the old Farin quarter.
Takta claims, "I could retool the Tubori to fit the new files."
Silrie asks, "Is it true that you can create your own rooms for rp purposes, say, I cunno, an underground cell or something or a room in a house, etc, temporarily to suppose rp?"
Silrie states, "Support"
Adgen claims, "I think Gav means changing some 'travelling rooms' into default racial countries"
Margaux states to Takta, "It would be nice to see it less.. slummy."
Takta nods at Margaux.
Galen pontificates, "Silrie - yes, this is possible!"
Kinaed nods at Takta.
Temi claims, "I love the foreign quarters for that sort of rp"
Galen exclaims, "See 'help storyteller' for more deets!"
Silrie claims, "Ah that."
Kinaed claims, "Let's consider redoing the Tubori Quarter after the help files are updated."
Takta states, "I'd be happy to give it a look. I'm very attached to Tubori culture."
Otois muses, "Dead horses heads in the foyer?"
Galen questions, "Where's the Lithmorran foreign quarter, huh?"
Takta grins at Galen.
Silrie claims, "Oh jeez. charali would love that. not"
Tomas says to Galen, "Southside"
Blake claims, "I attached to Takta. >.>"
Kinaed trails off, "Okay, sorry to push this one - again, we're over time..."
Adgen loos at Takta and coughs, " Biased." P
Misune arches brow "The tubori quarter seems to fit well enough with even the updated helpfiles... or would it be adding more too it?
Tuan loves the Tubori.
Yrata states, "Tubori are the best culture"
Braiden is all about that tubori.
Kinaed declaims to Tuan, "You're up!"
Aimmus is idle.
Aimmus is no longer idle.
Aimmus has returned from AFK.
Silrie says, "Hmmm."
Takta states, "I'll look it over and see what I think at a later date."
Takta states, "Re the Tubori quarter."
Kinaed nods at Takta.
Kinaed wonders to Tuan, "I'm sorry, a bit spammed here (I have wiznet, and a few other channels going wild) - did you introduce your topic yet?"
Tuan says, "Alright I'll make this quick: Recently something happened that though it was done in good intentions of spurring RP it's conception was not entirely Ic. Though it seemee enjoyable it appears I upset players and staff to which I sincerely apologize. From now on if anyone has any ideas for ic things concering this character --PLEASE-- contact me icly. Tells are ooc for a reason."
Kinaed has transferred Zaerieth. [OOC]
Kinaed gives Zaerieth some coins.
Kearry has been transferred out by Kinaed. [OOC]
Tuan says, "That being said I am sorry if I ruined any enjoyment of any character."
Kinaed claims, "I do appreciate it if people do keep the RP IC "
Kinaed says to Tuan, "I don't think anyone is upset with you."
Silrie says, "Nah tuan's awesome, form what I've seen."
Zaerieth says OOCly, "Heya all. any developements?"
Silrie says, "From"
Yrata declares, "Only for robbing me of precious sleep! But more than made up for with a super awesome scene"
Kinaed says OOCly, "Nothing extreme, but we did have a full house and a lot of topics today."
Emery states, "Also, kinda on that topic, I know I'm new, but if I offend or make someone not like me IC, please don't think that I am mean OOC : ("
Wesley has lost link.
Wesley has reconnected.
Kinaed nods at Emery.
Silrie states, "Awwwww."
Takta says to Emery, "We have a lot of great big jerks ICly who are wonderful loved people OOCly. "
Kinaed says to Emery, "We're all an old hand at knowing the "jerk character" is not a jerk player "
Sedore states, "In that same breath, I am only arrogant ICly because I am arrogant OOCly. That is all."
Silrie claims, "Ahahhaaa"
Takta states, "Separation of IC and OOC is the fundamental bedrock of a good RP game and we thrive off it."
Silrie states, "Amen to that."
Braiden claims, "I've had that become a problem in the past. people joining a group discussion t ocomplain that I'm a terrible person because I played a very aggressive character on another mud."
Kinaed states to Zaerieth, "Did you have a topic to bring up? Please do."
Mika says, "Im the biggest jerk to people i like oocly because we can play off each other the best"
Kinaed nods at Braiden.
Mika beams friendship
Silrie wonders, "Yeah, i'm a big mean person, I just play sweet because it's a change of pace. Can't you tell? Aren't I awfuls?"
Braiden drags off his typist for a lashing and publicridicule.
Silrie smiles around sweetly.
Kinaed claims to Braiden, "If people do that, we tend to remind them that IC people aren't OOC people - but honestly, I think there's a high tolerance here."
Braiden nods.
Gaven claims, "I'd like to note that, going back on the theme stuff and this about 'jerk characters'. If someone reacts to a character concept because that concept definitely doesn't fit within theme, please don't take it personally."
Galen claims, "Aaa sorry I had to step away for the moment"
Kinaed nods at Gaven.
Kato nods.
Galen claims, "But yeah, we love our jerks here."
Kinaed nods at Galen.
Silrie states, "Fifty lashes, Galen. How dare you."
Kinaed states, "Conflict drives RP."
Braiden winks at Haizea
Otois says, "Why thank you, i feel loved"
Gaven got some recommends for rping out some racial prejudices. Was pleased.
Zaerieth states, "I'd like to say something, if posible. I've had some question, if in my dealings with zaeri, if I'm just trying to be a jerk. know this. if your char gets reviewed, questioned, or pked its not that I'm trying to be a jerk. I'm playing her as she would react, based on the situation at hand. I ask that it would be understand, and will respect if any pks come to my chars as well. its a game after all"
Blake starts sketching a jerk.
Silrie smiles at Gaven.
Silrie declaims, "Well done!"
Eileen is idle.
Kinaed nods at Zaerieth.
Tuan claims, "I just smudged a line, one which I try to keep no matter my role. And I didn't want people to think or shy away from rp for thinking 'hey this guy cheats' or something. I dunno, It's been a long day my parental nerves are frayed and I'm rambling."
Margaux states to Zaerieth, "It is a tough job OOC, being an Inquisitor some times."
Gaven states, "I wouldn't worry too much about it Zaeri. Whoever said that was clearly out of their mind."
Emma says, "It's a very hard IC role, Zaeri."
Takta states, "It's worth noting that the decisions you have to make as an Inquisitor are pretty hard and subjective and, as a suspected PC, it's almost impossible to know what evidence the Inquisition has on you."
Tuan shuts up now.
Kinaed states, "Please remember, people, the role of an Inquisitor is a tough one."
Galen declares, "It's a tough job, and Zaeri does it well, I think!"
Kato nods.
Takta claims to Zaerieth, "Thank you for all your hard work."
Emma states, "What Takta said. "
Galen claims, "She's the one I confess all of Galen's awful sins to."
Kinaed claims, "Love your Inqs, even when they're doing things that worry/upset you because they bring the whole aspect of fear/paranoia to TI."
INFO: Quorthon Mrket has just created!
Kinaed nods at Takta.
Zaerieth states, "To kinaed I just had the last events, dragged ooc so I wanted to deal with it"
Silrie claims, "God I'm so stupid"
Kato says, "Can I add something quickly about nobility and the Inquisitor? Assuming Tuan is finished."
Kinaed nods at Kato.
Zaerieth claims, "And, thanks everyone.. trust me.. I've had moments where I've had to put her down"
Tuan states to Zaerieth, "You had a chance to brand or burn Tuan awhile back and Zaerith chose counsel and preaching. that says alot to me as a player"
Tuan states, "I'm done. yep."
Silrie says, "Awwww Zaeri"
Kinaed asks, "Can I add something about Inquisitions?"
Galen states, "No! You, person who runs the game, are not allowed."
Tomas just wrote a long thing to all the nobles about nobility and the inquisition.
Takta grins.
Galen states, "SILENCE."
Braiden states, "This game has definitely challenged me in a lot of ways personally and like life view wise so I sometimes ahve to take a break myself to be honest."
Zaerieth states to Tuan, "I don't see the need for needless pk if I can redeamn the char in other ways"
Braiden needs to go back to typing school.
Kinaed claims, "Inquisitors by nature may or may not have something solid on you if you're in a Review - but whether they do or don't, it is not a good idea to antagonize a person who has you completely at their mercy."
Silrie states, "It can be very intense, but that could be because I have a vivid, vivid imagination."
Galen says, "I recently got way too invested in my character's goings-on ICly and had to step back."
Tomas nods a -lot- at Kinaed's words
Takta states to Braiden, "Feel free to let other players know if you need a moment; I think we're generally respectful and kind folks here. "
Zaerieth nods at Kinaed.
Emma claims, "You're doing fine, Zaeri. Having an active and involved GI is a huge blessing for everyone. Keeps theme intact."
Kinaed nods at Emma.
Silrie nods at Kinaed.
Galen finishes abruptly, "Yes, keep in mind with the theme here - the guild leaders, and especially the Grand Inquisitor, have NO OVERSIGHT"
Kinaed claims, "I think Zaerieth is a good Grand Inquisitor. Generally speaking, the populace's feedback is quite positive."
Takta says, "And I frankly don't envy some of the decisions Zaerieth has had to make with difficult calls, and am grateful they haven't been mine to make one way or the other."
Mika nods.
Emma nods at Takta.
Kinaed nods at Takta.
Kinaed nods at Galen.
Sedore states, "I'm grateful for Zaerieth. She's too good at her job, as she should be."
Braiden states, "I try to keep my personal views out of my RP, mainly because I think it just makes it difficult, but this game I didn'tthink I'd have reactions oocly like I did. But personal crap and stuffage."
Tomas says, "It's been enough of a headache advising and consulting on some of the issues that have come up. I don't envy Zaerieth her job and think she's doing a good job"
Kinaed nods at Braiden.
Kinaed claims, "Okay, I think that wraps up our player topics, and we've gone way over the hour."
Kato questions, "Speaking as a true blue Cyan player tried and true, is it possible for us to receive some sort of message to know when nobility or the inquisitor is present? I know stuff like this is touchy, especially when PvP exists. I am getting better at this, or so I think, but I don't feel like any character would simply not notice, say, the inquisitor. And when you're new and everyone is either a tall muscular, muscular and tall, or tall person who is muscular, it can be a little tough. And I'm sure the players who have earned these prestigious positions don't want to feel unrespected or the such. Know what i mean?"
Braiden shrugs
Sabari nods at Braiden.
Galen says, "I've actually been thinking about that myself, Kato."
Emma says, "Easiest way is sumptuary, Kato. And if they're not dressed for their station, no way to know... Which makes for interesting RP."
Mika nods.
Gaven says, "I don't like that about Inquisitors."
Kinaed states to Kato, "I'd recommend looking at people that join you, but I'll consider that request and discuss it with staff after this meeting."
Emery pontificates, "What Kato said would be helpful!"
Mika states, "A few of the nobles aren't dressed like nobles on purpose, and sometimes inquisitors have to be sneaky"
Galen states, "It'd be nice to have some kind of system that flags a player as an inquisitor or noble, but still allows for players to pass incognito if they choose."
Takta claims, "Yeah, that's a toughie that needs serious discussion."
Emma claims, "Ehhh. I feel that's a little too OOC."
Haizea says, "Im buying four more npcs to make it more obvious"
Gaven states, "In my experience I've never had a problem identifying a noble or inquisitor for what they are by their clothing."
Takta claims, "If it were based on clothing it wouldn't be OOC."
Adgen claims to Kato, "Use look often, if they wear gold, 90% chance they are a noble, sowrd it's 50/50, silk about a 40% chance"
Haizea states to Tomas, "Im buying four more npcs to make it more obvious"
Haizea begins to count their money.
Tomas claims, "I think most will give a correction if you address them improperly and it can move on. but if it persists with being disrespectful is the issue"
Zaerieth says OOCly, "I have zaeri wear her ring, but she dresses not so flashy, because she's not that sort"
Margaux says to Haizea, "Haizea step back. This is an intervention."
Takta states, "Takta is here. She is wearing gold jewelry. Temi is here. She is wearing Inquisitor red."
Braiden trails off to Haizea, "Just what we need...."
Mika nods at Takta.
Tuan says, "Gotta jet, need to do dishes and stuff. Catch ya'll around"
Blake muses, "This PC is up for sale as well, buy me?"
Yrata claims, "More Ivans please, Hai"
Galen exclaims, "Bye bye Tuan!"
Takta claims, "But right, Kin said we'd better chat this over later."
Takta grins.
Otois claims, "There is also no such thing as bowing too much"
Tomas says to Takta, "I like that. That's also useful for Reeves *nods* though it would need to have a flag for items with inquisitor red"
Sabari exclaims, "Bye Tuan!"
Tuan has been transferred out by Kinaed. [OOC]
Emma grumblerumbles.
Takta nods at Tomas.
Sabari nods at Otois.
Sedore says OOCly, "Aye. It's 1:30 AM. I gotta crash and burn."
Emma waves!
Takta claims, "We'd have to sort it out."
Kinaed states, "Okay, some public service announcements before we go."
Sedore claims, "Go for it."
Galen says, "What awful mudsex thing did someone do this week"
Kato states, "I can DEIFNITELY understand the argument of it being too telling. I completely get that and it is definitely a valid point with everything that can happen. I'm just throwing things out there. Maybe even just a line in the sumptuary or elsewhere during chargen that SUGGESTS to new players to /look muscular to gauge their class and act accordingly."
Kinaed wonders, "Firstly, please turn on autovote and vote for TI - it helps raise our profile and brings more people to come play with you. Who wouldn't love having more people to play with?"
Takta claims to Kato, "Good idea there with the sumptuary helpfile."
Kinaed states, "Autovote will automatically remind you once per login."
Silrie claims, "I should buy a mom for silrie. lololol, nah. doesn't fit"
Margaux claims to Galen, "We call it the Flying Doubleswitch."
Yrata has voted, aww yiss
Kinaed states, "If anyone is willing to write a review for us on TMC or elsewhere - or post about us on Reddit or Facebook... please help us."
Mika claims, "Oh yeah, don't forget about help courtesy either"
Galen has his delicate Lithmorran sensibilities thoroughly offended by the Flying Doubleswitch
Emma puts up TI for ever r/MUD thing ever.
Tomas states, "And help precedence"
Galen says, "I'll write a review! I started to write one but it got too long."
Mika says, "It might save you cyans some trauma"
Emma trails off, "*every..."
Takta says to Emma, "I thought that was you on r/MUD. "
Zaerieth says OOCly, "I've ment to write a review.. but ug classes, and biz, and stuff"
Emma claims, "Ah HAH. The mystery TIer is revealed."
Kinaed claims, "Please remember to recommend your RP partners, particularly if it's RP that gets a strong emotional reaction - conflict drives this game, and it can be thankless being the person who makes enemies, etc. Let people know you love what they're doing for you."
Kinaed pontificates to Galen, "Thank you!"
Takta states, "(Also forgive us if your recommends take a few days to go through)"
Otois declares, "You don't need them before you die anyway!"
Azarial claims, "Recoms can earn you qp"
Adgen claims, "I did the most recs in one day yesterday thatan I've ever done, so I can see it taking a while"
Kato pulls closed his cloak, hiding his garments.
Kato flips a brown, voluminous hooded cloak back over his shoulder.
Kinaed trails off, "Okay, everyone. It's almost time to get transed back..."
Yrata queries to Adgen, "I know, right? I felt like Oprah"
Kinaed declaims, "Have a great day, enjoy your RP!"
Braiden shrugs
Sabari nods at Braiden.
Galen says, "I've actually been thinking about that myself, Kato."
